We are all entitled to our own theories. To me the stretch is believing poor Amanda's Mom was killed by a SK in Manorville and her best friend was killed by a different SK who uses Manorville to dump bodies. That my friends is a stretch...

Also, Melissa was not dumped in Manorville.

Facts in this case:

Likeahunter-lol....at one time my husband and my brother and my neighbor and most of my friends have been a "drunk white guy", as have literally a million men in NY. Are you guys trying to say that Melissa Barthelemy was chosen because of a second-hand connection to Rita? Then what about the others? There's no evidence at all that this is why Melissa was killed; nor is there any evidence that JB is responsible for GB. If evidence emerges that he is, then perhaps there is something there. Otherwise, I just don't see it.

I haven't said anything about a connection with RT's daughter. I know nothing about a possible connection there.

What I am saying is that MOST people don't drink and/or drug to the point of doing illegal things. Like driving cars. Or taunting victim's family members.

Like I said, I know it's a stretch. I was just pointing out that MB's sister said the killer sounded like a drunk white guy, and we know that JB has, in the past, made some poor decisions (driving) under the influence. That's all.

It would never hold up in a court of law, and I AM being glib when I say it. Still, just wanted to point that out!

because yesterday (and today) their connection to LISK is non existent.

I found this:

" What is a partial match at NDIS?
A: Occasionally a partial match between a forensic profile and an offender profile is observed during a routine NDIS database search. The FBI defines a partial match as a moderate stringency candidate match between two single source profiles having at each locus all of the alleles of one sample represented in the other sample. (See below illustration). A “partial match” is not an exact match of the two profiles. A forensic scientist, when evaluating whether a candidate match is a viable match and should be processed through to confirmation, discovers that the candidate offender profile is, in fact, excluded as the possible source of the profile obtained from crime scene evidence but that, because of a similarity in alleles between the forensic unknown and the candidate offender profile, believes that a close biological relative of the offender may be the source of the forensic unknown."

Sounds like this is what happened

Bet he wants to kick his bros arse. woop

According to this article, LE suspected a link at the time but couldn't prove it. http://riverheadnewsreview.timesrev...orville-man-charged-in-two-cold-case-murders/

Also, NBC interviewed a neighbor who echoed Jenny9's comments. Everyone liked the guy, etc. they showed footage of Bittrolff's house, also. Really nice. You'd never think an SK lived there, but that's usually the way it goes.

When is this damn arraignment?!?

If only they looked as horrible on the outside as they are on the inside.

There is no source because they took the Fb profiles down years ago. They were linked at the time but no websleuther except foreigner payed them any mind.

That's not true. We all paid attention to them at the time, and there was never any evidence that the killer himself posted them. There still isn't. You're starting rumors here, and it is not helpful.

The discussion of non-existent FB profiles ends here!

If you cannot link it, you cannot post it. Case closed.

They're currently investigating Bittrolff for the Sandra Costilla case.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/investigations/long-island-murder-suspect-may-be-linked-three-deaths-say-n161566

Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said that the condition of the body and the position in which it was found make Bittrolff a suspect, as does an item of clothing that was missing from all three bodies. Spota would not specific which item of clothing was missing.

From your link:

"Once he was in custody and drank from a cup, officials say they pulled more DNA from the cup and matched it to the crime scene.''

I'm not quite sure how the bodies were nude AND a specific article of clothing was missing. I suppose the clothes were dumped nearby? Anyone know?

This article references previous reports from when Colleen first went missing.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/new-york-man-charged-with-killing-two-women-20-years-ago/

In a bulletin archived by Newsday, police said the victim was last seen getting into a small blue car outside a diner in the area.

I wonder if Bittrolff has ever had or had access to a small blue car?

I also wonder if LE have located the items of clothing they say the killer kept?

The staging is significant because the Manorville torsos might be described as having been staged

The articles have all stated that he kept what Spota calls "a unique article of clothing". They were found in the winter. I wonder if it was a scarf, gloves, or coat? It seems like perps usually take underwear; that wouldn't be "unique" in terms of a killer keeping a souvenir, IMO.

Regarding the prior arrest record, JB was arrested for driving with ability impaired. Likely making him, at one time, a "drunk white guy."

I might be reaching here, but just saying...

So JBs MO, in both killings was:

Strangled victims

severe blunt force injuries to their heads

Bound them (read that in another news report)

Left the victims naked

Posed their bodies

Took "a unique piece of clothing" as a trophies/fetish?

IMO this is INDEED a serial killer behaviour.

Not sure he is the LISK though.

http://m.greenwichtime.com/news/cri...man-faces-charges-in-2-cold-cases-5637619.php

Spota said both women had been strangled and suffered severe blunt force injuries to their heads. Each was known to have worked as prostitutes, and the killer in both cases kept a unique piece of clothing, which the prosecutor declined to identify. Spota also said both women were "posed" in the same manner.

He also said authorities were investigating whether Bittrolff may have been responsible for the death of a third woman, Sandra Castilla, whose body was found in a similar state to those of Tangredi and McNamee. Castilla was found in the North Sea community of Southampton in December 1993
