I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility either. Since the worst of covid, new car prices have been and continue to be really high. The result of supply vs demand.

Businesses that deal in keeping used/owned cars looking good and running well are thriving. imo
and then, as so often happens, someone wants to divvy it all up and start off all over again somewhere else with someone else, not saying this is so in this case, but it is par for the course in many marriages, and those marriages that combine the business and the marriage. Then things go to hell very bloody quickly.

This has been my hunch from the start. I think the husband seems hinky to us because he's hiding the marital issues, not because he's harmed his wife. I'd be very interested to know if Sam had a (secret) running partner and where that person is now.
Marriage breakdown is awful, emotions are all over the place and bad decisions are made.
This is all my uneducated opinion. I hope I'm wrong and that Sam is found safe soon.

One of the reasons I do not think she has gone voluntarily is , she has not given herself enough lead time. She could have gone when the family was down the coast at Xmas, she could have gone when he went to work and she had a 'business meeting ' all day in , say, Geelong or Melbourne, she could get quite a distance in a day, with a lot of planning, a hell of a lot of planning, but there is all the false doco, all the stat decs to sign, all the tidying up to do from a distance.. ....again , it's the logistics of it. They do not make sense.

There are other scenarios, though.

My learning lesson was the Kylie Blackwood case. We didn't even know a person called Scott Allan Murdoch existed, until he was arrested for murdering Kylie nearly three years after her death.
I was (wrongly) looking much closer to home, because we just didn't know what the police knew. They weren't talking, except when they needed help.

imo

Mine was Cleo Smith. I could not believe the outcome in that case. That it was unprecedented in AU history should not have been a bar to thinking outside the box!... Right out side any box at all.

For all that, I just can't believe Mrs Murphy is still alive, .,........ not out in the bush. If she is safely enveloped in someone's home, sipping a margarita I'll be as happy as a clam. But I don't think so.

Has the house been searched?. A few years back a young guy disappeared in Geelong and after many months was found deceased under the house. Also, why hasn't any other family of Samantha come forward i.e. parents, brothers, sisters etc?. I have a feeling about this matter and it is not good. Not much business for smash repair businesses for nearly 3 years duringt covid lockdowns!. Increasing mortgage rates. Could have been conflict over financial matters. Who knows but people just don't disappear!. Where police alerted early to her disappearance by her family or her friends ?.

Yep. I’m in agreement with this line of thinking.
The separate holiday this year, the wedding rings, the lack of sightings… so many things that in isolation are somewhat benign.
Money and control. I think at this point it’s only a matter of time.

He's a panel beater, right?

People who work metal often don't wear wedding rings, for safety.

My partner's dad never wore one. He worked sheet metal for forty years. I think my stepfather only did once he stopped working in welding and other metal working jobs.

MOO

It's different for a woman though, isn't it? Unless she also happens to be a metal worker.

Yes I believe her husband reported it early (After 11am??? - I don’t think we know the exact time?? )

Her husband Mick Murphy, 53, raised the alarm when she never returned in time for a pre-planned 11am family brunch date.

It could be someone who lives on the outskirts of town, owns a rather large rural property. It could be someone who owns a second property / family beach house and this person can come and go as they please.

My gut tells me the husband isn't capable of pulling this off in such a short time frame.
I’ve been thinking about vacant properties in the area.

I rarely wore my wedding ring. Women and men who work in healthcare, food handling, meat handling, meat processing, etc are generally not allowed. The exception is if it is a flat band only for some places of work. It's generally up the instituion, in the policies and procedures.

And who picks up dog poop from their yard before they runaway?!
