General Director of Aviation Technologies Alliance Viktor Pryadka pointed to a serious flaw in the design of the Tu-154.

“When flying at an angle of 15 or 16 degrees the aircraft gets ‘stuck’ and there is no way you can possibly make it level again. As a result, in starts going down until it hits the ground. After takeoff the pilot needs to spend some time flying the plane in a horizontal mode before it can start climbing again. If he doesn’t, or makes a turn, the plane goes into a nosedive,” he said, adding that this is exactly what could have happed to the ill-fated Tu-154.

Bumping. BBM

I wonder if the known fault played into the accident???

What really struck me was the part about turning. It was in a pretty intense turn back to land - I think they may have been trying to get back or were totally disoriented

Investigators in Russia say they cannot rule out the possibility that an attack downed a jet over the Black Sea, with the loss of all 92 passengers and crew.

An external "mechanical impact" could have caused Sunday's disaster, a flight safety official said, while confirming there had been no explosion.

So are they talking about being tampered with at Sochi airport?

Hey sorry but that would fit in with this divert to Sochi huh?

Not really sure how one would do that tho - i would think the flaps were retracted at the gate?

mess with hydraulic fluid in the wheel well?

Very strange statement IMO

Wish I could figure out what the actual weather was at the initial airport - would love to know if it was really weathered in.

If not, this statement might have some profound implications huh?

It is somewhat bothersome - they ruled out explosion so fast, but focused on mechanical intially then bought in pilot error

Lots of folks aint happy with Russia in SYria
