You know what, Hopeful? You can do it! I quit Jan 10, with the help of E-cigs and a friend who quit back in August and didn't TELL me!!!! And she's an ornery kinda gal in Alabama by way of Texas, she doesn't take lip from anyone. But, she honest and loving, and my best friend.
The first week is a challenge. If you go E-cigs, drink a LOT of water, and slowly bring your nic content down. You won't get "Nic Fits" and go ballistic like cold turkey. AND, no worries about the "Refrigerator Monster". You won't be eating everything in sight. And it's better than any patch because you control how much nicotine you're consuming. I have yet to find anything negative about E-cigs, medically or otherwise. I am at zero nic now:rockon:

Tons of info and lots of encouraging peeps.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
I had quit smoking for about 7 weeks at the beginning of this year. I was using E-cigs and Tootsie Pops. Then Tootsie Pops became a part of this trial. (Damn you Jodi Arias!)
Long story short, I was now too embarrassed to throw a couple of bags of Tootsie Pops in my shopping cart at Walmart. I just KNEW what the other shoppers and cashiers must be thinking about ME. :blushing:
I went back to smoking because the E-cig alone just didn't do it for me. (I'm using Green Smoke.)I think I'm ready to try again and this time I'll use your tip about the water. Thanks :blowkiss:
