He was born with Down syndrome and without a right foot. His father became an alcoholic (he couldn't handle his sons disability) and left Rafe's mother early in his life. Rafe was raised by a single mother without a lot of external support in a time when his disability was still not well understood and without the benefit of early intervention and all of the resources available just 20 years later, when my son was born.

There were times during the main trial when the thought of "where was JA getting the money to do all this traveling, etc. on what a waitress makes?" crossed my mind. But I kind of just let it go.

Now, what with claims that she was "giving" or "lending" him amounts as high as $699 coming up, one has to look at this more closely. Where WAS JA coming up with the money?

At this point, LE has certainly had a good look at all of her financial records prior to the murder. They would also have examined all of TA's financial records. So we can assume it is known when any dollar amount went into or came out of either of their accounts. If a check was written but never cashed, that would be known.

Back to Jodi and her earning power. As far as what is known, she never worked as anything other than a waitress, right?
According to Darryl Brewer she was still working as a waitress when she started into the PPL sales after meeting TA. Did we ever hear that she had any success in selling the Prepaid Legal Services? These sales would be all commission, correct?

How much is it possible for a waitress - even a very, very good waitress - to make? One of her non-admiring co-workers described on a Nancy Grace show that JA was so obsessed with TA that she would work her shift and then drive 5 hours to go see him. (Or spy on him) Just the gasoline purchases alone for these trips had to be hefty.

JA had enough money to move from California. She had enough money to rent a residence. Did she get a job when she moved to Arizona? What job? She had enough money to "give" or "lend" money to "help Travis" after his tires were slashed?

Could she have been running up credit cards and only making the minimum payments? Could she have been secretly working for an escort service?

Something does not add up here.

Way to burst my bubble!

Off to shop for my sweet sons class party this afternoon. The special ed kids always bring me so much joy- they are so genuine and positive and loving. I am going to hold on to that, realizing that even in extreme adversity, many people are able to find joy and happiness.

Many of these kids would be happy to have even a portion of the intellectual and physical capabilities Jodi Ann Arias was born with- that were never good enough for her... squandered and overlooked.

So many of my sons classmates (my son included) face challenges that she will never know or understand or have to deal with... and what she did have- she took for granted. every. single. day.

Boo friggin hoo, ya loser. I despise her.

If they get to read or watch Bill and Sandy police interviews, Bill says Jodi called Sandy constantly for money. That he wouldn't give her any, but Sandy did. lots of money. Plus didn't Jodi say she owed Travis a lot of money?

IIRC Jodi wasn't doing well at all. I think because she had attached herself to Travis and had the mindset that he was going to support her and take her on trips. She'd thought she had it made.

If she was a working girl she sure didn't make much.

JA was probably maxing out all of her credit cards. Taking cash off of them. Remember, it was her last ditch effort to score a guy like TA. She had to try to "impress" him in some fashion. Also, she wasn't making the house payment so she didn't have a mortgage or rent to pay. I doubt she ever paid money to the roomie in AZ. I can almost guarantee that she used something like "Care Credit" for her boob and whatever other implants she had done, never making one payment. It would be awesome to do a credit check on her for this time period, check the banking systems to see how many bad checks she wrote.

Thinking back to waiting tables in a casino steak house back in '95/'96 , I'd guess around $500/600 or so a week, plus regular check (if you counted it, I didn't as it was eaten by taxes and insurance). That was working 40+ hour weeks tho and didn't leave a whole lot of stalking time, much less the energy to care. Never did have vacation money.

I doubt he was even reading her silly diary. If what she claims is true and he'd get upset if she wrote bad things about him how comes there are entries talking about him "sucking her dry" out of all her money? Pff liar.

Don't I recall that she was really eager for the police to get their hands on her journals? I am convinced the contents are at least 80% BS. She must be squirming with excitement at how well her plan worked.
