Geff says he didn't think they were useful and a close friend is usually valuable but the motivation to give inaccurate information exists.

And yet he baed his entire 'expert' testimony on a known liar's statements and her motivation to give 'inaccurate information' vastly outweighs everyones.

Alrighty then. Let's strike Carl Arias comments from the record. If a close friend would be tempted to give inaccurate information, then surely testimony from a family member trying to keep JA alive should've been deemed not useful as well?

For someone who knows more than I do - Does PTSD have some "triggering trauma" or is it the cumulation of some series of events? I would have thought the former, though perhaps it could be either. If the alleged choking incident caused PTSD, then she would have avoided him after that. If it didn't give her PTSD then (assuming it happened which it didn't), then it didn't give her PTSD period right?

One trauma. Think of it as a terrible frozen snapshot moment you can't get out of your brain. There was no fight or flight. There was freeze.

Then the brain confuses subsequent situations with the frozen moment. Your reaction can seem out of sync with the new situation. And sometimes this new situation can itself become a traumatizing event, because it, too, can be experienced as a frozen snapshot. This is PTSD.

Even talking about the trauma can trigger PTSD symptoms. Jodi does not have PTSD. AT ALL.

The best stuff on trauma, in my opinion, is by Peter Levine (Waking the Tiger).

This is my experience.

FWIW. I believe that MdlR's contract with AZ courts finishes on February 28th. Given her penchant for leaking to the press, and other unprofessional behaviour, IMO, it's possible that her position as Mitigation Specialist might not be renewed. If that were to happen, would the DT have another reason to delay while they brought a replacement Mitigation Specialist up to speed?

IIRC, if the mitigation specialist is in the middle of a death penalty case, his/her contract gets extended month-to-month. Let's hope Maricopa County is already interviewing a professional, ethical, replacement.
