@Tricia, @sillybilly -

The deceased male identified as Coty Taylor is not named suspect or POI by LE but deaths believed connected.

Can CT be sleuthed? TIA

ETA: Add Mod Reply -- NO SLEUTHING DECEASED MALE

CT is the deceased male found. LE has not specified that he is either a POI or a suspect in Faye's death. Please do not sleuth him unless/until LE officially names him as the perpetrator.

Police in South Carolina say evidence links Faye Swetlik to deceased male found nearby

That photo is a tear jerker!
I saw a picture shared by a journalist that showed valentines cards made for Faye by her classmates. A lot of them said “please come back.” That just ripped my heart out. This is so hard to wrap my head around, I can’t imagine a child trying to process this. This is such a tragedy.

Respectfully putting Faye's devastated family aside for a moment...

IMO - These LE investigators that worked this case are gutted right now. Some of them may have a difficult time coming down from the adrenaline & emotions of this search/investigation all the way to the tragic outcome. I hope they talk to each other, use the resources available to them by their departments. This is going to take some time for some of them. IMO, they did an incredible job. They were organized, worked with other agencies and were aggressive with their searches.

I agree with the Sgt from the latest PC, what do you say to this poor family right now?

It makes it even sadder now that we know that LE interviewed and was in CST's house before Faye was found in the woods. I really pray that for LE's sake that Faye was already no longer alive when they were there. My heart breaks for how they would feel if they knew she was still alive. It is my biggest fear that she was still alive though.
IMO-the key piece of evidence was one of her rain boots that was found in the trash.
On a side note I really like the LE officer Antley. He seems like such a genuine man and is deeply affected by Faye's outcome.

This is the back of Coty Taylor’s apartment 602 Picadilly Dr. Officials say he is the male who was found dead the same afternoon at 6-year-old #FayeSwetlik @WLTX

So if his apartment opened onto the woods, the crime scene (=taped area), easy to take her out the back, if he is the guilty one.

Second person found dead in Cayce is Coty Taylor. 30. He was found dead in his home. Faye Swetlik was found dead in woods behind Airport Blvd. a key piece of evidence found in a trash can outside Taylor’s home.

Police had searched Taylor’s home earlier and also talked to him. He had no criminal record. They say evidence found in trash can was listed on her missing persons report. More soon.

oh my, I didn't realize he was the one who found her... poor Chief.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I usually am), but didn't I read that Faye and her mother had once helped a man find his dog? I'm just wondering if the monster that killed her heard about this and waited until the moment was right and approached her with a missing dog story.

Any other ideas as to why he would have been in her neighborhood?
