Interesting timing on going to substance abuse treatment, immediately when LEO probably had quite a few questions, and the financial pyramid was finally crumbling. Residential substance abuse treatment is one of the few places you can go, and "hide" from everyone, including LEO. LEO needs a subpoena to question you, if they can even find where you are. Layers of HIPAA, protected health information....the movie "Clean and Sober" with Michael Keaton comes to mind, similar situation.

I can't believe that John Marvin testified that the boat crash was blown out of proportion. I think that was the most jaw-dropping statements I've heard in the trial, second to "Alex Murdaugh would like to take the stand".
Seems to be all about impact to them or their reputation?
Not that poor girl, Mallory, who took days to find. Sad testimony. But shows what it seems, matters to the defendant and his family. And it doesn’t seem to be about anyone else. MO.

question of the day: did you know your "Police Chief Friend" (paraphrasing with friend) was LOANED money by AM? answer: no. note: this was about a month after the murders. Greg Alexander, Yemassee police chief received $5k as a loan for his parents. how nice, other people's money.
$5K reportedly

If PM didn't have his usual truck, then would be assassins would not know he was there...just a thought.
Interesting thought unless would be assassins were known to him and in communication with him, or spying on the residence.

Unpopular opinion but I thought JM seemed honest and forthcoming in his testimony today. I understand everyone hates AM and believes he’s guilty, me included, but I think it’s unfair to peg his brother as being a liar and manipulator simply because he is testifying for the defense because he believes his brother is innocent. He’s testifying under oath & we have no evidence to support that JM is a liar.

I hope not. The Beach family and other's suing the estate of MM, PM and AM, himself will be the losers if that is the case. I want it to be glorious and resplendent with wild life, sunflowers, and corn for those who have been grifted by these folks.
You're very right, I take it back and hope they've been good little hogs and the place looks like a paradise <3

Well, he certainly lied by omission when he didn't tell law enforcement that that was actually his brother on the kennel video.

Totally agree, they had it all planned. The Labor Day 'shooting' was a sympathy ploy and to get SLED off his *advertiser censored*, they had finally called him a suspect. His brothers/lawyers high tailed him to detox and then to rehab to keep him away until they could come up with some half baked story and even then it was ALL A LIE. He was at the kennels. Doofus.

I bet Alex, Dick and Jim all pooped their collective pants when that video became public. :)

And remember, I believe, didn’t the defendant testify that he had indicated to his son (the slain one?) that he would head to rehab as soon as the boat crash matter/trouble he was in was ‘solved’ or something?
Well as soon as he was slain, that seemed to change it, and the defendant entered rehab I believe? MOO.

I wasn't able to listen to a lot of today's testimony. Did the Defense actually make any new points that a reasonable juror might think matter?
Forensic testimony, crime scene analyst said that it was a contact wound on Paul, the shooter would be covered in blood, skull fragments, possibly, no probably, injured from pieces of skull, would be too stunned to “run" and get a second gun, why in his opinion there were 2 shooters. Also, said Paul was shot from the back of the head, contact from shotgun, gases made it like an explosion, but for some reason it did not explode his brain or cause projectiles, damage to the front of his face. The other forensic guy was just an expert on the direction of the wounds in the body. He said the buckshot/pellets we’re not all going up some we’re going down. It all seem to contradict the 5’2’’shooter theory they used last week. Moo

I think it was all for show, hide and get a plan, starting to create their narrative. Alex can sign releases of any and all medical information that he wants to give to anybody. There should be numerous blood tests to prove the level of drugs in his system, they know there were barbiturates in his system after the roadside shooting so accessing his medical records is not the issue.

he should be in jail for the rest of his life. Before he testified, I thought they still might have a way to get him off but after his testimony and admitting to his crimes, I think his financial crimes are a done deal. I think it might make a difference of what type of prison he is sent to, if he is convicted of murder versus a white-collar financial crime. I am very much hoping for a guilty verdict on the murders moo
Maggie and Paul very much deserve justice. Alex needs to be held accountable for their murdesr as well as his financial misdeeds. I'm with you on a guilty verdict for everything. Alex is an evil, cold, heartless, con man.

MOO
