The offer of a $25,000 reward for information on the whereabouts of a missing Aynor teen ends at midnight. Jordan, and his wife Missy, Zack's mom, said their hope has changed over the last year since their son disappeared.

"In the beginning you just hope it was a misunderstanding and he forgot to contact anybody," Lonnie Jordan said. "And then it changes to you don't know what's happening. And today, we just hope someone comes forward and tells us where he is."

They believe if the teen could have contacted someone he would have by now.

"I know my child, and he would have called mom. If he could have, I know he would call his mom," said Missy Jordan.

Don't know how often rewards help info come forward, but could be
more came to LE around time reward was set to expire that helped lead to arrests

I don't think any of us expected this. RIP Zach.

I assume he had some kind of relation to these two, but what would trigger a mafia-style execution of all things?

Dennis said officials did not search for Malinowski’s remains on Saturday. “We’re still investigating leads,” he said. “We don’t have it pinned down to a location yet.”

On Saturday night, Jordan was still processing the news of the last few days. “All I know really is that they were arrested,” she said. “I know they were questioned for a while yesterday. And other than that, I really don’t know anything”...

While the arrests are an important break, Jordan said, she still needs one more answer.

The family of missing Aynor teen Zachary Malinowski held an emotional press conference Sunday afternoon...

Malinowski's mother, Missy Jordan, released a statement about therecent arrests in her son's case. She wore her son's Patriots jersey and said the arrests reflect great progress, but they are bittersweet for her family...

"I am so grateful that they have caught who has done this to my son. I'm not going to get any closure for myself as a mother until my child is buried in peace. I need to find him, and I need to bury him," said Jordan.

On Sunday there was a new revelation in the case. Zach's mother says she recognized one of the suspects immediately; Christopher Brown. "I did know the one boy,” said Jordan. “I had seen him before, he was supposed to be Zach's friend"...

Looking ahead, the family is waiting for word from police about when and where they can start a new search effort for Zach.

Also, this week, the Horry County solicitor says both suspects should be back in court for bond hearings related to their murder charges.

Horry County Police say that a "detailed statement" from a witness was the key to the arrest last week of two men in the murder of a missing Conway 19-year-old...

The witness "was provided intimate details of the crime by one of the defendants," police said in kidnapping and murder arrest warrants for both men.

Police also said in the arrest warrants that "The (witness) information is corroborated with evidence found at the victim's residence and the victim's property and car which were located burned on Valley Forge Rd in the Aynor section of Horry County."

it seems that a female acquaintance of the two perps recognized a beaded necklace that the victim had worn on one of the perps after the disappearance and tipped off LE .

In a "missing persons" police report also released on Monday -- Malinowski's mother filed the report on Sept. 27 2013 -- police also detail that a woman noticed "a black and red bead necklace that (a person) was wearing that belonged to the victim" the day after Malinowski vanished.

I hate this. I feel that if he was a 19 year old "FEMALE" I probably would have heard of his case. I have a daughter AND a son. [emoji53]

I disagree and feel that it more has to do with his outward appearance to those who don't know him personally. The first thing some people do when they read a missing person story is check out the person , at least that is what all reporters do. So you go to FB, Twitter ,all the SM accounts to get pictures and a feel for this persons character (not Zack in particular but any missing person, or victim). Why do you think prostitutes and known drug users /dealers get low interest in these cases as opposed to a college kid? You can go through the files here on WS and just check out the number of views and how they drop off after the initial reports . It's sad because human life shouldn't be judged by who you know, where you live or what you live in (trailer or mansion)where you went to school or if you have a criminal record among other things but it is.

The missing report was filed on AUGUST 27. That article is wrong.

just to clarify, the date the report was filed as written in the article is incorrect but the rest of the article we assume is correct....just one thing, his mother said he lived with his grandparents but the address given as his is redacted as is the person filing the complaint(his mother) yet the address of where the incident took place is there for all to see. Now I thought he was kidnapped out of his home(grandparents house) or was he kidnapped out of his mother's house and the report released his mother's address which they redacted later in the report? Or is that his grandparents address? Am I making any sense here? LOL

just took a look at ZM's FB and saw his girlfriend . I'm trying to word this so it doesn't get deleted. The person arrested Javon Gibbs ( Von Ge) ,has a common FB friend with ZM's gf.
ZM has a memorial page under Ace Savage...friended by Von Ge

Martin testified that Smith told investigators Gibbs said he and Brown got into a fight with Malinowski outside his grandmother’s home. According to the version of events relayed to investigators by Smith, Gibbs and Brown stuffed Malinowski in the trunk of his car and drove to an unknown location. Martin continued by saying, according to Smith, Gibbs shot Malinowski in the chest and then his car was set on fire.

Motive: drug deal altercation.

Judge Mayers:
After the hearing he said even though it is believed Gibbs was the triggerman, he feels there is enough evidence to charge both men with the kidnapping and murder.
“There is in South Carolina ‘the hand of one is the hand of all’ rule. Any individuals acting together in concert to complete and act — whether one pulls the trigger or another pulls the trigger — both are guilty,” he said.

And now we know more about what happened to Zachary than we know about Heather Elvis.

An Horry County grand jury indicted two Conway men on murder and kidnapping charges in connection with the disappearance of Zachary Malinowski, according to court records. Christopher Anfony Brown, 21, and Javon Dion Gibbs, 20, were each indicted on the charges in the August 2013 incident involving the 19-year-old man...

In the arrest warrants filed against Brown and Gibbs, a witness "provided intimate details of the crime by one of the defendants" about how Malinowski was forced from a home on S.C. 905 in August 2013 and killed in the western part of Horry County. Police also said in the warrant that Malinowski's body was discarded in that area.
