In her own words, Jodi said that "if (she) did this (murdered) to Travis, (she) would beg for the Death Penalty."

Here you go, Jodi.

“If they would rather die,” Scrooge said, “they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.”

— from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol

Sadly for me, no. I got the pic from the Facebook 'Juan Martinez Prosecutor Support Page'--someone uploaded it to the page. It was there yesterday, but I just looked today & can't find it.

Can Juan Martinez BE any more adorable?

Katiecoolady: Can you figure out what restaurant he's at? The picture said Scottsdale.

LOL I'll see what I can sleuth.

I'm glad we have a side bar because I've wanted to tell you this for as long as I've seen you here.

I LOVE Bette Davis. My favorite movie of hers is The Nanny. Scared the bejeezus out of me!

Hey, weren't those some of the bitterest words the Ghost of Christmas Present(?) made Scrooge eat?

Has anyone here seen the musical, The Book of Mormon? If so, did you like/dislike it? Would you recommend it to others? The show will be in Detroit from March 12-March 24, and there aren't many tickets left. It's never been on my list of Broadway shows that I'd like to see, but I'm interested in what fellow 'sleuthers think about the show if they've seen it.

Thanks everyone. Now I'm gonna go out and spend some time with my brother.

I need to break outta this moment. And I know Justin Timberlake is on SNL tonite and he's nothing but funny. :seeya:

I'm really sorry for what happened to your sister. You deserve a little J Timberlake in your life. I suppose since you seem cool we and the rest of the world can share him;) j/ k

Thank you Sweetie.

I am just looking again. That one photo of "Penelope Cheese" has such a story behind it. I think we were in Junior High when she cooked up a scheme to dress me up as this character in wigs and padding and makeup and made me leave the house in the snow then ring the doorbell and come in for a lunch visit as one of her "friends from school" to meet my Grandma. My poor Grandma was on the receiving end of so many pranks by us. I think Penelope's first costume involved wearing my Grandma's own nightgown!

Well this started years and years of visits from "Penelope Cheese". She appeared at most holidays. Cindy had a ball making me up and coaching me on how to speak and interacting with me like I was her friend. Penelope had a southern accent, an underbite and was kind of racy when it came to the boys. She loved grilled cheese sandwiches.

My Grandma totally played along and acted like she didn't know it was me and that first time, Cindy really thought she'd pulled it off convincing my Grandma she had this oddball friend.

Cindy was constantly creating all kinds of schemes and games. It was truly never a dull moment with her. She made us play "The Price is Right" in our camper during long trips pulling out all the canned goods etc making my brother and I compete.
Then, as adults, she ended up as a contestant on The Price is Right. I hosted a huge party where we watched it together. Great lines came out of that like "I"ll go for the cookies, Bob" and "I love New Orleans!" (although she'd never been there). I am also bringing that video which they might play on Ricki Lake. Of course we dragged our Grandma to that taping too. We went everywhere with our Grandma. we LOVED hanging out with her. She raised us for 5 years after our Mom died. There is a pic there too with "Buddha" (what we nicknamed her) and of course Cindy has all us dressed up for Christmas Eve with scarves and veils. Everything was a chance for a costume party with her.

It's been a long time since I've allowed myself these memories. As hard as it is to remember, (tears), it makes me realize how lucky I was to even have had that life for the 29 years I did have it/her.

Maybe it's part of the reason I feel so connected to Travis' siblings as I think Travis was a BIG personality like Cindy was.

This made me cry! You have the Grandmother connection with the Travis kids too! No wonder they have reached out to you for support and strength. They seem like wonderful people.

I lived for your posts during the Scott Peterson trial but I used a different name then. My boss thought I should change it because it might be connected to the Court I worked for. You and Jordy were right on. Do you ever hear from anyone from that trial now?? Any word on Lacey's family?

what an amazing story. Thanks for sharing.

This is so weird. She looks like Casey Anthony and her courtroom attire is the same.

Her lawyer keeps looking like he's about to stick his finger up his nose.

Body language and Your Nose

He drives me nuts with his nose. One day I imagined a mini airport and he he was directing incoming flights. Up the left, over and up the right then across his lips with his teeth showing. It was the video when Juan was doing redirect the last day. What does he think when he is doing all this constant movement? It looks kinda gross.

:seeya: Oops ... I forgot to make a contribution to the side bar ... so I am bringing the ...

:seeya: Enjoy !

I was waiting for them..

My nephew has been in the hospital since the first of December and in ICU with two tears in his aorta ,an eight hour open heart surgery, two days later a stroke, and they removed part of his skull for his brain to swell, then his blood test showed the MSRA bacteria in his blood.

Two days later they had to go back and repair one of the staples holding his breastplate together and he contracted pneumonia and his temperature was running 106, then they found fluid on his pancreas.

After two months in ICU he was moved to a regular room and his aunts, uncle, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews have been with him night and day, what ever he wants he gets. He hasn't had any hospital food yet.

The room they moved him to had just been remodeled and had a brand new forty inch flat screen tv and they moved in a good size refrigerator for his growing hoard.

Yesterday I took him pasta in the pot for lunch and asked if he wanted anything else, and he said all he wanted was a tootsie pop. I almost chocked on my diet coke.

If you're in the metroplex go to UT Southwestern and Zale Lipsky. My nephew has had wonderful dr.s and nurses. They have not only taken great care of him, they have been wonderful to his family. Whew I've been holding that in for a long time. He wants Tupinamba sucide nachos and the pillow size sopapilla for dinner tonight, and he reminded me again about the tootsie pops.

A Cinnabon is a cinnamon roll. It's a little restaurant counter commonly found at malls, airports and rest stops. They sell these giant cinnamon rolls that have a bazillion (to use Jodi Speak) calories in them. Maybe her last meal can be a Cinnabon? That she has to eat with a wooden spoon?

Does anyone else think Wilmott and Jodi resemble each other? I have to say I was watching testimony earlier and I thought Wilmott looked like a younger, thinner, less hillbilly version of Jodi's mom. But Wilmott also reminds me of Andrea Zuckermann from (the OLD) Beverly Hills 90210. Kind of like Andrea graduated from law school and here 20 years later she's in the public defender's office representing skanks.

And speaking of old testimony (I'm a late bloomer to this case) WHY did no one tell me about Mr. sexy MEDICAL EXAMINER?!?! I want to change my name to Mrs. medical examiner. You guys can have Juannie. That means I get the M.E. all to myself and don't have to share. :floorlaugh: :great:

Someone was putting Juan down for not aiming higher than he has. Who is more honorable? A man who has spent years seeking justice for those who's loved ones have been brutally taken from us far to soon, or the one that has made her livelihood trying to get them off?

I'm glad we have a side bar because I've wanted to tell you this for as long as I've seen you here.

I LOVE Bette Davis. My favorite movie of hers is The Nanny. Scared the bejeezus out of me!

Long before the Kim Carnes recording "Bette Davis Eyes" debuted in 1981, someone in my college dorm (1969) told me that my eyes reminded her of actress Bette Davis who has always been my Hollywood heroine.

I've seen most of Bette Davis' films (75+), but I have favorites that I watch repeatedly. Here's my Top Ten:

All About Eve
All This and Heaven, Too
A Stolen Life
Dead Ringer
Jezebel
Now, Voyager
The Corn Is Green
The Great Lie
The Little Foxes
The Old Maid

The ME reminds me of my longtime crush Micheal C Hall. It's weird that the guy was a medical examiner, since the character Dexter Morgan works with blood spatter and supposedly in the show graduated at the top of his class in med school. It was a plot point in season two that got him caught, I swear I'm not weird.
