so we had my daughters 2nd birthday party on saturday. It was really fun, mostly families with kids, but we do have some single friends who came. One of my husbands single friends is dating a really creepy girl. She basically stood in the corner the whole time, I offered her food, drinks, etc...went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. She was so strange. The biggest tell tale sign was when i brought my daughter and son over to say hi, who are both the friendliest happiest kids ever, and they both didn't even smile and ran away! (yes my 9 month old is running, although he looks like frankenstein when he does haha) Well, I went out front to check on my one friend who was having a cigarette in front, away from all the kids. At this same moment, this crazy girl my single friend brought comes running out the side yard. I asked her if she was okay and she looks at me and says "ARENT YOU PREGNANT?" in regards to the fact that I was talking to a friend smoking a cigarette. I responded "you can leave now and don't ever let me see your face again. they say children are the best judges of charachter and you completely creeped my kids out you gold digger!" (yes my single guy friend who brought her makes a lot of $$$). I never get upset or angry usually but something about her rubbed me wrong. Later that night, when my single friend came back, I told him that she reminds me of Jodi Arias, and I was being 100% honest. I told him she scares me and rubs me the wrong way and has some sort of personality disorder. Yes, I can't believe I told someone the person they are dating reminds me of Jodi Arias but I felt it needed to be said... ok rant for the day ended!

Hello All!
I'm new, but been reading most of this thread since the start of the trial.

I have to chime in to Mollyandme's observation. I concur with all replies. Follow your gut, your instinct, it's probably spot on or very close.

Short story: About 15 years ago I held a small dinner party at my home during the Christmas holidays, a friend invited his colleague (male) to our dinner. Upon first meeting in my home, my two dogs basically ran away from this guy (Lab and Golden Retriever), which they never do. My two dogs we're love bunnies! I admit, this guy did look creepy too. And after the dinner my best girlfriend pulled me aside and said, "I don't like him. It's something about his eyes." And she is very intuitive. A couple months later we saw his mug shot on the news! We all freaked out big time! Needless to say, this person is still in prison. I still get the willies thinking back.

One word..... Boundaries!

re bold - ^^ - I know what you guys mean - when we first moved here, we went to a bar to play pool near our place and started going there regularly on Friday nights, and there was one guy that was oh so friendly with everyone, but there was just "something" about him, that I just couldn't be his friend; my Huz couldn't understand it, but just had the "creeps" everytime he was around. So, 10 years later, this guy shot his girlfriend, who was pregnant at the time, in the back; he was just found GUILTY, and will spend the rest of his life in jail... ALWAYS trust your gut, I say!!

New tweet:

Jodi Arias ‏@JodiAnnArias

It took me a few decades, but I've realized the definition of "friend" is relative.

What's interesting about this tweet is the time that it was posted. This would seem to be outside of normal hours for phone calls, suggesting that this was discussed on a previous day and tweeted early this morning?

No more tweets have been deleted.

Her view of the world is once again on display with this latest pearl of wisdom.

I'm guessing that there are no friends, in the conventional sense, to be found to testify on her behalf in the mitigation phase.

re bold ^^ guess she'll have to get one of her family for that phase, IF they even want to do that! :floorlaugh:

Hi Daisymae!! :seeya:

I was wondering why her tweeting buddy would not testify for her. It is weird, you tweet this BS but you don't want to testify. Who cares what JA thinks anyway??
GRRRRR, she makes me sick.

Hi everyone!!!

Just a guess on my part but anyone having anything to do with JA likely has their own "paper trail". I mean one would have to be whack to maintain any contact (Her Family excluded)

I can't get the Maricopa Superior Court search page to load for confirmation, but Michael Kiefer has tweeter that there is a settlement conference on the docket for CMJA, scheduled for 10/24 at 10:00.

He says that it is toward the end of the docket, not at the beginning.

I will confirm when I can access the docket. In the meantime, if anyone else can confirm or deny this, please do.

I've posed a question in the Legal thread to find out if this is standard procedure before trial to see if the two sides can reach a settlement or if it means that something may be close in terms of a plea deal.

Don't want anybody, myself included, getting all excited :panic: for no reason.

Hard not to be stirred by this, with all of the conferences they've had I don't think I've ever seent he word 'settlement' attached. But you're right, it may be par for the course.

My insides are still going :scared:

daisy, I know you love animals and want to adopt all of them.

Thieves in Italy may be asking the owner of the "world's smallest" horse to pony up after stealing the steed and potentially holding it for ransom.

The animal was recently stolen from the 47th annual National Horse Show in Città di Castello, located in the country's Umbria region. A representative for the show told The Local that the steed's diminutive stature made him "particularly valuable," leading authorities to speculate he may be held for ransom.

The pint-size pony's petite proportions are particularly problematic, says his owner, Bartolo Messina, because at only 63 centimeters (2 feet) tall, "Charlie" can be easily hidden just about anywhere.

This was no precisely planned heist, either. According to Messina, the world's smallest horse thieves are believed to have cut a hole in the fence surrounding Charlie's enclosure Thursday night then absconded with him through a nearby tobacco field.

"We have been victims of a serious criminal act," an official associated with the horse show told local paper Corriere Dell'Umbria. The official emphasized the event's security, noting they "have always prevented ... similar incidents," and that this "shameful action ... has nothing to do with the horse world and its values."

Not to knock Charlie off his high horse, but a search of the Guinness World Records for the "smallest living horse" reveals the record is currently held by "Thumbelina," a miniature mare that's only 17.5 inches tall.

Here are the minutes from the only other settlement conference on the calendar (7/15/11), and yes, they were talking plea deal in that:

Read the minutes which record the scheduling of that settlement conference: http://www.courtminutes.maricopa.gov/docs/Criminal/062011/m4783386.pdf

Upon stipulation of the parties,

IT IS ORDERED setting a Settlement Conference on 07/15/2011 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Duncan in CCB-904

Okay, so at the status conference of 6/21 they stipulated a settlement conference would occur, and then at the settlement conference it was stated the prosecutor had no authority to make a deal. Am I getting this right? Do you think that's what this is, the defense again trying for a deal JM can't make?

Just back from a quick trip to Italy and couldn't get through customs with Charlie, so I had to leave him there. :floorlaugh:

not sure if theres a pregnancy forum on here so I will post this here lol. We aren't finding out the gender, it's gonna be a suprise but we did pick names already lol. Julie for a girl, James for a boy. Any thoughts on those? I'm trying to go with "normal" somewhat "classic" names.

Good names, Molly. :seeya:

James
James is a common royal name used in Europe and the English version of Jacob, and happens to be one of the most popular boy’s names of all time—in the top 20 for the past century. James is also one of the few truly ageless names—when you hear it, you don’t know whether the person referred to is five or fifty-five.

Julie
Origin:
French: Youthful; Jove''s child; a feminine form of Julian
