Weathersby is described as 6 feet tall with brown eyes and black hair, and is 31 years old. He reportedly left his home for a walk on the morning of Sept. 4 without his phone or wallet while wearing a white shirt and black shorts, and his not been seen since.

So far, the search for a missing 31 year old man from Sioux Falls has come up empty. Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum says Tyler Weathersby hasn’t been seen since going for a walk the morning of Sept. 4, 2024.

• Thum appreciates the assistance they are getting from the general public.
• Tyler left his wallet and phone at home.

I’m confused as well, there is no update , very little info (not counting the speculations all over internet) and LE is not excluding any possibility.

What is the terrain like? Is it possibly a daily short hike through nature or around a populated neighborhood?

Edit: moo - short walk without phone isn't that weird. I WFH and many of my colleagues go for "unplugged walks" to sort of simulate a commute to work, without screens. As an entrepreneur Tyler's probably in front of his email all day so a phone-free walk would probably be a grounding way to start the day. But I am also concerned with his mental health based on some of the articles posted here.

I personally see no likely connection between her past mistakes, urged on by her deceased ex-boyfriend, and harm coming to her current fiancé 6 years later.

I would lean toward self-harm, but obviously my own opinion.

Her background may have zero to do with his disappearance and it may have everything to do with it…we just don’t know. Police I am sure are looking at all possibilities. I do find her description of her deceased BF very telling. In the article she mentions that she looked up to him as a ‘king’ and did everything he asked. Also that he would manipulate her into doing things she didn’t want to do. I remember the incident and I think I saw the video on one of the more vivid sites on the net.

In today’s world people seem to want to do anything to get ‘famous’. Even at the expense of life itself.

I hope that this relationship didn’t turn toxic. This gentleman doesn’t seem to have the kind of background where he would do something rash to himself. He survived a bad childhood, went to school, was a dancer and has been doing online sales for some time.

Have there been any searches announced? If my SigO disappeared on a walk I would walk their possible routes until I couldn’t stand. I would search the woods, the verge of the road, the off shoot roads…everything and I personally would not rely on LE to do it for me. Of course those of us who follow these cases are well versed in the failures of LE in many areas. No two departments in the US train the same way. In fact in my area you can become LE (Sheriffs dept.) with no training. The sheriff has one year to put the deputy through the BLET (basic law enforcement training) which is a 3-6 month course. And of course a sheriff is an elected official and is oftentimes someone with no background in LE. Anyway I am going OT.

Let’s hope there is a good outcome for this man.
