Despite my last comment, I also try to entertain the idea of another perp entirely. Like NewYork said, it'd be odd for someone who's guilty to publicly insert themselves in the drama. Maybe it's an instance of adding insult to injury...like, wow that girl I didn't like is missing and I want to make sure everyone knows what she did to me. Could be as simple as someone being vindictive and immature. Sad, nonetheless.

Perps are well known for inserting themselves in cases in various ways. To keep an eye on what is being said, to feel powerful etc. They do things like organize searches or get on social media so I don't find that odd at all.

In fact i will be stunned if it isn't OMM. His family life is at stake and men have been known to kill for less. The coincidence of the back and forth calls scream out evidence and the taunting is something that i can see being done to cause confusion and also lash out at those who are cornering him when in reality he has cornered himself.

I am having THE WORST time with freezing. It's so frustrating. :(

Lol you are probably talking about the site but we are having an ice storm/freezing rain here tonight and the temperatures are freezing and my feet cannot get warm which is frustrating me. So I was totally relating to your post only to realize you probably meant the site as I'm having issues too.

I was saddened this morning to come to WS only to find that the HE thread was on Page 2.......so sad.

Prayers to her family.

Ugh, same here.....I think we're on snow day number 6 now. The kids will be in school until July at this rate! :tantrum:

So true. I just shoveled the giant slurpee from Monday and now ice is here. This weekend isn't looking good either. :banghead: It's going to be a very short summer for the kiddos.

Sorry, it's actually Chapin park. I was listening to something and typing at the same time.

It's about 16th Ave N. in Myrtle Beach. Right in the heart of the tourist area. The Chapin Library is right next to the park. Al hours of the night and day you can see the deals taking place, people passed out on the swings, etc.

I have attached a picture for reference - 10th Ave to 29th is considered the "downtown tourist areas" . You'll notice Chapin Memorial Library around 16th Ave, the park is right next to it.

The poice station is on 10th and Oak. Just behind that would be Carver and Dunbar streets - two of the most dangerous street in MB. I just to work on Oak and would travel between the police station, city offices and court houses all day. You would see cares leaving Carver and Dunbar, head straight over to Grey or Nance streets and then back to Carver and Dunbar, all day long, making deals.

Locals know not to walk the streets here, day or night. Def. do not go out on the beach at night - so many armed robberies. From 10th Ave to 29th Ave, from the beach to 17 Bypass, tourists love to walk this area between the hotels and Broadway at the Beach. Locals KNOW not to do that because this is where about 70% of the robberies take place in myrtle beach, all hours of the day!
(Just for future reference. )

Hardly any of this is reported in the media. If you look at the public index, the crime report sites, MB's Citizen to Police site, you will see the sheer numbers of crimes not reported.

I don't know if anyone has this website but I used it quite a bit working as a Paralegal.

Thanks for the head up! Sorry for the OT, but my timeshares, which we've had in the family for about 30 years, are right opposite that, on Ocean Blvd. I used to take my kids on the swings at that park all the time when they were younger. I did think it looked a little seedy, but I never saw anything but a few hobos hanging around, closer to 17.

We go on the beach all the time right next to Pier 14 at night and have never had a problem. We don't bring anything with us but a bucket and a couple nets, but the worst I've seen is a couple, under the Pier, enjoying themself right in public (and I don't think it was a lady of the evening).

Working in the inner city, as I do, and having worked in NYC for many years, I always am on the lookout for potential problems. And since the Britannee Drexel case, and others, I always keep my boys close to my side, no matter where we go. They think their mama is way overprotective. But, we on WS know, you can't be too careful.

PS- we've been having break in after break in in my little town for the past few years and little is reported in the news. People are afraid housing values will go down. So, that part of it is not just about tourism. But, it's always about money in the end, it seems.

I thought the same thing :)

It would take a LOT to keep me from MB. The beaches are beautiful and there are so many fun things to do with the kids, close by. You have to be careful no matter where you go. When I want to go some place less "touristy" I will go to the Outer Banks, but the kids love MB.

