The problem with that moral argument is that it's impossible to apply universally. If it's 'wrong to kill' full stop, end of message, then it was wrong for us to enter WWII and defeat the Axis powers, in which case Hitler would have had his dark millennium, which according to the 'wrong to kill' moral law, would have been the right thing for us to allow. This absurdity shows that the answer does not lie in moral absolutes, but in common sense in applying both our capacity for life-affirmation and yes, even life-destruction when that life has become malignant and a threat to the much more widespread and common non-malignant life.

:facepalm: You DO know that KPNX 12 is Keifer's home away from home? Well, it's all under the same corporate umbrella (Gannett). I can't tolerate their newscasters, specifically their 5,6, and 10:00 anchors.

Couldn't find any mention of it on their site..............

So J17 is so skeered, needs LE protection, but is going to be interviewed by Channel 12..............oh PULEEZE. Let's see if 12's hard hitting newspeople ask the REAL questions, like, "Isn't it true your ex husband of 10 years was prosecuted by JM, and your current husband is a felon? And you DO realize this non-DP vote makes it look like your seeking your own revenge on the Prosecutor?"

One episode of "The Jinx" series highlighted a never-before-seen handwritten letter discovered by Berman's stepson, Sareb Kaufman, who believes it was sent by Durst to Berman a year before her death, KTRK reports. Kaufman claims the letter carries similarities to an anonymous note sent to police by the person believed to be Berman’s killer. The anonymous letter reportedly includes details that only the killer would know.

I can't find anything directly from AzCentral/12 news about an interview with J17, just a tweet from @Justice4Travis and some round abouts by Jen......

Texas is a wonderful State. I grew up there. Of course now that it is flooded with illegals, it will turn out much like AZ and NM.

Arizona kind of had a mad dash to the border when SB 1070 was passed...........like to the borders North, West and East of us. It was really strange, where you usually saw day workers and the usual line of IA's waiting to use pay phones at gas marts, they just went "poof".

Most of the IA arrests in Arizona the last few years have been "drug mules".

I've driven South a few times in the last 7 years, and it's bizarre seeing all the BP and county sheriffs on the freeway surrounding Phoenix and more so heading south towards Tucson. I would swear there's either Maricopa or Pinal County sheriffs every mile or so, and the occasional sheriff's helicopter flying around.

Geez... I had 8 pages to read... I hate the 25 posts per page; looks like I'm WAY behind here...

Anyway... a few comments by me!

Firing squad makes good sense. It's economical, bullets don't have expiration dates like the drugs used for executions, since expert markspeople would be utilized to carry out the executions, the chances of a botched execution would be slim to none. I like it. I mean if a state is going to have the DP, then have it and carry it out.

I like Paul Sanders. One of the many things I agree with...if it were not for looking for justice for Travis, I would not have been able to post with some of the sweetest, funniest, kindest, most loving, and sometimes most irritating, smartest people on this planet! And I mean that in the best possible way. In the end, when the world is silent, when the last voice has been heard, when the Bible has been read and closed for the last time, the last breath drawn, there WILL BE justice for Travis Alexander. "Vengenace is mine. I will repay, saith the Lord.". That's the scripture and I believe every Word.

The only way to fix a problem is to first acknowledge it exists, evaluate it honestly, and then either correct it or provide alternatives. The fact is the DP in many states is broken (not in all states) so I would suggest fixing it or doing away with it. It does no good to anyone (except the criminals) to call it the most severe punishment, then turn around and use it to give every possible opportunity and unlimited money to the criminal to overturn their conviction and continue to torture the family's of their victims with endless and relentless efforts to go free, all at the tax payer's expense.

I'm not opposed to the DP in cases of clear guilt and for appropriate crimes. But a DP should be just that; a 10 year hard execution date. Do whatever you want in those ten years, appeal, find religion, express remorse, or whatever, but you get the DP, and you've got ten years.

10 years seems a very long time... how about 5 years :judge:
