Hi YESorNO, where is the yellow? As for P.I. arias is nuts! I don't think the Judge will
let her go too far on the theme of not guilty! The fat lady has sung her last on that one. I think she is mentally flipping over the thought of prison. Dumb azz.:happydance: I read Beths page on FB. anyone can go in. Interesting twits(?) she posted. 45 jurors are already selected.Beth said when they go back on the 16th~or 20th ? the jury will be sworn in already, doing it in private~ oh you know what I mean! I get from that page over here and I have forgot :laughcry: The page only has a couple of reads but they are good ones. Read Nat. Enquirer also.:read: :HHJP:

I'm catching up on the first trial (I do admit I have skipped some of Squirmy Nurmi's questioning because he actually repulses me).

Up to Ms LaViollette's cross examination. Juan is telling her about CMJA's stalking behaviour with Bobby and Matt and l caught a superb screen shot of her looking daggers at Jodi. It made me laugh!

I honestly can't believe some of the bullpoop that Dr Samuels (hilarious on cross) and Ms LaViollette have come up with. She obviously is biased towards Jodi when she came in to testify.

@CourtchatterTV is usually a pretty reliable source, right? Is there is, or is there ain't a jury?

The yellow is gone. Lookin' good.

Oh and if Ms LaViolete is such an expert on domestic violence then how did she not recognise the true incidents of domestic violence in this relationship, the manipulation of Travis by Jodi, her repeated stalking of ex-boyfriends, her refusal to stop contacting ex-boyfriends when they asked, her repeated snooping on emails, MySpace and text messages of ex-boyfriends and ultimately the stabbing, slitting of his throat and shooting of Travis. She even abused Travis in death by portraying him as a sexual deviant, a paedophile and a woman beater with absolutely no justification! There is not one piece of evidence that Travis physically attacked Jodi. And yet Ms Laviolette claims to be an expert on domestic violence, or maybe her default position is that only women can be victims of domestic violence?

And this is my opinion as a domestic violence survivor.

You know 'attorneyatlaw' magazine isn't a real professional publication, right? It's an advertising vehicle for whoever buys a local domain franchise name. Sounds like Bond 'bought' himself an editor job or a domain name... egads.

There is a jury selected they just haven't been sworn in yet, presuming the lawyers made all their strikes Wednesday.

So she could get out in 25 if JSS sentences that way? LWP? Good Grief!
Yes, she could - in theory, but (thankfully) "life with the possibility of release after 25 years" is not the same as "life with parole". There is no parole for 1st degree murderers in Arizona. The only way she could be released after 25 years is through the clemency process. And (thankfully) it's extremely difficult to get clemency.

For one thing, the Clemency Board doesn't have any discretionary power. It can only evaluate a very limited and very strict set of criteria - far more difficult to meet than criteria for parole. For another, unlike parole, clemency has to be approved at two levels - first by the Board of Executive Clemency and then by the State Governor.

In fact, it's so difficult to get clemency that there's some debate about whether (if a jury doesn't choose death) having just two options for 1st degree murder - natural life, or life with the possibility of release after 25 years - violates the 8th Amendment, because in reality the latter option adds up to pretty much the same thing as the first and doesn't offer a "meaningful opportunity for release".

For instance, according to Clemency Board data, only 82 out 6,746 requests for clemency were granted by the governor in the last ten years - about 1.2%.

Arias, must surely be aware of this. And hopefully, suitably disturbed by the fact that there's no good outcome so far as she's concerned. No wonder she's hell bent on getting her conviction overturned.

Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well and miss all of my sidebar friends. I've just had a difficult time getting into the spirit of the whole retrial phase as I'm so sick and tired and repulsed by the disgusting, despicable killer to the point I can hardly stand to watch her, hear her, or even read anything about her. This should have all been over by now. Anyway, I'm still here, waiting and anticipating justice for Travis. Still love you all :loveyou: In the meantime I'm just mostly lurking :lurk:

Oh, by the way YorN, are you preparing yourself to see "The Ghost :heartbeat: and Mrs Muir"? It will be airing again on TCM. :seeya:

Because...she was not paid to recognize that Travis was the victim and Jodi the victimizer.

I would love to know how many actual experts on domestic violence turned down the "opportunity" to testify on Arias' behalf.

And am glad that, as an actual victim, you have survived.

ETA: P.S. Am loving your feedback as you plough through the trial videos. A great refresher course, and reminder of all sorts of great moments!

Because...she was not paid to recognize that Travis was the victim and Jodi the victimizer.

Yes, as far as I'm concerned, she's either living in her own warped "reality"created by her own disturbed delusions ,

or, she's sold herself to the ... well, ya'll fill in the blank ______________ .

Because...she was not paid to recognize that Travis was the victim and Jodi the victimizer.

Perhaps. She's so zealous about JA though, I think she just sees ALL women as victims and all men are bad. She saw in JA's journals and texts what she wanted to see and what she believes. She's as dangerous in her own way as JA is. And now that she was attacked online and maligned, I think it just reinforced her opinion and beliefs. She and Jody are just the Snow Whites of this bad mean world and she has dug in her heels and even more firmly holds onto her testimony.

You are right. How could I have forgotten about Snow White!!!

They are probably referring to Robert J. Shutts, another prosecutor in Maricopa County. He was the prosecutor in the Bob Crane (Hogan's Heroes) murder case. Maybe he'll be sitting second chair.

Probably some nobody the DT hired to come sit in on the trial and "monitor" Juan.