I will say something I've noticed in the last few years. A lot more people wearing "colors", iykwim. I don't necessarily think these people are locals. But, where they go, crime seems to follow. I think anywhere that becomes really popular with tourists, and that has a lot of attractions, will become a higher crime area. Cause you have to have money to go there. I remember when we first starting going to MB, it was just a family beach. No attractions really, other than the Pavilion (yes I really miss it but they've done any amazing job with the beach area across the street from there). And things were much, much cheaper then. MB used to be a relatively inexpensive place for a family to go. No more.

AC is still a dump, but oddly I feel safe going there. If you can make it past the druggies and hookers to the boardwalk, you're fine. And they do have a nice outlet/shopping district now, which is a couple blocks from boardwalk, but relatively safe (during the day). No one goes there for the beach though, lol.

OT
This really cracked me up because I totally agree with you. Whenever we went to AC in the past, we made a beeline for the Casinos and once inside, it was like whewwww, we are safe now. :floorlaugh:

Its kind of sad there in AC because there is so much room along the beaches and other streets for the whole area to be fixed up into a much nicer area.

I'm confused, this is thread 13 and page 30 something.

Paris is correct that all they were meaning is when there is not a recent enough post on a case, it gets bumped to the 2nd page tab within the "Missing Forum Discussion" list of cases.

As soon as a new post gets entered on the case, it goes to the 1st page again. That is why some people will "bump" a case by posting a "bump" message.

There are so many cases here at WS, it is really kind of sad all the missing people. :(

Snowyowl posted something last night about a woman age 22 going missing around MB in 1999. And talked about some of the circumstances surrounding it. I looked it up and provided a link to her charley project page. (Snowys post has been deleted, not sure why)
I do not think it's related to this case at all but when I looked at the details what I found interesting was the comment by authorities.

"Authorities are searching for Isley in an effort to question him regarding Lisa's disappearance. There have been no arrests in her case and he is not considered a suspect."

It cements in my mind that LE never names a suspect. If you read the details of this case it is apparent there should be one.

Unfortunately for Lisa, hurricane Floyd hit on 9/16/99 only 4 days after her friend discovered she was missing so I think any investigation into Lisa's disappearance got brushed aside. Lisa was last seen 9/8/99 and also unfortunate for her, she was keeping close company with one guy who didn't notify anyone until 9/12/99 that she "took off" on 9/9/99.

Sad. This seems solvable.

Hiya! I've been following from the beginning and just got caught up. Regarding whether OMM lied about the 6am phone calls, does anyone remember way way back, was it reported that her phone call to her roommate was the last time anyone "will admit" to having talked to her?

Was there ever a time when OMM did not admit to the phone call at all? Seems like no, because the PR states he admitted it at the time. So where/why do I remember this "will admit" language? TIA

I have a few friends in LE here and they will tell you that the two most dangerous places here in Myrtle Beach for robberies are number 1-Walmart parking lot. 2-The beach at night. I won't go either of those places without "packing"....

I remember the "will admit" language.
Knowing all we know now, I'm thinking that SM admitted to talking to HE but not at the 6am hour. At least when he was initially questioned. He most likely offered up I talked to her last night to tell her to stop calling. That probably would not have been the 6am call.
I hope he was later confronted with the 6am calls and would like to know his responses.

I think the will admit language was in reference to no one will admit talking to her after 3:41 call.

<eta this is in response to JulesinVA post the quote didn't show up>

It was in several articles, so that is probably why you remember it. Here is one:
http://www.live5news.com/story/24273295/horry-county-police-investigating-missing-woman
"Her mother said her date dropped her off at her house. Heather called her roommate to tell her how she had a great time. That is the last time anyone will admit to talking to her."

Maybe you can help me. What press release says that OMM admitted the phone call "at the time"? TIA

ETA: Those articles were early on, and they probably didn't have the information about LE speaking to OMM at that time.
