I really can't imagine much of legitimate defense being brought forward. I say that and then we had the case of Mollie Tibbets, where the perp claimed masked men kidnapped him and forced him to participate.

I'm looking forward to the defense's case to see what crazy stuff they come up with.

Over a hundred stab wounds on her body, maybe somewhere of 120

scratches on right cheek going in parallel like she was dragged

bruising on right side of head, stab wound on right eyebrow

she hemorrhaged, so she was alive when stabs happened

stab wound IN her right ear that goes all the way through

Just horrific. What a monster.

ME is holding up the multi tool and says “ yes, this is the weapon”

she bled out so much, she had little left, even to do toxicology

COD multiple stab wounds

Nathaniel Rowland back in court this morning as his murder trial continues. Judge Clifton Newman hearing objection before jury enters from Rowland’s attorneys over some of the photos prosecution plans to show today.

Dr. Thomas Beaver, forensic pathologist and MUSC professor, on the stand to talk about Samantha Josephson’s autopsy. Took 170 photos and 13 X-rays. “There were a lot of injuries.”

As many as 120 stab wounds on Josephson’s body, Beaver said. Said the number of wounds got to a point it doesn’t really add much to the autopsy report.

Beaver describing various wounds along the right side of Josephson’s body, says parallel wounds told him the weapon was unique, two blades. Solicitor Byron Gipson hands Beaver multitool found in trash behind Rowland’s girlfriend’s home. “This is the weapon,” Beaver says.

Beaver reiterates cause of death due to multiple stab wounds, says stab wound behind ear could have been lethal, as well as a severed bone in the neck typically associated with strangulation. Says in this case he believes knife broke the bone.

The Court TV discussion speculated that robbery was the motive and when she didn’t hand over money, ATM card etc and fought back it escalated to this brutal attack. I think they are probably right.
He could have just pushed her out the car and gone to find another easier victim. He had choices, he didn’t have to kill her in such frenzied brutal way. Complete lack of human compassion.
And afterward, casually dumps her body, rides back to Columbia trying to use her ATM card., goes to his girlfriend’s with a blood soaked car, tries to get a little money selling her phone, half-#ssed cleaning the car but still drove around in it the next night because wow you don’t want to miss hanging with your friends. This guy, and I’d include his friends, care nothing about other people. These are predators in the worse sense.

I'm so sorry Sami had to endure all of this violence in her last moments. Thoughts of strength to her family and loved ones.

Perfect summary. This guy was full of rage.

Are they on break?
I had a dr appt this morning... rushed home, turned on the TV to Law & Crime.... Verizon says it’s now a channel I have to pay extra for
So I’ve been trying to watch on YouTube

Interested to see how much of a.case the defense will put on, if any at all (I think they will).

I believe it's only been rumored by the defendant's family back in 2019, that NR went to a party, passed out , and the inference is then that the car was taken by someone. But I don't recall that being mentioned by the defense in opening.

For me they would need several (credible) witnesses to verify that NR was at some kind of gathering and passed out (unlikely) or other independent evidence placing him at said gathering (vid surveillance, cell phone data, drunken photos posted on social media) to make suggestion that car was.taken plausible.

Otherwise, the suggestion is that the car was stolen, murder committed and the car thief/killer respectfully returned the vehicle back to where it was stolen for NR to continue on with his day as normal, except for the horrific murder scene he left NR to clean up.

For me, with the totality of the evidence and seeing the ATM surveillance (while not confirming it was NR) where he is completely covered from head to toe, it seems reasonable that NR committed this crime and did not leave traces of himself on Samantha. It really brings to mind the terror of what happened to her. :(
