I have been wondering what this judge is doing that helps her come to her decisions. It seems like she takes extra long for each decision that has been made in this case. I get it she does not want to screw up and leave anything open for a mistrial bc she screwed up but argh all this waiting is making me nuts. I cant begin to imagine if Travis was family or a friend how annoying all this would be.

Her first DP criminal trial. Its the inexperience.

So....once again.....SS bends over backwards and sideways for CM and her enablers. I am not one bit surprised. :tsktsk:

On HLN, I'm watching the replay of Jodi entering the courtroom. She looks teary. Good. MAYBE Jodi is finally feeling the gravity of what she's done. I think she's able to compartmentalize, but not psycho enough to completely block it out.

Its for her. Sociopaths feel nothing but for themselves...she hasn't changed since her self serving post conviction speech. Some ppl truly are not human deep down

Not a popular opinion, but it's mine~~

I'm glad Travis' siblings were not in court, because she doesn't need to take anymore of their time and energy. Jodi is in prison until she dies. Nothing more they can do at this stage. To honor Travis, the Family needs to devote all the time to their own lives and Families.

Jodi does not deserve a single moment more of their time, energy or thoughts.

This afternoon I'm baking a pound cake and making a special dinner for a good friend of my daughter who is home from college for the summer.

Tomorrow morning I'm planning to drive down to the beach, play in the water, and take dozens of photographs of my husband and my daughter. On Saturday I'll get up before everyone else and drink tea on the terrace and listen to the birds singing.

Over the next four weeks, I'll be taking my grandkids to the movies. I'll be cuddling my kitty and loving my dog and hugging my daughter and kissing my husband and having long, comfortable phone talks with my brothers and sisters.

I'll be eating food I like, buying art supplies and new dresses, driving my car with the Beatles blasting in my ears. I'll be going to Saint Augustine to see the fireworks over the old fort on the Fourth of July.

And I get to be with my husband. And I get to swim. And enjoy the sunshine.

CKJA gets to spend the next four weeks alone in a jail cell.

Thanks. Very true.

I get everyone needs to start out somewhere but I think the bigger high profile death penalty cases should only go to those who have been there at least once before. Maybe a death penalty case that is big in AZ but not one that has hit global curiosity like this one has. The weight of a death penalty case is big I'm sure add in the media must make it hell. They should have these judges test the waters instead of throwing them to the sharks right off the bat.

How does she decide on her decisions? She asks Willmott and Nurmi what CM wants.....seems she spends a lot of time in chambers with those 3. As an afterthought, maybe for appearance sake, she eventually allows the DA and family of the victim to join her private meetings. After all decisions are made.....in favor of CM, of course!

I know....sarcastic....but, the leaning heavy on the side of CM has been a constant theme in this trial. Always explained away as SS not wanting to try the case over....death penalty case....etc. If she is so terrified of reversal, then she needs to recuse herself from any future DP cases. :twocents:

It breaks my heart that Travis, who was a grown man, was unable to defend himself against Arias. She had a gun but used a knife to torture him. What a monster. I've rarely come across someone so evil.

Take care you guys.

Hello Fellow Crazies!

So... today the shackled one was sporting stripes and a whiter shade of pale... And its mouth was moving at its usual break-neck speed.
There was a status hearing that concluded in the status being unknown.
The intended new trial date is now set to be another status hearing.

The wheels of the short bus go round and round ... round and round ... round and round....

Am I all caught up?

@ChairofNurmi 19m
#jodiarias arrived to court w the shackles, stun belt, no makeup, armed guards around her
And...she wasn't wearing her glasses that she needs for "distance" vision. She makes me ill.
I wonder if the Alexanders felt like they had to be there today? I can't imagine how difficult this is for them. Clearly they want to be there, for Travis, each step of the way. I'd do the exact same thing for my sister.
Can you imagine how stressful it is for them not to know when they need to take off from work, worrying about who will cover for them at work while they're out, not able to make any plans because the date of the next phase is up in the air until July 18th, worrying about where they'll stay, etc. I wish JSS would take THAT into account, set the date, and get it over with!

I know you'd agree. I am so PO'd I could spit!!! we all are. what a piece of ch*t. Shes clanking in the courtroom!! :stormingmad: I'd like to clank someone!! Thanks for letting me vent. My friend died, a good person and I'm sad :please:...Luvya..:seeya:

So very sorry to hear you lost a dear friend. It's so hard but time heals. I've had that journey.

HLN just showed a very short clip of Jodi in court from today in stripes. She didn't look upset or unhappy to me.
I seriously think she's deluded enough to think this is all temporary and she'll get out on appeal. I really do. Ughhhh.

The Legal Q&A thread answers some questions on today. Just an FYI.

I've been watching the Zimmerman/Martin jury voir dire and selection. I have found it fascinating and extremely informative. Since I came to TA/JA late, I wondered if you all were able to watch the selection of the jury in this case and what your impressions of the prosecution and defandant attorneys was??

Zimmerman jury has been picked. Questioning now for alternates. Don't know why, but they keep harping that it's all female. So what?

So sorry about your friend. Deepest deepest sympathies to you.

I am going to offer to speak on behalf of CMJA. I will confess to you all that my intentions are duplicitous. I will start off nice as pie and then lower the hammer. I find her so heinous and vile. I watched the file video of her in the courtroom shuffling in. Her jaw was jutted out and her soulless eyes were menacing. I am reminded that I do not miss her ugly face. This needs to end. Soon.

Excellent question. I look forward to the answer as well. I missed it too.
