:seeya: I've been thinking about MDLR and the fact that her contract is up end of February. Most of the information about her activities has been conjecture, based on name dropping and in-fighting from the Arias crowd, with unconfirmed suspicions about her role in tweets, funds, and art sales. However, we do know that she smuggled 'contraband' out of the jail, and that Juan pointed out to the judge that she was leaking information to MK. We also know that her demeanour in court is less than professional. She must, IMO, be a cause of concern and embarrassment to other mitigation specialists. I assume that not renewing her contract, causing her to withdraw from the case, would create judicial havoc, and is perhaps not even an option. That being said, I wonder if the County (if they are allowed to) will elect to place her on an hourly fee only, and decline to pick up her contract once sentence is passed. It would not surprise me to learn that Juan has registered a complaint against her.

'Morning everyone - I have to go out (in the awesome 70ish Texas weather lol) so won't be able to post any tweets for the morning, hope someone can catch the ones I usually post. And I hope to heavens Nurmi is finished by the time I get back.

Gosh
I'm following the Holly Bobo case. If that EVER comes to trial I'm sure it is going to be 5x worst than this one.

Here I am back for more. My BF tells me I'm the crockpot queen lately...

:seeya: Good Morning, Y'all !

Wow ... making progress ... Day 33

Anyway ... I will be available this afternoon to post Tweets ... busy this morning, but will be here around lunch time!

Aw okay, DGC. Come back soon. Trial days are not the same without you! Thanks for the tweets. :loveyou:

ETA: I just read geevee's post. Thanks to you too geevee. :loveyou: Come back soon!

Just a thought this Monday morning..

If JA stood before this jury at the end of sentencing phase and said how sorry she was about the death of TA (without admitting guilt of course, appeals and all, you know) cried and wailed and asked to live, do you think this jury would be swayed? Would they vote LWOP?

I actually think that would sway at least a few jurors. It's the one thing everybody has been wanting and waiting for in my opinion.

This could probably be answered by AZL, but I think in general there are three things higher courts can do one or more of:
- Issue a stay to leave things a certain way until they get a chance to take a closer look.
- Decide based on what was submitted on paper whether or not the decision being challenged warrants a review.
- Hold oral arguments and (later) issue a decision if they decided to review it.

In this case the SC refused to issue a stay to keep her testimony secret, which was a strong hint it had zero chance of success. It's pretty obvious the COA did the right thing under the law and JA had every chance to testify in the open but chose not to, so I'd be very surprised if the SC decided to reconsider the CAO decision. It's a moot issue at this point.

So, basically, they are reviewing the decision on whether or not she should be allowed to testify in private again?

I don't see how it is lost on the jury that this has devolved into picking apart every single thing about Mormonism and those who believe and belong to the same community as Travis. The jury made up their mind long ago.

It's one thing to say you could sentence someone to DP then actually doing it. IMO, the verdict will be LIFE with nary a possibility of parole. There is no remorse from JA, and she comes across as deeming herself a savior for ridding the World of the demon TA. Nobody else sees it that way. This makes JA dangerous and on a mission to continue the 'cleansing' spree.

Today I am making my version of
Pasta e Fagioli.
I put low fat turkey keibasa, the beans, pasta and spinach in it. Crusty french bread ad red wine...I'm good to go:D

Looking forward to the juror questions for Dr. DeMarte, especially, "Would you explain in detail what you meant about JA continuing to devalue Travis in this trial?"

Today I have Pesto Pasta for nourishment... fresh basil, olive oil, parmesan, etc. So good!

I will accept whatever the Jury decides. Guess I have too LOL Yet I pray it's death. Would love to see Jodi's face if indeed that is the verdict. Then again she would likely smirk and think to herself "Nobody is going to put me to death"

I'm doing meat sauce during the courts lunch break and will do the pasta fresh at supper. I usually miss the last hour or so of live court, busy with after school stuff and getting supper on the table. Thankfully it's easy to catch up after supper.

You folks are putting me to shame. I was just kinda thinking easy peasy like maybe just a Sammy night LOL

So, basically, they are reviewing the decision on whether or not she should be allowed to testify in private again?

Yes - it's explained with more detail at that courtchatter page.

To be precise, what they are reviewing is the decision of the COA granting the appeal of the press to open up the secret testimony. So JSS made a decision to have the secret testimony and the press appealed that decision and won. The DT wants the SC to undo that by saying JSS's original decision was the correct one.

It could be slightly more complicated than that if there was a separate decision regarding unsealing the transcript, but I believe that was all covered in the same decision that overruled the secret testimony.

Good morning everyone!
Too bad Jodi gets out today to enjoy the weather on the way to court.

Mr. Zig is home this week so I have some tax things to handle this morning, meatloaf to prepare and then off to court this afternoon! Hopefully there will be testimony this afternoon - you never know about the defense delay tactics...can't wait to hear juror questions for DeMarte.

I think the jury questions for DeMarte may tell us all we need to know about how this jury may decide

http://kristinarandle.com/blog/jodi-arias-trial-how-good-is-the-rebuttal-witness-dr-janeen-demarte/

She is everything that Ms. LaViolette and Dr. Samuels, should have been. She is a true professional clinical psychologist. Her professionalism fills the courtroom. She is bright and articulate. Her integrity is beyond reproach. It is quite apparent that she believes deeply in her profession. It is also apparent that she is well-educated and could serve as a role model for her profession. In the opinion of this writer, her integrity is not for sale.

Absolutely agree with everything. I wonder if Nurmi and Willmott realize, or even care at this point, that as a Ph.D. in psychology, Dr. DeMarte has (despite what they keep trying to refute) years of training and experience dealing with potentially very difficult people. It's kind of what she does for a living. Do they really think they're going to win a war of words with her? Ain't gonna happen. I wonder if she's thinking, "Do you want to spar with the Expert Witness?" She sometimes has that look on her face. Other times she looks like she's thinking, "Bring it."
