Morning womanfish! I thought of you the other day when, in a previous thread, there was some Bono love going around - I still smile when I think of your "Close Encounter of the U2 Kind".

Thanks for your tribute to Ray Manzarek - this one shocked us. It's always sad when we lose a great musician; I was pretty bummed out when Alvin Lee died a few weeks ago. I posted this before but I'll do it again to honor another great:

I am DEFINITELY going to have to use that phrase someday... well done! Where's segue? She'd come up with a song with those lyrics...

I loved your Inductees and agree that their selections are always random - R&R Hall of Fame, like the Grammys, is a big old political machine run by massive egos and the record labels... but don't tell anyone I said that!


I missed the news - who all was inducted?

Now that is just criminal!!! No offense to any fans out there but, the biggest glaring WTF to me is Randy Newman!!!! Rock & Roll my rear!!! As far as I'm concerned, the only decent song he did was this...

Morning all from Dallas, yesterday was another terrible day for Moore Oklahoma. I lived in Moore many many years ago (before we moved to Texas) and spent many nights in a storm cellar.

What gets me is that it's the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Not the Disco HOF, not the Rap HOF. If they can exclude Chicago and Yes because they aren't considered R&R, how can they possibly induct members of other genres?

While waiting for court this morning, I am watching videos of the Abaroa trial. The defenses opening statement talks about Websleuths!

I thought I'd try to wean myself off this trial by starting one where I had read nor heard anything about the case and listen as if I was on the jury. Already I've decided he's guilty and I've not made it through OS's. I don't think I'd be a good juror, I am much too pro-prosecution.

Make room on that soapbox because I hear you! It's like when the Grammys gave Jethro Tull the Hard Rock/Metal award which is insane cause they're about as "Heavy Metal" as this guy:
