hi kr, I read it was given by Joan Rivers. First time I saw it (at a glance) I thought it was a trach tube!!

krkrjx, this posted on the wrong post. In reference to the necklace..

It's OK Nore...probably happened because you meant to quote the post I had quoted.

Anyway, you are saying you heard Joan Rivers had given the necklace to NG...that makes sense since JR did design jewelry and that does look like something she might have designed. IMO since I don't really know. I think the necklace is kind of cool, actually.

Thanks for the quote explanation, lol!

I like that necklace too. I bought the cheap-o version of the NG handcuff necklace. With that necklace, a blonde back-combed wig, some eyelashes, nose putty, a pen and a secret-service style ear piece and guess who I'm going to be for Halloween? I'm considering going to visit my local Dish Network reseller's office in character to complain.

So tired of hearing of school shootings!!!!! Yet another one today at a school very close to me~~~~:gaah:

I too am very glad Chris and Skye wrote this book. They knew Travis better than anyone. And based on their interviews, they have some interesting insights into the Jodi saga and will probably be good at telling the true story. Yes, they wrote some negative emails to him. That doesn't mean anything to me. They were like family to Travis and sometimes families tell each other like it is. Chris sort of acted as a mentor or father figure to Travis so when he saw something he thought he was doing was wrong he told him. Chris and Skye have already told why they wrote the emails and that they became aware that they'd been manipulated by Jodi to pit them against Travis. That is what sociopaths do. They try and drive a wedge between their object of obsession and the other people in his/her life. He had also stated that in the same email chain he retracted what he'd said to Travis because they were too harsh, including using the word abusive.

I don't think they're out to make money off of his death, at all. I think they've grown weary of hearing lies and mischaracterizations about someone they knew was a good person and who was brutally murdered and they wanted to set the record straight. Not just about Travis but also about the true nature of the relationship between him and Jodi.

I haven't thought about it like this, so thanks to everyone for your comments. I haven't read or heard any interviews with Chris or Skye. (Just about the emails and they seemed nosey, to me anyway. Travis wasn't a little boy, even though he terribly miscalculated Jodi.) And someone commented that the story of his life needs to be told. I thought that should come from his family. But that's my opinion. I still say this book comes at a bad time. I guess I would like to know how his family feels about it.

ETA: Now if the Hughes come forward and say that every penny of the proceeds will go to the Alexander's to help them fight ANY attempts by Jodi for a new trial, then I would be the first to order the new book. Based upon what KCL has said, they will face the killer many times in the future as she attempts to get a new trial and that will be expensive.

As far as the Hughes portraying the real Travis, we know he was a good and loyal young man who was simply living life. I need no proof of that. And as for the killer, no one but the foreman of the previous jury and maybe DB believes she is anything but a psychopath. JMO and OMO and all that.

Happy Birthday Lambchop!!!!!

Hi Spellbound, that was Tara Kelly, juror 17 in the first trial...she goes on alot of shows. I didn't see it because I don't have HLN due to the Dish dispute...arrrrrgh!

KCL, don't know if you saw it on the Beth Karas thread, but HLN showed on air two of your tweets!

I think if a book is written it should be by the family. I don't think Chris or Skye should be writing a book. I would not presume to write a book about my friend.

Hi KCL,
I had to read your article before I could start the day. Very good article. I have to say, as I read it, I feel like someone with my hands and feet tied, as I know of no way to change our system. There are die hard liberals en masse at the judges helm, wanting to make a name for themselves and their agenda letting murderers go free in society. I feel like a small grain of sand on a beach. Very disheartening.

:hand:Let's not bash Liberals, please. I am a Liberal who is all for Justice. Sometimes I even find myself in agreement with the Conservatives on WS as in the case of Israel, or Ebola.

:yourock:

Happy Birthday, LambChop!!

Yes it does! Her new list of mitigators for the retrial do include physical and emotional abuse at the hands of Travis Alexander, but now the story is that she was never attacked? He didn't body slam her and chase her down the hallway and then get back in the shower so she could shoot him there, did he? Really weird! It's like they're saying, "Okay, M1, you got us. Here's the real true story now..."

ETA: So now, via Twitter, Michael Kiefer is saying that shot in the shower was the original theory put forth by the prosecution and that's what Nurmi was trying to prove.

But still! So what? Couldn't it be potentially deadly to prove that the prosecution is wrong about the sequence of events when it also proves that his client's testimony under oath was a lie? He's losing a Knight to protect a Pawn?
What cinched it for me that the gunshot had to be last: the bullet casing lying on top of the pool of congealed blood. That couldn't have happened if he'd been shot first. And if he was shot first he wouldn't have made it out of the shower, he'd have been incapacitated. It was a shot to finish him off after torturing him and making sure he knew who his killer was.

I think if a book is written it should be by the family. I don't think Chris or Skye should be writing a book. I would not presume to write a book for my friend.

I initially had the same thought, however, the Hughes knew Travis in that time frame probably better than his siblings did. IMO the Hughes had direct knowledge about his relationship with CMJA, his philosophies, his work with Pre Paid Legal. Their relationship with Travis was different than that of a sibling and they more than likely speak to that in the book.

LOL! Sorry. It isn't personal. I am very conservative on most things, liberal on others. But I don't see a conservative judge doing what that female judge did to KCL's family.

ETA: of course, I could be wrong. A lot of times, I am. :)

Up and already walking......

View attachment 62141

I'll give you kids updates tomorrow. Birth took about 2 minutes, walked outside cause ol' Zubaz was making a lot of noise and there was a bit of the sac. Kissy went down, did a few pushes, I carefully pulled one of the legs which wasn't quite out as far as the other as she had a contraction, and there was Zuri, all wet! Got her rubbed down with some towels.

Very cool! Kissy and Zuri are already talking to each other. Zubaz is a proud papa, again, for the 29th time. (Could be 30?)

Note: Mares always pick the spot you least expect them to foal in, not in the barn, always out in the dirt or mud! At least the weather is nice and the mud disappeared about 10 days ago.

Catch you kids tomorrow!:happydance:

Congrats to you!! :congrats:  :bananalama:

That's a good point. I hadn't thought about how Travis' family feels about this. I do wonder about that now. I'll still buy it though.

That is what has struck me. There are many photos of Chris and Travis together ,and you could tell they had a special relationship.
