As I said earlier, I don't for a minute believe she went willingly to McClellanville...She was snatched off the street and taken there forcibly. I'd bet my life on it.

On the last video of her leaving the Hotel, she looks like she is on the way somewhere definite. I think she was planning to meet up with some one she met earlier. Maybe she thought she was going to meet some 'new friends' for food or a party? And it was all a set up to get her alone and vulnerable.:rose:

That's believable. Perhaps someone invited her to a party, and then drove her miles away.

I'm not sure she was taken by force, the FBI seemed to allude to that fact that she was held against her will at the end, but may have been there willingly at first. It's very strange.

BBM And why did she suddenly stop texting and using her phone if she were willingly traveling??

Maybe not taken by force INITIALLY---but tricked into getting in someone's vehicle, possibly. I think she met someone during the Spring Break that invited her on a day trip somewhere. Like 'let's go see my friend's yacht and go out in the bay,' or 'go to my friend's house party' , in the next town over. She wanted to get away from the so-called friends she was there with.

I think she met up with someone that night and agreed to go somewhere with them and it was a sick twisted set up.

What kind of people live in this area for them to keep this quiet for so many years? Did they assume that she was a runaway who wouldn't be missed until her disappearance hit the news, and was she then killed because it was too dangerous to keep her alive?

“We do know that Brittanee was in this community for several days. It wasn’t just a one-time passing through so by being here for several days other people came in contact with her, saw her, knew that she was here so we know that there is information in the community here,” Thomas said, asking anyone with even the smallest detail to come forward."

This reminds me so much of the Romona Moore case in NYC. Young college student kidnapped off the street and held for days by a couple of ****s. They brought friends over to see her chained and in obvious distress. The friends told no one, but later one guy finally did testify that he saw Romona being held in the house. She had even made a plea to him: "help me, you seem like a nice guy". He did nothing. **** loyalty
"Romando Jack, a friend of Hendrix and Pearson, testified to seeing Moore chained and held as a captive by Pearson and Hendrix in the basement of a house but did not report her to the police; he went to a baby shower and later returned home to Maryland.[SUP][8][/SUP] Jack told his fiancée and her uncle about the young woman being abused and held captive. He said during the trial that he thought his uncle may have called the police.[SUP][8][/SUP] A woman witness testified in court, but changed her testimony three times.".[SUP][9]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Romona_Moore

I can picture a similar scenario in Brittanee's case. :( Sick twisted sense of loyalty and lack of morals. Or just plain evil.

I vote for being totally evil.

I don't think they've come forward with what they know because they are scared. It could be a generational household (grandparent, mother/father & children) and they feel threatened. The reporters question about protection was relevant, imo.

I know! I'm trying to figure out what the wording might mean. He also said Brittanee "did leave the Myrtle Beach area" instead of taken, or abducted, or kidnapped. I just can't wrap my head around WHO she would have willingly left the area with, or more importantly, WHY she would. She clearly didn't leave alone on foot, and she didn't have access to a vehicle. Maybe she was initially told that they (whoever they are) were going somewhere else? But, I still think LE would have said 'taken' or maybe 'lured', if that were the case.

I can't remember. Who was the college student she was allegedly with at a hotel the night before? The person came forward with the video like a year later and Brittanee is seen sitting on the bed texting and then later on the balcony, I think.

Yes! I thought that meant she willingly came here but he said no it was against her will

it was an odd press conference, i still dont understand why the family retained a lawyer.

maybe it has something to do with things that they did not make public.

having a hard time thinking of anything it could be tho.

I haven't followed this case for years, but I'm assuming that someone in the community has come forward to reveal what happened to Brittanee, and investigators need more people to come forward to corroborate what they now know.

Refusing to comment on whether the remains have been found might mean that they have found some evidence of her, but not enough - for example, some bodies are burned.

Me neither! Lots of catching up to do

Brittanee Drexel's dad tells me tonight the FBI says she was alive from the Saturday pm she disappeared until Wed. Held against her will.

https://twitter.com/ginnyryan

Did they indicate how they know that? I am not saying I don't believe it, only that there has to be something that proves it. Did anyone ever say how they know this to be true?

Someone had to have talked. Now that its out there, the perps will start turning on each other if more than one was involved. jmo.

From this press conference link in the article underneath...
"For the first time in seven years, investigators say her last known sighting was not the Bluewater Resort Hotel in Myrtle Beach -- where the Chili teen was staying -- but rather she was last seen in McClellanville."

If someone came forward, which seems to be the most likely scenario other than video footage obtained to make such a definite statement about her timeline, the informant is most likely providing hearsay evidence which cannot be used in court. Thus, the appeal to the public for corroboration or other new evidence that can be submitted in a court of law.

Anthonys were represented for awhile by a Brad Conway.

Dawn has retained attorney Bradley Conway -- he says to help her navigate the case and act as a liaison.
Surely not the same one the Drexels hired?

Same guy.

ETA: I think she probably hired a lawyer because she just wasn't sure what kind of information she might be dealing with here.

Hopefully LE find the perps before the perps figure out who snitched. jmo.
