My 1 star is gone and I have no idea why. I have an email into amazon. It is from the first couple of days the book came out and there is no reason it is gone. I thought it was a glitch. It's been a few hours and I haven't heard back from amazon.

My experience has been that Amazon will respond to any question asked. They sometimes take awhile to do so (usually around 24 hours) but I will be very surprised if they do not respond at all.

I wondered about that (the money thing). It seems odd that they didn't. I realize they were in financial straits, but if this was the loving daughter that could do no wrong...and if they really did believe that some phantom nanny took Caylee...why not put money into her defense? Perhaps if they offered that they could have had a stipulation...like no Baez. Makes me wonder again, just what they did know early on. It appears at the time they truly had enough of Casey. Very bizzare, indeed.

bbm - I think the answer is what you stated (my bolded), I really think they had no resources to ante-up any $$$ at all, wasn't their house about to be foreclosed? so there goes the chance for a second mortgage (I think), which is what many folks use to raise extra cash,

plus it seems FCA drained CA's retirement fund, so even to withdraw funds at risk of a terribly high tax on the amount, some would take the financial hit of that early-withdraw tax to get their hands on the needed $$, but FCA took care of nearly draining that in the year(s) before her arrest,

also it seems ALL extended-family was completely hands-off as far as in pitching in any significant $$ to helping the A's with the defense of FCA,

Now I wonder though if CA still had the capability to get some kind of bank loan, but maybe their cash flow versus any required payment was nil? didn't GA just start a new job with a shaky recent job history? now CA certainly had the long-term good-paying job, and even if she paid all of their bills on time, you still have to a good debt-to-income ratio be able to make the payments on the loan. Did they have really high credit card bills, plus maybe some car payments, plus their household bills, etc., did that eat up CA's whole salary, making a substantial loan to help in an expensive criminal defense simply not possible?

I think if they could have, they would have. Even if they were both against JB, I think once they realized that is who FCA was keeping, they would've if they could've. I really don't think they had the financial means.

The best part of the jailhouse videos for me was FCA literally BEGGING in a backwards kind of way for CA/GA to bond her out, and it was falling on deaf ears.

I wonder if we will ever find out what really happened to the "missing" $500,000, half-a-mil, quite a sum, from Phil's payment to the A's for the interview, other than "knowing" that if went to support themselves and FCA in some hidden fashion, and the possible donation to the Church People, and some funds "squirreled away" for future use, other than this speculation, will they have to ever show any kind of disbursement statement with the dissolution of the fund? and then what happens to that final $100,000 left when the fund dissolved? Wonder how Lippman made out on that whole deal? Fascinating, all of it.

have any of you guys noticed a review over on amazon. even mabe commented on. it.. then a couple hours later its gone? Its odd... why are the 5 stars doing that?

earlier today there were two that commented on how baez is a class act... i commented on both ...

one is still there but the other is gone..

Wow, I thought I was losing my mind......I think I was the first comment on that post, I asked if they could not think of anything else to say, commenting that the CLASS ACT thing was getting old. The when I checked back a couple of hors later it was GONE!!! Thanks for saving my sanity first thing in the morning!

The letter about GA maybe molested her (and Robyn's new nickname was Lily) was mailed out of the jail Oct. 21, 2008. The letter about GA's suicide attempt and the upcoming (Feb 2009) memorial (and Robyn's new nickname being Cookie) is a different letter. BUT...but but but...the earlier letter says "Cookie" in fancy letters on top.

Why call someone Cookie when her nickname is Lily and won't be changed to Cookie for 4 more months? It's a puzzle...

that letter is out of order....it was put on top presumably by LE because of its interest, the doc (at least the one I have) starts with it, then goes to earlier letters in some kind of order, almost by time when it was dated - the first COOKIE letter shows up again in the doc later presumably in its more correct position time-wise.

Well...comments like that needed to be deleted. The reviews are supposed to be about the book's content, writing style, things of that sort. Reviews are not intended as a venue for inciting a hate crime.

But the book....is still a defective item. Any product that generates that many negative reviews is detrimental to Amazon's reputation, IMO.

Yeah, the book is terrible, but I looked at that same discussion. There was something about "a shotgun blast to the head". I reported it as abuse. Whatever you may think someone deserves.......well, should not be posted in a public discussion like that. It makes the poster look no better than the "felon".

One of my best friend's mother who lived to be 98 and was a great judge of character used to say that! I love it. Very true statement.

So what exactly is the timeline for the George-as-abuser defense theory? Where/when does the *first* confrontation about sexual abuse happen, if the second one was in March 2009, at CM's office?

Summer 2008 - Out on bond, FCA is angry with GA, yelling at him to get out of the house, and accusing him of acting like a cop instead of a father. GA's LE friend from Ohio says that FCA knows where Caylee is but isn't telling.

August 2008 - In jail, FCA asks to speak with her father privately, which JB later puts the kibosh on. In jail visits, FCA gushes that GA was the best father, and the best grandfather to Caylee. Meanwhile, GA encourages FCA to feel "in charge" as "the CEO," and urges her to speak to LE and/or the FBI.

September 2008 - FCA is out on bond again. OCSO, acting on a tip, confiscates a gun from GA's vehicle in the garage of the A home. GA says he was planning to use it to pressure those who know where Caylee is to spill the beans.

October 14 2008 - George testifies before the grand jury; FCA is indicted and arrested.

October 21 2008 - Robyn mails an FCA letter from jail to someone for safekeeping; in the letter FCA says Lee abused her, and from dreams she's thinking GA may have too.

