and I'm afraid I'm going to now spend hours listening/watching like I did with Elton John last night...

I tend to listen to a lot of folky type music these days although I do blare Springsteen on a day like today with the sunroof open. I really like Alison Krauss, especially for sad love songs-that's a real picker upper isn't it? She started out really blue grassy twangy but has been putting out more folkish music.

I think she has a great voice. These are both with her band Union Station

and the really sad Ghost in this House

I haven't read any of the 50 shades books. I know there was a big hub-bub about the book when it first came out. Walmart had it shrink-wrapped, so I couldn't look to see if I would like to read it.
What do you think about it? Is it a good read or just smutt? I think I've had enough smutt with the JA trial and instead of being intriguing, sex was disgusting (I mean, not that sex is disgusting- oh, you know what I mean!).
How is the writing? Is it a good read or just a waste?

Overrated imo...I'm glad it opened people's eyes to alternative sex--but ive read better.:blushing: however if you're interested in social phenomena-its worth a read.
I think it was empowering to a lot of women who never explore the dark side...but nothing shocking on the erotic fiction front :cow:
Ive only read the first book...

(I always pictured Grey as more of a Kiefer Sutherland type btw...)

After I watched the Elton John videos I watched part of Diana's funeral where Elton John sang and then the conspiracies about her death and then I diagnosed myself with ADHD and turned off my Ipad. I wish. That would have been the sane thing to do but then I watched part of a weird preacher who supposedly predicted Diana's death.

Diana's death devastated me. Too few good people given us, and then taken oh too soon. That always seems to be the way.

Sorry, couldn't help it :innocent:

<respectfully snipped> People with personality disorders can hone in on just the right buttons to push to get what they want, for sure.

I agree that this "go away go far far away/no let's get it on" behavior probably turned some of the jurors away from DP. The behavior of people with PD and the subsequent behavior of the people they victimize, often defies logic in the eyes of stable, adjusted people who have not had the misfortune of dealing with people with PD.

Well said. We try to understand that behaviour using logic, yet much of BPD behaviour is not logical - but continuously created to be self serving - a never ending 'black hole'.

One of the many reasons CMJA makes my skin crawl and blood boil...............
"Zach Sobiech is 17 years old and diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that takes the lives of a large percent of its childhood victims. Given only months to live, Zach turned to music to say goodbye. His song "Clouds" spread, and soon, Zach's message was heard across the country. We wanted to help Zach spread his message, and bring awareness to increase support for finding a cure. So, we asked our friends to help out...they did."
