:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: My family needs to study this recipe! Ice trays are always empty, or have one ice cube left in them.

First time I made that recipe, they didn't turn out too good. I don't think I left them in long enough... After 10 minutes they were still all watery!

;)

Hi Bravo. I had the same problem at one time and one of the mods told me to delete my cookies and temporary internet files. It worked for me, and I haven't had a problem since. HTH.

ETA: I believe it was Beach who helped me out on that one.

I'll give that a go. Thanks for the reply/help.

The replies are hilarious! :floorlaugh:

Case in point:

I wanted to make your recipe but our well ran dry, so I didn't have any water to make ice. Since I was having a party, I really had to come up with a clear liquid substitute so I would have ice on hand. A word of warning: when you make vodka cubes your BIL will hit a tree with his new car and your sister will never speak to you again. LainieBug

And, on a totally different subject:

Thanks, Harmony!

More funny from "Carambola":

I made a few adjustments...... used a pot instead of trays. boiled instead of freezing. Added salt, potatoes, carrots and beef to the water. It turned out more like soup instead of ice cubes. Next time I will make a few more adjustments to try and get this recipe to work for me.

AGAIN PEEPS, pleassssse......DO NOT RESPOND IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM TO POSTS THAT INVITE DISCUSSIONS REGARDING THE ZIMMERMAN TRIAL. OH, AND THEN THERE IS THE POLTICAL ASPECT SO IT'S NOT JUST OFF TOPIC IT IS NOT PERMITTED AT ALL.....ZERO TOLERANCE.

Resist the temptation and move along. FYI: The Rusty Zimmerman case will be picking a jury on July 29th. If you loved JA's antics, you'll just love AS. Lots to read to catch up on. Thanks

re bold - I believe you mean Rusty Schneiderman?? LOL!

Hi LambChop!! :seeya:

She does have some nice clothes. Wonder if Jodi will be permitted to wear street clothes if they move on with the penalty phase???

Probably...defense will say it wouldn't be fair, it would bias the jury, etc., etc..

How true. No prison stripes, but she'll probably be back to wearing those nasty, ill-fitting khaki pants, so that's something.

I have a nice beef brisket slow-cooking in the oven for supper today. What is everyone else doing for Sunday dinner? TexMex turned me on to brisket with one of her posts, and now I'm hooked!

I'm thinking of her past appearance, when she gave her allocution response. She had already been convicted of aggravated premeditated murder, so she was in court as a convict. Nevertheless, she was dressed in street clothes, so for the reasons you give, aa9511, she will be able to wear something other than her stripes I would guess. Since shackles and chains plus three armed guards have been the order of her June and July appearances, we shall see. She is not trusted.

This is the recipe I use. I'll post it on the recipe thread as well:

CITRUS RUB
6 tbsp sea salt
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp mustard powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 large orange, juiced & zested
Whisk all spices together. Grate orange zest into the spice mix. Apply to meat. Save orange juice for the braising liquid.

BRAISING LIQUID
4 cups beef broth
1 cup soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
Juice from one orange
Coat brisket well with CITRUS RUB. Sear brisket on very high heat on the barbecue. Next, set in a deep pan and pour braising liquid over top. Heat barbecue to medium-high heat and set brisket on opposite side of the fire with fat side up. Maintain barbecue temperature between 180° F and 220° F and smoke 1 - 1¼ hours per pound, turning every 30 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and let sit for 20 minutes before slicing across the grain when meat is tender and falling apart. Drizzle with a little braising liquid. Great served on fresh kaiser rolls with fresh sliced tomato and sharp cheddar.

Today I thin sliced an onion to put in the liquid as well for flavor. Instead of doing it on the BBQ I brown it on the stove, and cook it at 300 degrees in the oven. Yummy.

Supper is at 6:00, and you are most welcome!

How are you doing today Kensie? Are you feeling better?

Thanks, set me a plate, I am coming!!! I will take any leftovers!!

Yes, I am feeling a little better. Thank you for asking. Food is beginning to sound good so that is a step in the right direction.

That's good to hear Kensie. I know what it's like to have the blues, and it takes a toll on your life. Please take care of yourself.
