Just an aside...I remember this time last year and how hopeful we were that Caylee would finally get the justice she deserved. I'm glad 2011 is behind us. I still have faith that Caylee will see justice in some way, shape, or form. So I look forward to 2012. Caylee will never, ever be forgotten.

I just finished listening to the message from Tricia and Admins and Mods as our New Years message at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/websleuths/2011/12/31/websleuths-new-years-message-to-our-members

Thanks so much all of you for doing such for us posters (don't know where the "main" page is as only some mods that monitor us in this thread will see this thanks) and Kimster, Wise Old Owl, Fran, Salem, Android (it's all your fault sir!), etc. for taking your time to share your background, what brought you to WS, and highlighting many forums I didn't know of as I come directly to this forum and bypass. I'll have to check out those! And I loved those stories - as we ALL have some great stories on stuff that has happened (yep, I know who DARK SHADOWS is in chat............OMG - oops!..........sorry, and thanks Wise Old Owl and others for being mods who knew me and saying I wasn't intentionally being bad just silly that day when I had the idea to bring in all the "old folks from chat revisit" after the verdict that had disappeared - that looking back is so funny, but only NOW!!! it is funny).

Perhaps we should state what were fun times of 2011 on this thread as that one was a definite HOOT for those that were in chat at the time!!

As I said to all before - Happy New Year to all of you my friends!
I'm listening now. Where was chat for the holidays that WOO was talking about? TIA

Happy New Year from Florida. I can't express how much I appreciate all of you. I feel like I should be over this case and just move on, stop thinking about it so much, but I can't seem to walk away from it. Being here with all of you helps me. I see that I am not alone in my feelings. Maybe it is because I have such a deep love for all children. I have often said that if I could afford them, I would have a dozen. Instead, I have opened my heart to many other children. I worked for a pediatrician for 8 years. Those children have given me a lot of joy.

I look at this case and cannot understand how any mother could harm her child. If anybody hurt my child, I would be the one arrested, for murder. I can't fathom any mother caring for herself over her child. I have been on this earth for over 55 years, and I don't think I can ever accept that such evil is not punished.

Thanks for being here to let me vent, and also for understanding.

Happy New Year to all. Spending this evening feeding a "failure to thrive" puppy by medicine dropper every 2 hours. What an exciting NYE.

May 2012 bring all my WS friends....yes....FRIENDS........love, fortune, health, and peace!!!

Just wanted to stop in and wish everyone a very happy new year!
May it be the best one yet! Let's all hope 2012 brings some form of justice for little Caylee. I am always thinking of her.

Blessings to you all!!:fireworks:

Hmmm..... I disagree with Hal about not hearing Casey's side of the story until opening statements.
We heard her interview with LE and heard her story. It was all made up ,just like the opening statement.
We heard accusations made through her family and her defense at hearings .

The truth is,we still haven't heard Casey's side of the story. Not the truth, anyway.:furious:

Yes. If only those jurors 12 would have asked themselves "why sit in jail for 3 years if your child had truly drowned? Why not, if even you panicked because you were scared sh*%less of your mom, tell the detectives when they came to the house?" There is no reason for that other than to give yourself time, through your slimy defense team, to concoct a defense lie that goes along with the evidence to be presented against you at trial. No other reason.......A ludicrous defense lie at that....but one baseless lie thrown out in opening statement that 12 people chose to believe over tons of evidence.

I think the jury was led to the verdict by a leader, IMO, the foreman. We have seen it happen on some of the forums that no matter how much evidence is revealed some will insist it means nothing and the person is innocent. They will continually try to wear you down and I think it was easy with this jury. In some of the court videos taken of KC from what we can see she is definitely making eye contact and flirting with someone in the jury box. Something the judge missed or ignored. jmo

Throw in people with utterly bizarre priorities like many on the jury - who were worried about being told "good morning", concerned about movies and hockey games, etc - and the truth had no chance of prevailing.

I cannot say if it was the foreman or not but I agree there was intimidation going on in that deliberations room. And maybe even outside of that room. Some people are very good at intimidation while others are easily intimidated. I sat on a jury once where I saw intimidation, and with my jury it was not the foreman doing it.

I think in the KC jury there were a number of jurors who didn't really care one way or the other, some who were convinced of her guilt, and a few who were determined to set her free no matter what. Those who didn't care just went with the flow. Those convinced of her guilt were intimidated by those who were hell-bent on setting her free.

People who make it a point to go out of their way to avoid confrontation will go completely against what they know to be the facts when they are in a situation where they cannot walk away. IOW, they can be easily intimidated. That is what I think happened in this case, but I suspect it may have been more than one person doing the intimidating. All it would have taken was for one juror to stay strong and stand up for what they believed. But sadly, many people do not have it in them to stand either alone or in a minority, no matter what is at stake.

I'm still reeling from these facts - I was/am just as stunned and horrified that 12 such people exist as that they let a babykiller free.

no hyperbole. they actually shattered my worldview. I truly didnt think that people that stupid actually existed....or that there were quite so many of them.

Well, my ham and peas are cooking and I'm about to start my banana pudding! Just wanted to jump on here for a minute and wish each and every one of my fellow WS'ers a very Happy and Prosperous New Year! May we all find some peace of mind this year in whatever area of our lives we need it! May we all feel love that encompasses all with our spouses, partners, children, and friends! May we all come to an understanding that though we cannot change the past, we may, in fact, influence the future! Best wishes to one and all! Much love from Chefmom!

ITA and the fact that this jury was completely sequestered for 7 weeks, with little to no contact with any other human beings except for each other likely expedited that. It made it much easier for each to agree with one another. I personally don't think juries should continue to be sequestered for that long. MOO

May I input and add.........the truth is - we still haven't heard CAYLEE's side of the story :furious: I don't care to hear FCA's side in any way shape or form! :furious:

I have my pork and sauerkraut in the oven. It smells so good. New Years is a time to reflect and make plans to improve yourself. I wonder what the a's are thinking today. I saw a rumor that they went to Italy for the holidays. It must be nice to be able to afford such a vacation.

Happy New years everyone! Justice for Alan, justice for Lisa, justice for their four babies and may all this coming year bring you Joy, happiness and many many blessings. :),

BBM If, as Ashton has stated (and reported by a member here on WS that Ashton did say), that this ritual of JB greeting the Jury was against Court rules/ procedures, why didn't he put a stop to it, if not in open Court, but at one of the several hundred sidebars?

And just a reminder, the SA was 50% responsible for seating those people with utterly bizarre priorities on the jury.
