Wow. Strange story. Something isn't adding up.

So did someone take her car.....and then bring it back?

So did she ditch them at the bar? Or did they all return to the apartments together? Conflicting reports. Does "gina" live in the same complex?

Was her car returned after she was reported missing?

Was there signs of forced entry? I can't imagine her letting them in after ditching them.

Maybe he was home the first time LE came to his house? Didn't answer the door, but knew he was caught?

It says her last contact with anyone was 2pm on friday? Can that be right? I assumed whatever happened to her, happened in the early morning hours friday.

With the limited info we have, I'm about 80/20 on Buddy killing her over the accessory guy killing them both and trying to make it look like a murder-suicide.

RIP

JMO
I have so many of these kinds of questions too. I hope they all get answers...

Friendly reminder... we can’t discuss or sleuth family or friends of a victim- unless/until LE has named them a POI, suspect or made an arrest. It’s against TOS/the rules & will get the thread shut down- or posts deleted, or posters on “time-out”. And no one wants to sit on their chair in the corner. :D Just say’n.

Are we allowed to talk about things we see on FB that are public but not news articles?

No Veragold, just because the public can see social media, it is not allowed to be brought here unless it is the social media of a victim or a POI/suspect (or an MSM account or LE).

Please review The Rules: Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, etc.

If you still have questions, please private message a Mod or Admin and we will try to clarify.

In addition, inside the truck, detectives reported locating a claw hammer with a red color substance that tested presumptive for blood. Detectives said also inside the truck were latex gloves, concrete bags, and camouflage nylon straps which were purchased by Carr at a Home Depot in the Charleston area.

Arrest affidavits state that video surveillance from Home Depot showed that during one of two purchases at Home Depot another male subject was seen. The affidavit, which has redacted names, does not identity that subject.

Witnesses reported that Sweeney’s vehicle, an Audi, pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. which was four hours after Sweeney’s last known communication.

Authorities said they utilized automatic licence plate reader (ALPR) information to see that the truck appeared to have been driven into the West Ashley area on I-526 on Feb. 28 around 10:45 a.m.

According to an arrest affidavit, the ALPR showed a large black container stored in the bed of the truck which was seen in camera view.

I’m a little confused... Can someone clear up where Celia’s car was found? Was it in HER apt complex??...after the welfare check?? I just want to make sure I’m understanding the facts correctly. sorry ‍♀️

LE has never directly stated where Celia's car was found. The closest I can get to understanding is in this article :

Affidavit: Detectives found murdered Charleston woman in container in the woods

Witnesses reported that Sweeney’s vehicle, an Audi, pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. which was four hours after Sweeney’s last known communication.

According to investigators, the Audi was followed by a pick up truck which quickly pulled into the parking lot and picked up the driver of the Audi and left the parking lot.

This comes directly after discussion of Celia and some of the group she had been out with returning to her apartment, so I think it's inferred at her apartment complex. But that's definitely open to interpretation and would make absolutely no sense for anyone to return her car to the scene of a crime. JMOO

Sorry - this may not be very helpful. :(

Unless I've missed it, I think that's still unclear. It wasn't found during the welfare check - we know that much - but was found the next day. MOO

Affidavit: Detectives found murdered Charleston woman in container in the woods
According to new arrest warrants, the investigation began on Feb. 28 when officers with the Charleston Police Department responded to conduct a welfare check at Sweeney’s apartment after Sweeney’s boyfriend discovered a “significant amount” of blood throughout the home, and her car was nowhere to be found.

Charleston man charged with accessory to murder in the Celia Sweeney homicide investigation
Authorities performed a welfare check at her home and found that both she and her vehicle were missing.

Sweeney’s car would later be found abandoned on February 29th...

To be honest now that I've read that Carr was seen buying disposal supplies and that those supplies were found in the truck unused makes me inclined to believe Walton did not plan on Carr being dead. I'm still puzzled by the shell casing at Sweeney's apartment though. Perhaps the medical examiners report will shed more light on that.

Per the affidavits, police spoke with with Sweeney's neighbors, who told them Sweeney had been out with two men on Feb. 27, the night before she was reported missing. The men reportedly were in town for a funeral. The neighbors told police they accompanied Sweeney and the two men to multiple restaurants and bars before returning to the apartment complex.

Later that night, the affidavits state text messages were sent to Sweeney’s boyfriend, indicating she was not comfortable being left alone with two people in her apartment and was going to ask them to leave. The boyfriend texted back several times after that, but the phone records show those texts went unanswered.

Sweeney’s boyfriend then traveled to her apartment on the morning of Feb. 28 after she did not respond to his messages. The affidavits state he discovered a significant amount of blood throughout the apartment and found that both Sweeney and her car were missing. ...

[...]

The following night, Feb.29, the affidavit states police discovered Sweeney’s car approximately a half mile away. ...

Blown away he was able to drive if he was that heavily intoxicated. What was the reason for him to do this though. He isn't a cold blooded killer. no idea . I'm at a loss for words

The WHY is also really bothering me. It sounds like all four people were at CS home and some were drinking. CS wanted them out of her home so she got them to go to a bar and CS was bothered enough about the situation that she confided in a bartender . CS left alone and sober . Then some or all three of the others went back to her home and killed her !? Why? Becuz she dumped them at the bar? MOO

I wonder if her car was "dropped off" at 6am, and not 6pm, on friday? That would make more sense with the "4 hours after any contact" she had. (Assuming her last contact were the text messages with her bf).

I wonder what time of day the home depot trips were? It says her bf found her bloody apmt on friday morning. She was obviously gone by then. I wonder what time that was? I doubt home depot opens before 6 or 7am.

Finally, we have names!

Not directed at you, Veragold, but please everyone, remember to use initials. And, we cannot sleuth the boyfriend or GS because they have not been named by LE as POI's or suspects. MOO

Authorities were first called to Sweeney’s apartment on Friday night after her boyfriend PS had entered the apartment to look for her and discovered a “significant amount of blood” inside the apartment but no sign of Sweeney.

[...]

While canvassing the area, police discovered that GS, a friend who lived in an adjacent building, had been out the previous night with Sweeney and two men, who were identified as Carr and Mark Walton.

The group had gone to multiple restaurants and bars and spent time in Sweeney’s apartment.

Carr, Walton and Sweeney returned to her apartment in the early morning hours on Friday, but GS was no longer with the group, according to the report.

At her apartment, he (PS) found “a significant amount of blood” throughout the home, but not Sweeney, according to the filing.

Police got involved when they were dispatched at his request to conduct a welfare check around 8:52 p.m. Friday and obtained a search warrant for the apartment.

[...]

Authorities did not find Sweeney’s cellphone but used a ping to show its last known location was “in the general area of her apartment” earlier that day around 11:30 a.m., he wrote.

“The forensic processing also yielded bloody footprints yielding a possible band name and tread pattern of a boot,” Owens wrote.

[...]

Inside the home, investigators also discovered a Home Depot receipt showing cleaning materials and multiple bags of concrete were purchased on the afternoon of Feb. 28. In addition, a 45-gallon Husky container was purchased separately at the store that day, and store surveillance video footage showed Walton was present for that purchase, according to the affidavit.

[...]

Should he post his bond, Walton must have no contact with Sweeney’s family “verbally, electronically, on social media, or by third party,” a court case index shows. He is due back in court on May 8.
