Faye Marie Swetlik Autopsy Information

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has confirmed that the autopsy of Faye Marie Swetlik was completed on February 15, 2020. The preliminary results of that autopsy are not being released at this time out of respect for Faye’s family. They need privacy and time to process the information.

The findings regarding Faye’s autopsy will be released at a press conference to be held by Coroner Fisher and the Cayce Department of Public Safety on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Information regarding the time and location of that press conference will be released at a later time.

The preliminary findings of the other autopsy conducted on February 15, 2020 will also be released at that time.
So glad that they didn't name the monster!

Are you thinking he had constant visual? But still, how do you grab her with no one seeing out of a window?

She probably knew him by sight and would have felt safe if he called her over. They are so trusting and that age.
From the link:
“"He was a neighbor. He was not a relative. He was not a friend. He was merely a neighbor."

I understand he was not a friend to the parents but these creeps have a way of ingratiating their way into kids spaces.

What we know about Coty Taylor, man linked to Faye Swetlik

Friday, February 14th 2020

Sgt. Antley is talking about Coty Taylor. The 30-year-old has been linked to 6-year-old Faye Swetlik. Police said Taylor was found dead in his Churchill Heights apartment on Thursday about 150 yards away from the little girl's body.

“He was a neighbor. He was not a relative. He was not a friend. He was merely a neighbor that lived in Chruchill Heights,” said Sgt. Antley.

ETA: For those that prefer to visualize -- 150 yards is .08522 miles

Thank you, that is helpful.

Just going back to this for a sec.... I think this was a well executed ploy by LE to circle back to the trash cans after searching them one day prior. It gave the perp a false sense of confidence that he could dispose of evidence, since the trash had already been searched.

Yes. Regardless of who the perp is this makes sense and is some pretty excellent and sneaky police work. I know it's a different county and FAIK it could have been FBI that came up with that but I watch a lot of LivePD and Richland County (which is Columbia and borders Lexington in Cayce, SC) has some pretty stellar officers. Like Danny Brown, Garo Brown and Addy Perez. Now it seems so does Lexington and Cayce. I'm impressed. I sent Antley a tweet today expressing that as well I figured maybe some kind words would help on a day like today.

Everyone, please remember if you are posting pictures you must provide a link from one of our media or law enforcement sources. If you pull a picture off a random social media page we can't allow that. We have no idea if the picture is of the real thing or not.

Thank you,
Tricia

CORONERS OFFICE...Tuesday for autopsy report on Faye. In respect for the family they will not release anything until then.

With respect to darling Faye's dignity, I hope her autopsy report is never released. It would serve no purpose. IF CT is responsible, he's dead and can't be charged so no point in releasing details of the crime other than morbid curiosity. Moo

"We conducted a 50-state survey and found (1) nine states that have laws directly addressing the disclosure of crime scene photos, (2) 26 states with laws directly addressing the disclosure of autopsy reports, and (3) 16 states with laws directly addressing the disclosure of 911 tapes, seven of which directly address the disclosure of 911 transcripts. Generally, the laws restrict the disclosure of the above records to certain entities (e.g., next of kin), but in some cases, particularly for autopsy reports and 911 transcripts, they specify that the records, or certain information in the records, are available to the public. Additionally, some laws give an agency discretion to release the record to entities other than those specified in the statute." South Carolina is not on the list of the 26 states that directly address autopsy reports.

General info: "One exception to this rule is that results of autopsies performed for medicolegal investigations (those required by the coroner or medical examiner in cases of suspicious deaths) may be released to police or other authorities and may be discussed in court proceedings open to the public. In these cases autopsies may also be ordered by the coroner or medical examiner, and obtaining consent from relatives of the deceased is not required."

Very telling IMO that CT is now “the other autopsy”

I do agree. All we have to know is that her death was ruled a homicide. There were several questions regarding autopsy reports so I felt compelled to do a little research above.

Hope you are right that he didn’t sexually violate her. Whatever he did to her, he was remorseful about it to kill himself. Sounds like a truly sad situation all the way around that just should not have happened. An innocent child is gone unnecessarily :-(
Autopsy results for FS and CT will be released in a press conference Monday time place to be announced.

We don't know that he felt remorseful. He could have killed himself trying to maintain control over his own fate, knowing that it was only a matter of time before he was apprehended.

<modsnip>

My feeling is that if he is the murderer, then this is why he killed himself, if in fact he did kill himself. I know there are some differing opinions on how Jeffrey Epstein died, but I think it's likely the same thing---no remorse, just chose to avoid facing the consequences of his depravity. JMO.
