I just came on so I hope I am not butting into the convo on depression. Where I live we have winter a minimum of 7 months a year. It can really get to you and what I found out (accidentally actually) is doing a body cleanse helps immensely. When you think of all the toxins that build up in your body ..it makes sense that it plays on your entire being both emotionally and physically. I was totally blown away at the difference in the way I felt after doing a cleanse and now I do one every six months.. Just throwing it out there in case someone wants to try it.

:seeya: I see some posts regarding depression, I just thought I would post this information b/c gluten sensitivity and/or celiac disease has over 300 symptoms, one of those symptoms is depression.

1 in 7 people have a gluten intolerance, 1 in 133 have celiac disease.
Most people aren't aware they have it b/c they either don't have symptoms or are misdiagnosed.
It is hereditary.
Untreated it can lead to cancer.

It is worth taking a few minutes to look over the list to see if you have some of the symptoms, IMO. The list is broken down into categories.

I do not have a wheat allergy or celiac disease but I have noticed I feel better if eat a mostly paleo diet...or a mostly clean diet (since I drink almond or rice milk and I don't get coconut milk often...and I love cheese even though I am allergic to dairy lol). I use quinoa as my main protein plus chicken..seems to help a lot. Now if I could only get my butt to do my Biggest Loser DVDs....

I'm so relived to hear that others have depression too. I've been battling it since my teens. I swear my medicine doesn't seem to work anymore. There's times when I just literally don't want to get out of bed. People who have never dealt with it just think you can "snap" out of it. So to you and all the others who are dealing with depression, hugs.

Hugs to you too Venom! Please see your doc if you get the chance. Mine added a fairly new med to what I was already taking that wasn't working and suddenly it was really helping.

I just want a good doctor to hook my malfunctioning brain up to some sort of electrodes, find out what's wrong and FIX IT. Why is that too much to ask?

Walmart sells little bottles of this glitter glue paint that doesn't flake. It's good therapy to
make art when depressed. It's especially fun to glitter everything in your home. Now what?

I sent the juror who I think voted for the death penalty a link to the thread on here regarding what we know that the juror's don't. I was just curious as to what she thought about that info now that she has read it! I sent it via twitter! :)

I lived in Seattle for 25 years
Something called blue syndrome because its such gloomy weather! Many suffered from severe depression.

It isn't hope! Sometimes I get so tired of being sick and tired. Depression is bad enough without going through other medical issues.

Now from what The Foreman has said, here are the points that are contentious.

1. The Foreman stated that he did not take into account Travis's family's impact statements, that they didn't mean anything to him, but Jodi's allocution did.

2. When he first saw the defendant, he could not see her as a murderer, even though she had already admitted she killed Travis. Then he never shared this bias with the judge so he could be removed.

3. He said that they agreed to not change their votes and to not deliberate about the case. So what were they doing in the jury room all that time? Gossiping? What? Judge told them to WORK on it, yet it appears he had no intention of getting the jury to work on it.

4. The Foreman seems seriously of low-key intellect, as he now makes statements that show he did not understand the jury instructions at all. He thought that if he gave the judge a hung jury, that Jodi would automatically be given LIFE. He had no idea there would be a mistrial and a potential sentencing retrial. Everyone else seems to know about this, though.

5. After the trial, he states that he wants to "reach out to Jodi." Now there really is no fool like an old fool

On the #3 and #4 points in this blog:

How can the jurors NOT deliberate and they all agreed to this??? Makes my mind spin out of control :scared:.
What were they all thinking??
Is this what the foreman said? I haven't seen all the interview- just what HLN has shown.
And didn't the judge say she and the lawyers would answer any questions they had about how to deliberate and what the verdict- death or life would mean??? REALLY. :banghead:
Makes my head spin :scared: :scared: :stormingmad:

I'm sorry but that dude is just beyond disturbing.

When I hear body cleanse... I think colonics and I have an instant physical reaction... If ya know what I mean...

There is a colonics clinic around the way from me... Sometimes my friend and I will park across the street to see if we recognize anyone going in or out...and we point laugh and make up stories about those folks..,

Told ya all I was weird!

Amen sister! I'd still like to know why medical science can give a 90 year old guy a stiffy but they can't come up with anti depressants that work better. I swear I've tried them all. :scared:

A la Forrest Gump....I click on a post here and I never know what I am gonna get! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Gosh I love this place!:floorlaugh:

It would be even more fun to sneak into someone else's and glitter up their stuff!

Sleuth5,
I didn't promise you a "proper" British breakfast, but I'd be happy to tell you about it. DH and I stayed in Bed & Breakfast establishments (private homes) as we traversed England and Scotland. Our hosts served a traditional British breakfast each morning at a time that we specified. With some variation from venue to venue, here's what we enjoyed at the break of day: Eggs cooked to order, bacon and sausage - sometimes homemade, sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, breakfast potatoes, a basket of breakfast pastries (scones, muffins, breads - always homemade), homemade preserves, coffee and/or tea, and a morning paper or two. Some hosts served the breakfast on a sideboard from which we helped ourselves, while others served us at table.

At the B & Bs where we stayed more than one night, we were treated to "proper" afternoon tea upon our return from sightseeing. Some hosts offered a home-cooked dinner option or made reservations for us at their favorite local pub.

Bon Appetit!

Wat? No Bubble n' Squeak?

Wow, are we sure they decided not to, uh, deliberate, as far as the penalty goes? Isn't that the job of the jury? What did they do all that time?

I've got to be misunderstanding this...

I've only been on a jury once, but we spent MOST of our time trying to convince one another of our position, or listen to others who thought differently. I guess we were all under the impression that that's what juries are supposed to do!

That's what the foreman said in one of his interviews. That they all agreed they were not going to attempt to sway those jurors with the opposite verdict than their own to their side. I was astounded by that. Not only that he said it but that they all agreed to it since it was their JOB to at least TRY to come to a unanimous decision... how else can that happen without deliberating and trying to sway opposite verdicts to yours? Instead, the foreman said that they all just personal soul searched. Well, no wonder they couldn't come to a unanimous decision when they didn't bother TRYING to by debating the issues and trying to sway jurors with the opposite view!

What bothers me most about this is that they ALL agreed to not actually deliberating and trying to come to a unanimous decision.
