Well I must apologise for offering you some daylight in the form of some contemporary reality, patently you do no research, otherwise you would have unearthed this gem:

UK,

Why do you think Patsy wrote this ludicruous note. She is not stupid by any means and neither is John. Do you think they did it intentionally so that they could say - would I actually write a 3 page note so you could tell it was me.

Very interested in your opinion.

Oh, isn't there?

Wait for it, wait for it.

Really? Well, let me take a crack at it!

1) The FBI believes "the note was written in the house, after the killing and indicated panic." Since they do this kind of work EVERY DAY, I'd like to think they know what they're talking about. You have to wonder how someone could come to such a high-risk crime so unprepared. But that's just a starter.

2) What tips us off about the note being written after the crime is that the Ramseys disobeyed EVERY instruction in it, thus guaranteeing that JB would be killed. Why would they do that?

Let's go from the general to the specific. Again, it helps to take a holistic view of the case:

3) Why would someone leave a note claiming to be a kidnapper if there was no kidnapping? Since there was no attempt at kidnapping ( the lack of evidence of any kind of struggle on JB's part bears that out), the note was fake. If JB had been alive, there would be no need to write a fake note. So why would someone write a fake note when they knew that JB was already dead?

4) Because someone needed an excuse for why JB's body would be found in the house.

Here's how I got there:

5) The last paragraph sets the stage for JB being found dead: "You stand a 99% chance of killing your daughter if you try to outsmart us."

6) The Ramseys disobeyed the specific instructions: they were warned not to call police or JB would die. They called police. The note warned, "if we catch you talking to a stray dog, she dies." They called a whole mess of their friends over. That they disobeyed is not a "guess," it's a fact.

EQUALS:

The note writer knew JB was already dead and needed a reason for JB to be found dead inside the house.

Good catch, SuperDave!:clap::clap: The Ramseys' mistake was that there were no footprints in the snow and no broken spiderweb for the SFF to have fled out the basement after they called all their friends!:bang:

Solace,
Looks like the note is the excuse needed to dial 911 first before you look outdoors or dial friends. No note, must mean no intruder, since everything used in JonBenet's homicide, was sourced internally.

As Ive speculated before, there may have been a last minute change of plan, the original to dump JonBenet outdoors redirecting attention away from the house. For some reason this was abandoned and JonBenet's sexual assault, staged or not, was then covered up, beneath a layer of size-12's, longjohns, and blankets. None of this clothing would be required if the intention was to casually observe that JonBenet had been garroted and sexually assaulted, a prerequisite for a body discovered outdoors.

So JonBenet was redressed in the size-12's, possibly wiped down again, as per Coroner Meyer's observation, then placed into the wine-cellar, with appropriate staging such as duct-tape and wrist-restraints, again items not required to portray a kidnap and depositing outdoors.

So although it may have started with John running the post-mortem staging, it appears that Patsy took over in the latter stages. e.g. that is John redressed JonBenet in those size-12's!

No since the ransom note was composed on legal pad found in their house, including rough drafts. The author had to realize a finger would be pointed at the residents. What it appears to be is a catalog of hints and threats as to whom the kidnapper may be, that will be why it is so long. The Ramsey's needed some rationale to feign innocence, and buy some time. They definitely assumed that they could be arrested. John's attempt to flee interstate using his private plane, shows you how interested he was in waiting for any kidnapper to phone in with information on JonBenet. Yet another reason proving he had full knowledge prior to Patsy screaming at him to come down stairs that morning!

.

But has it occurred to you that Patsy misspelled 'business' on purpose to deflect attention away from herself, when she managed to spell 'attache' and 'hence' just fine?????

Yes, she spelled attache and hence perfectly. She left the accent mark off of attaché, in her sample RN....BUT SO DID THE RANSOM NOTE AUTHOR, hmmmmm...could they be one in the same? Gee, decisions, decisions.

Thanks, LinasK. But all I did was go from the general to the specific.

Good catch, Ames!

Thanks SD. If you enlarge the RN, you can see there is no accent mark. At first it looks like there is one, but it is actually the hook on end of the y,in the word you, above the word attache. You have to put it in a document, and enlarge it to see. Compare it to the Y, in the word you, over the word monitor. Almost all of the Y's have a hook at the end for some reason. I zoomed it to 400 percent, and you can see plainly that what looks like an accent mark over the e, in attaché, is actually the hook at the bottom of the y.

I always wondered about that!

Yeah, I edited my post after you responded to it....here is the rest of it.

Now that I can view it firsthand... What kidnapper cares what size container (or that it's an attache for picking up the money) and that JR is well-rested????:waitasec::waitasec::waitasec: The demand amount is extremely specific and puny compared to his wealth. And why address it to Mr. Ramsey? Why not John or John Ramsey, JB's parents or John & Patsy???
It does seem written in a way to explain why little JB won't be around to see 1997.
Also, why tell him to transfer the money when he gets home??? Why not just say "Bring the money in a brown paper bag"?

The very points I've been making.

That's what we all are wondering. A kidnapper just wants the money, he isn't going to care what the money is in. What if the Ramsey's didn't even HAVE an "adequate size attaché", what then??

Moreover, (ala hence, another favorite of mine) wouldn't a real kidnapper get a kick out of the fact that they deprived John of sleep??? They would enjoy an exhausting delivery, all they really want is the money or to hurt John or both.

Maybe the point is to make it sound like the kidnapper is poor and thinks it's a lot of money and heavy???

I agree...what sort of kidnapper cares if John is well rested, or not? It's like..."I advise you to be well rested. Don't forget to brush your teeth before leaving the house. Also, its pretty cold outside, so I advise you to wear a heavy coat or you might get sick, and that wouldn't be good. Oh yeah, and you may want to wear a pair of ear muffs too".

And have on clean undwerwear if you get into an accident on the way!

Like I said, the note has a very "motherly" quality.

So, a mother, from the South, middle-aged, well-educated with a habit of being "flourishy." Darn, I know there's SOMEONE who fits that description...

LOL...yeah, don't forget the clean underwear.

Yeah, there has to be SOMEBODY that fits that description. Maybe if we put our heads together, we can think of someone.

Riddled with assumptions and claims, SD and UK Guy, including but not limited to 'all items sourced to the house'. This is a falsehood, as neither the cord, tape, or mystery blunt instrument have ever been sourced. Another falsehood, that 'no struggle' = 'no kidnapping attempt' is a matter of opinion, presented as conclusive fact. It cannot be resolved as fact with the available information.

The RN author could be a EASL student of SFF. If you want to see the foreign penmanship style in action, look to the letter 'f' in 'follow our instructions' on the page above.

Sorry, I'm not getting ESL student from that. :snooty:The only thing different about that f from the others is the tale at the bottom. How does one letter taken by itself say ESL student?????
