Murdaugh met with SLED agents and a sketch artist after his release from the hospital on Sept. 6 to produce composites of the gunman and truck from the shooting, Griffin said. So far, no drawings have been released to the public. Griffin said neither Murdaugh nor SLED were satisfied with the accuracy of the sketch of the gunman.

SLED spokesman Tommy Crosby would not say if agents met with Murdaugh, and he said the agency had no information to release about the vehicle or its driver.

Im irritated over the lack of info to the community and I’m not a local. There have been zero updates in just the simplest of ways. ‘We are still working on the case and have confirmed there is no threat to the public. We will continue to update you as we gather new info’. Just a statement as opposed to total silence.

That’s pretty much exactly what they say whenever an outlet reaches out for comment.

I would expect the Colleton county sheriff to have to answer to the “no threat” nonsense but like several SC law agencies, this one is corrupt too with a sheriff pleading guilty less than a year ago for being crooked, so I guess the current one won’t be up for some time. What a disgrace.

This is interesting, rehab then protective custody. IMO either this guy was working and living in a very dark world or he was a druggy, ne'er do well that lived well above his means and got caught. I'm tossed and waiting on more...

Right. And as I recall this is not the first time this particular lawyer has said something at odds with either the facts or what others say happened.

Good questions. I am also curious as to how liable the Law Firm is for a Partner's "misappropriating funds". Don't they have a responsibility to their clients to protect them once they have been hired from a firm stand point? I bet the phones are blowing up with people getting in line. I will not be surprised to see that firm blow up and everyone running for personal cover. This is a really big mess.

I don't see the firm blowing up. In a legal situation, most people want the lawyer that can win. Not much has changed. That law firm can still be a heavyweight

There are LOTS of people who are "high functioning" addicts, meaning that they take substantial quantities of intoxicating substances, and are still able to work, drive, etc. And this is particularly true of opiates, as long-term users build up tolerances to their effects.

Well said and interesting fact about opiates equating to alcohol in this sense. As a side note, my step father was a long term alcohol addict who held a senior management position before retiring.

His practice was to retain and reward capable deputies for a variety of reasons. One of which was that the practice went a long way towards covering up any losses of control at work or alcohol induced interferences with work.

I do hope he gets the help he needs. This guys life is spinning out of control. I really feel for his son BM and his brothers (especially Randy) who seem to really care about him. My prayers to MM's family also who's head must be spinning in circles with all this coming out after losing two family members.

If client money is gone and the firm doesn't cover it then I think the firm is DOA. JMO.

I know that it has been reported that MM and PM were killed with different types of weapons (see upthread), but I am most curious about whether they were killed at different times.

Perhaps the perpetrator murdered one of the two victims, disposed of the murder weapon, and was caught by the other victim while doing something incriminating. The perpetrator then had to use a different weapon to murder the second victim.

Has anything been reported to the effect that it has been confirmed that they were killed at the same time? (Law enforcement mist likely has this information.)