December 11 2008 - Caylee's remains are found.

January 2009 - George's suicide attempt.

January 2009 - FCA writes to Robyn about GA's suicide attempt and hospitalization, says she hopes he gets help, hopes he gets better.

January 2009 - JB says he first heard of sexual abuse from FCA (but claims he had already suspected it, and also had broached it to CA/GA at some earlier point? When?)

May 2009 - Andrea Lyon officially joins defense team. Heavy mitigation work begins with FCA at the jail.

January 2010 - A year after his suicide attempt, and shortly after getting a tattoo of Caylee and going on a cruise with the family, GA reads his composition, "Living Under a Microscope" to the media.

Date unknown; March 24? - Per JB, he and CM confront GA regarding sexual abuse; GA is silent for 40 seconds (or 23 seconds, depending).

March 24 2010 - Per GA, JB gave him disturbing news and asked him two disturbing questions in CM's office on this date.

March 25 2010 - George writes "How could you?" letter to FCA.

I think George should do it again - post trial and with everything he has been accused of. Wonder how different it would be. Wonder how truthful he was and how truthful he would be now.

Omg.. There is a new style review out there at Amazon... 4 stars.. Long wrote up... And mentioning that although Baez didnt dedicate the book to Caylee... He had several touching "mentions" of her.

Seems like they are trying another tactic with reviews... And possibly reading here yesterday we were saying Ashton dedicated his book to caylee.

I saw that the other day.. and actually posted on it.. that none of us have a right to take the law or justice in our own hands..
that karma would take care of it all in time..

but that two wrongs dont make a right.

But are they real threats or just fake. Would not put it past her to post something because she plans on leaving the country and can use these as an excuse not to come back for her civil trials. jmo

Tha way GA and CA talked to FCA reminded me of that Twilght Zone episode where all those people had to be very nice to that little boy (he was very evil) or he would send them to the corn field. I think that's where he sent them LOL

I have had the exact same thought in the past. And I see other posters have too.

Having to hear JB's arrant nonsense now about how afraid she was of GA is vomit-inducing. I have never seen or heard such blatant evil up close. We get to hear it because JB and FCA are drunk on triumph and pridefulness and want to rub their big win in. I doubt they care that no one believes them; this is the middle finger of the family hand being thrust in our faces.

And once again, in court, GA backed the wrong horse. His sins are sins of omission, not commission, IMO. It's the things he didn't do or say that he has to live with. I wonder if his not speaking up now to defend himself is a form of self-punishment. (Though I also doubt he could count on CA to support him against FCA in a formal enquiry.) I think he feels guilty for not standing up before the worst of the worst happened and now he probably doesn't care about his reputation, it's a far smaller loss than Caylee.

Of course they read here. They read here during the trial. They read blogs to see who the bloggers were unsympathetic to and ran from there. It is in my very strong opinion they read here to see what is thought of that book. What we like don't like...what lies we can pick up on. Then JB who doesn't really think for himself can go on interviews and appear to spin what inconsistencies are found in the book. I also think that those violent post against his client may be his people trying to insight trouble, so he can still say KC is not safe. Bleck
I really think it would be a fine idea for someone to tear apart and list all his lies with proof and put it out there for everyone to see. I don't think he was counting on those that followed to still have that information on hand.

Probably as fake as the glowing 5 star reviews. I can see the felon posting something like that. .. They are a slimy bunch.

Also.. Some of the 5 starere are deleting and reposting most likely under a different name.. Probably another slimey strategy to get rid of the comments and appear as though new glowing reviews are being posted.

I noticed that reviewer 'jack sparrow' is from the UK ... wonder why not post at amazon uk? If you look at his previous reviews there is one for hydroxy cut.. And says he is 5'5 and 105 lbs. Just thought it was funny they made up a reviewer and said he was from London..lol. Do they express their weight in lbs in london?

They should think of these things before making a fake reviewer...lol... Wow he is from london..must really know literature!

Does anyone remember JB making a call to one of KC's cell mates?? This just came to mind and I can not remember if it was Robin or what was said. I remember the call was made sneakily. I believe it went through someone else before he answered. anyone remember something along these lines.

Robyn Lunceford called him from the prison. He later asked HHJP to seal the record since he was unaware he was being taped! Everyone laughed at that, since you have to push #1 to acknowledge you know you are being taped,before the call is connected - in addition Robyn TOLD him the call was taped... More lies. There really should be a book of Baez lies.

Casey also made me think of end of Psycho with Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates, sitting in a white room alone, but talking as his mother and a fly lands on his hand and he thinks to himself that they'll see he is harmless. That he wouldn't kill a fly.

OK OK one more. Looking through my old The Far Sides I came across one with a fly driving a white car and on the back window was a sticker that said "maggots on board". It made me think of Casey.

OOHH I remember that scene in Psycho, that was really scary!!! YES! I can picture FCA as Norman Bates LOL I love The Far Side, I sure do miss the calendars, for many years for Christmas I would give my hubby one for his desk at work. Now that was some funny stuff LOL

Within the letter, Anthony allegedly claims Zenaida Gonzalez does not exist. Prosecutors further allege the letter reveals details about Caylee's remains that only her killer would be privy to.

IMO the way that George addressed Casey with the beautiful and what not was simply his way of buttering her up so that she would talk without blowing a gasket. This is a chick who still thinks that all men want her, that her looks are most important. Tell her what she wants to hear and she may just tell you something you need to know.

Yes, I completely agree - I thought he was saying what he thought she wanted to hear to get her to talk to him, not being creepy.
