Just some more articles to read:

HLN has a recap of the trial this week (hope they continue to do this):

Producer's notes: Week 1 of Arias sentencing retrial

Exclusive (HLN video): Juror from Arias' criminal trial talks

"...Tara Kelley has seen those photos before, when she was juror #17 in Arias' criminal trial. Kelley was an alternate juror and did not get the chance to vote on life or death for the convicted murderer."

I hope HLN does this every week as well, that was very informative (such a surprise given their on-air bombasticness (is that a word?).

There already was a website started for Travis to talk about him and all that, his friends to post their memories. Nobody listened. They've given numerous interviews for free to tell their side. No one listened.

A book is simply a better way to get your point across. You can market it better and it will reach a wider audience. Much wider. And all the info is all in one place. You just cannot do the same things with a blog that you can a book. And, you never know. They just may donate some of the proceeds in Travis' name. I can see them doing that anyway. But you have to recoup the money spent publishing a book. That's just the nature of the business.

But mostly, I'm kind of sick of seeing the Hughes' so maligned around here. Again, they were good people. They loved Travis and they just want his story told.

Totally understand - the Hughes' loved their friend, they want the good side of Travis to be told. I get that.

I'm not sure if they'll high five in honor, or run to the bank laughing - I'm hoping on the high five. :highfive:
It is refreshing to see people wanting to share the goodness, and we can never have too much of that.:loveyou:

I'm still not in favor of making money from someones' misfortune and honestly, I'm not going to buy the book. :snooty:

Not because the Hughes wrote it, or because it's from a tragedy, it's because I'm cheap. :blushing:

:peace:

There's nothing wrong with your opinion and I never meant to imply there was. I'm just giving mine too. If the sidebar is not the right place to have a discussion or a difference of opinion I apologize and I'll take it to the retrial thread.

To answer your question, the only reasons the Hughes' weren't called was because a). the emails would come in and b). Nurmi already had a pre trial confrontation in a hearing with him that would also come in. It just wasn't worth it.

Chris and Skye have done interviews with Trish in TCR and they were very enlightening, in regards to Jodi and Travis. I don't know if you can still listen to them but if you'd like to then you can try and find them.

Mee.... I totally share your feelings on this . And the interviews are still available ..I just re-listened to them a week or so ago and shared the link with some other friends who really enjoyed hearing from the Hughes family ...

Agree, it sucks, it's scarey and everyday you just hear more misery being reported on the news.

She's looking a little haggard, IMO.

Geez, What the heck happened to her. She looks like she aged 20 years in one year. Oh my!!

Dear , sweet KCL .... I read your blogging and it makes me relieved that our loved ones murderer is serving LWOP plus hard labor ( whatever that means) in Angola prison, and we don't have to deal with him anymore...of course there is the added insurance that he also has another LWOP plus hard labor sentence to serve for another murder that he was connected to with DNA from my nieces murder trial... ( To be served AFTER the first LWOP ) And as a juror told myself and another family member as we were leaving the courthouse ...." Justice was not served here in this courtroom today...it will be served everyday for the rest of his life when he wakes up in that cell and every night when he goes to sleep in that cell knowing that he will never leave there and knowing why he is there...that is justice." Your posts make me feel a sense of relief that we don't have to deal with the sick monster anymore.... Bless you and your family ! Huggs chicky !

Time for bed. Have a good night everyone. :seeya:

I agree on all points.

The neck wound killed him, if the stab to the heart didn't. But I am not sure Jodi knew that. I think there could have been some air escaping as will happen sometimes from wounds, and the sounds may have made her think he could still be alive. Hence the shot.

Or the shot was a final "take that" sort of thing--done out of meanness pure and simple.

But whatever was going on in that evil mind at the time, the gunshot was the final blow. Evidence points to that clearly.

The DT always wanted to infer it was first because that might instill some doubt about Travis's overall level of suffering. They want to make it sound like he died quickly and didn't feel the brunt of the attack. That's the only reason I can think of for so much time and effort being spent by the DT on all their "shot was first" scenarios.

Saying that Travis was shot first is about much more than minimizing suffering. It's about convincing people that Arias killed in self-defense. And of the three ways she killed him, they have no choice but to say he was shot first. After all, it's a bit hard to say, "he lunged at me me so I stabbed him 27 times", or "he lunged at me so I almost decapitated him" and expect to be taken seriously. A shot followed by a fog is definitely the way to go.

Boy is she looking old. Nurmi looks just as bad to me. Well Jodi does drain the life out of you.

I wonder if Jodi will want to start coordinating her clothes with her glasses too?

Dear Friends-

Grrrr... so Hon Sherry has issued the following malefic rule... why mus she make our lives so challenging?

NO Video. Content ( mystery as to what level we are able to access) can be open for public consumption when court wraps for the day.

Please help me - what does this mean -

a) We are screwed - court art.
b) Video clips with a kicker - max ten minutes of coverage - post close.
c) Full ability to view the day's proceedings - but at the end of the day.
d) No video.

Thanks for your time.
Truly yours,
The Gajonka
