Arrested black male, dob 1994, Nathaniel David Rowland.

Arrest after traffic stop of black impala Sat at 3AM. Vehicle had victims blood and her cell phone. Foot chase to apprehend defendant.

Body located by turkey hunters about 40 ft off a rural road in wooded area that was not readily accessible. (Clarendon County).

Back seat of vehicle had child car seat, and child locks employed so victim could not escape.

State lab confirmed blood belonged to victim.

Kidnapping and murder arrest charges will be posted on website within 60 minutes.

Nathaniel David Rowland has been arrested in relation to the murder of Samantha Josephson in Columbia, South Carolina, on March 29. He was driving a black Chevy Impala. Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said that Josephson’s blood was found in the Impala as well as her cell phone.

Chief Skip Holbrook told the media on March 30 Josephson’s body was found at 3:45 a.m. in a wooded area in Claredon County, South Carolina. The investigation is being considered a homicide investigation. The chief said that Josephson’s body was discovered in a “very rural” part of Claredon County by hunters.

Rowland had the child safety locks on the back of the car, making escape from the car impossible.

You can see a face in the front passenger seat when it pulls in, just before Samantha opens the door to get into the back seat of the car

Locking the child locks makes this premeditated murder

There was a child seat in the back as well, so they will use that as a defense for the child locks being on.

BBM. How in the world did he know she would jump in his car and so boldly pull into the handicapped space with so many people hanging around?? All he had to do was unlock the car and she jumped in. He was going back for more, didn't even bother to clean his car up

CPD: Police stopped suspected Chevy Impala at 3am Saturday morning and found a large amount of blood in the trunk. Also found a cell phone, bleach, wipes. Child safety locks were also initiated. @wis10
