Retrial for Sentencing of Jodi Arias - Day 30

This is one of the big pieces of the puzzle we have been missing and for good reason towards the defense of Jodi Ann.

I have been watching all of the old trial testimony footage and one thing that struck me like a bat to the head was when Jodi was going on and on and on on her direct with Kirk Nurmi- she was talking about a fight between she and Travis- she of course being the innocent victim who had done nothing wrong and Travis the mean abuser. Anyway, Nurmi was letting her ramble and then thinking he had the perfect opportunity to bring to point just how abusive Travis was he asked Jodi- "what was he saying Jodi... what was he yelling at you" and Jodi's response was- "I can't remember... I don't remember what he was saying... my head just started to scramble". At that very moment I realized SHE HAD DONE SOMETHING- that is why she doesn't want to admit what Travis was saying... why she had to feign fear and fog. IF the jury knew what Travis was saying and WHY he was saying it- all bets would be off for Jodi Ann.

Can you imagine what she said to Travis? I can. They were having there "tell everything" meeting, I'm certain inspired by Jodi's manipulation. He finally admitted that he was still in love with Lisa and still wanted to marry her- and Mimi was still a possibility when Jodi says well... I have something to tell YOU! Neither one of those girls are probably willing to DIE to be your wife- let alone want anything to do with you when they find out you might be dying of AIDS. I had an affair while we have been intimate and I just learned the guy is HIV. I am going to get tested and YOU better think about getting tested too! Can you imagine? OMG- what did she say and do to Travis in reality. This is a small glimpse to how she mentally tortured him.

DeMarte is so professional. The jury is paying close attention. I like how Juan's tone is as if he is cross examining his own witness. He is very consistent in his pursuit of the answers regardless of who is on the stand.

So this will end up being the rest of the day I guess, since Nurmi is going to interview DeM after lunch. I guess Jodi will get sit in on this one to! I'm sure she's been writing notes/questions to give Nurmi for "their" interview since trial started today. SMH

I also believe that the Hughes were attempting to be LDS mentors to Travis related to issues of keeping the tenants of the Law of Chastity and not only finding an appropriate LDS girl to be his eternal wife, but also that he needed to be an appropriate husband (boyfriend) if he wanted to achieve the expectations of those who are married in the temple.

They were admonishing him based upon the lies that Jodi spewed and felt that they were close enough to Travis to be able to voice their concerns without losing his friendship. I think they were truly trying to help him be more faithful and observant of the church dictates and that would help him to be a better church leader/husband and "Priesthood" head of the household.

I don't fault the Hughes for their email. At the time, they did what they thought was best given then information they had at that time. They never dreamed that their words would be picked apart by the masses in a murder trial years later. MOO

This is so important to remember. We 'know' Jodi now but if any of you have ever had the distinct displeasure of having a psychopath in your life, then you know how sincere and genuine they can appear. She would have seemed the sweetest, nicest, most humble and pious girl in history. She would have appeared to be perfect for Travis, if not too good for Travis altogether.

She deceived. She manipulated. She violated their trust. She engineered drama. She used them. Like everything else, I blame her entirely for it.

have not seen that personally yet, doesn't mean it hasn't happened. I've been looking at the exhibits and typing and occasionally check out the jury to see who is taking notes. I will try to pay more attention to that this afternoon.

You know Frigga you might be on to something. Perhaps THAT was what the big fight before she killed him was about and why Travis thought she was so evil. Maybe she told him about the sex tape she recorded and that he may have a fatal STD and the life he thought he would have was never going to happen?
