This was posted on the State vs JA page (FB). Travis' brother, Steven, is living with Tanisha now and is very ill. He has been to ER twice in the past few weeks, was admitted and given IV and tests. He is back home now, but needs our prayers. Tanisha is very scared. Steven will see a specialist now.

Others have been posting about Nurmi's book. But everyone reading it plucks out different pieces and has different ideas about what is most important.

Your chapter by chapter quotes and analysis is awesome, and the first thorough whole book report....which is why I don't want it to get lost...

All I can say is that if I've ever truly hated any one it's this sorry excuse for a human being... Actually, I have a strong question in my mind, heart, and soul, if she really is a human being. And IMO, this "person" is possessed by Satan. Where are the "demon killers" when you need them.

Why dogs lives are shorter than ours

“Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owner, his wife, and their little boy were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family there were no miracles left for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, the owners told me they thought it would be good for the young boy to observe the procedure. They felt he could learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker’s family surrounded him. The little boy seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.

Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion.

We sat together for a while after Belker’s death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.

The little boy, who had been listening quietly, piped up, “I know why.”

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me.

I’d never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, “Everybody is born so that they can learn how to live a good life, like loving everybody and being nice, right?”

The boy continued, “Well, animals already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.” :heartbeat:

Wow, this has been an ongoing question in the back of my mind, about why dogs don't live very long. It just doesn't seem fair to me. So this gives me something to sit back and think about. Thank you Y/N :hug:

How strange, I had no idea this drug was available, in any form,outside of a hospital setting, but then I've been out of that setting for a lot of years. We used to give it as a preoperative medication. As I recall, it was to dry up / decrease mucous secretions during surgery, you don't need all that going on, if you know what I mean. Yes, it was indeed a long, long time ago... does that sound like a song? Ok, what song. Anyone up for it ? :groucho:
