Rosie Bids Adieu to "The View" (maybe 4/25/07)

Personally, I enjoy watching Rosie on the View. Do I ALWAYS agree with her opinions? NO.. But I don't have to. I think she has made it ok for women to talk about controversial subjects. Before, all womens talk shows are about tv, fashion, etc. With her gone, it will be up to Ms. Boring Uber-Conservative Hasselbeck to give daily TV updates... God forbid we talk about Politics or Religion.. The Bachelor seems much more important.

I wholeheartedly agree. At least she gets people talking. I would take her anyday over Elizabeth who gets worked up to the point of tears when trying to defend her views.

Whether you love or hate Rosie, there is certainly no need to call her rude names. That's just not necessary, IMO.

"So called" freedom of speech. Can you explain how we have "so called" freedom of speech. Last I heard that was a right we had in this country. I guess everyone can now watch and the highlights will be Elizabeth's recap on The Bachelor or American Idol. Gotta have our priorities!

yup I can explain that.. it's called "Freedom of Speech" anything goes no matter what.. you can say anything you want.. the only thing one can not say is "bomb" when on a plane.. so i guess that freedom of speech BS doesn't apply there.. I guess that o'l saying "slience is golden" no longer applies anymore..

A smart man knows how to choose his words wisely and a foolish one stirs up anger... IMO and my :twocents: worth at that..

I've never watched The View, but wanted to weigh in on Rosie.

I might not always agree with everything she says, but I'm a sucker for a woman who speaks her mind and isn't afraid to get into some skirmishes! Also, she's so un-Hollywood in looks and demeanor - and I'm a sucker for that too!

So Rosie gets my sexy vote and I wish her the best.....:crazy:

Good riddance. She is a stupid lady and I am glad that people won't have to hear her lying BS anymore.

I think she should be stripped of her US citizenship and shipped to Iran/Iraq!

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that ABC would've met her terms if they really wanted her to stay? I don't doubt that she helped their ratings go up, but was it enough to put up with her?

I just have a feeling that they didn't want another Star Jones type mess about Rosie leaving and have gone overboard to make this seem like it was a negotiation thing.

While I have from time to time taken offense at some of the things Rosie has said, I also admire her for her honesty. quote]
One of my favorite quotes is "honesty without compassion is hostility" and that's how Rosie always comes across. She might say she's just being honest, but she also projects a great deal of hostility and arrogance so I say good riddance.

I DO believe in Freedom of Speech, I don't believe in freedom of lies. I don't disagree with her, I know what she is saying is wrong. Her facts are wrong! She says what ever the hell she wants with nothing to back it up. The things she says are just totally outrageous. Doesn't even make sense. Our Gov't was involved in the 911 Trade Center collapse (yep, we had explosives all set up in the trade towers so when the planes hit they would collapse), she compared people of the Christian faith to radical Islamic terrorists, (when is the last time you heard about a Baptist or Catholic, a Presp, or a Mormon beheading someone???) 28 million children dying of poverty (2005 census has 12.9 million under 18 living in poverty, that's a little off there) , 1/2 of all black/hispanic kids don't graduate highschool (2006 stats say 80% of black kids DID graduate, Rosie was a little closer with 60% of hispanics) , hundreds of thousands of innocents murdered in Iraq by our soldiers (where that # came from, the air)...this is just a few of the assanine (sp?) things that has come out of her mouth.

So, again, I am all for freedom of speech, however, someone in her position, with so many, sorry to say, not so smart people watching her show (who believe everything that come out of her mouth without researching it for fact), can be very dangerous, IMO. (and I didn't start that, it was on Fox, they say that the people who are viewing TV during the timeslots the View is on is the lesser intelligent of the bunch...just repeating what I heard on a talk show, made sense to me...that's an opinion, not a fact )

IMO, that could very well be the straw that broke the camel's back. I wonder if it was iffy before her scene at the awards luncheon and that just determined her fate. I read about and saw a clip of BW and she looked very uncomfortable, embarrased in front of her journalism peers.
