The CaCa Factor: Is that a new reality show Potatohead?

Sure is! What do you think of the stunts LE & SA have lined up for JB, Lee and the rest of the d team to perform so far? They've surpassed the Fear Factor, don't ya think?

OK, wait for it...you know it's coming....ABSOLUTELY!

here's a thought: if KC will just have a heart to heart with scheme team, they actually might have a chance to examine the real "crime scene" first :silenced:

Seriously, this would not be cool as they, I believe would be bound to leave such a scene undisturbed. I am not certain however that they would be bound to turn such information over to LE unless they made a plea agreement deal.

My understanding is that the defense is not under the same rules of the game, however, they cannot disturb or tamper with a criminal investigation.

LOL. DH and I watched the show, too, and I don't recall seeing anyone who remotely resembled any NASCAR driver I know of! I can't imagine any of those guys getting involved in this fiasco; truly I can't! And just because someone wears a NASCAR jacket or shirt or hat doesn't mean they're involved in any way with the sport, other than maybe being a diehard fan. DH and I have numerous shirts, jackets, hats, all kinds of paraphenalia related to the racing world. Besides that, Florida is a huge NASCAR venue -- Daytona and Homestead-Miami Speedways. Until I see or hear a credible report that a NASCAR driver is affiliated with this, I just won't believe it. Nope. Those guys are way too professional to get involved in something like this.
I think it said something like "bud" because I remember thinking "why is he wearing a jacket promoting beer"

ITA. In general, NASCAR drivers and teams are very PRO-CHILDREN, regarding charities, etc. And besides that, no sponsor would allow this.

Exactly what I was thinking. I am a huge NASCAR and Indy car fan, but that doesn't mean I am involved with the sport in any way.

The jacket said "BUD", Kasey Kane is their driver I think???? Not really a nascar fan, but I can't see any of them being involved. Probably just a jacket.

Good grief is all that I can say today. I saw Kobe on GMA and he is such a waffler! I am not sure what it is but both he and Dr. Baden give me the willies, something in them sets off my hinky meter big time. Dr. Baden on GR last night, does he really think the FBI forensics team wouldn't have specialists sifting through the dirt etc.?! Hello-newsflash Dr. Baden the FBI does have a highly trained group of forensic anthropologists to get the job done. They're not going to let just anyone go and scour through it all. Seriously!

I just cannot believe that the defense really expected to be able to go and investigate the crime scene while it is still an active investigation. Although they tentatively i.d. as Caylee on the off chance it were someone elses child that would bring about a whole other serious breach. Then there's the fact that the defense doesn't even think that it is Caylee! These people are giving me a headache and we're in for a long haul with this one folks...............:banghead:

That's what I figured. When this team says "they've never heard of such a thing before" I think they need to be called on the carpet. Grrr

:furious:

They sounded like a bunch of whiners to me.

Did these professionals conveniently forget that just the day before Judge Strickland DENIED them the motions of being present during the autopsy and DENIED the defense access to the crime scene until LE/FBI is done.

Can Judge Strickland reprimand the Defense for this grandstanding after he denied them the motions?

Intermezzo I actually believe that Judge S. does have the authority to slap them all on the wrist and I agree that he should. I also agree that for pros they are coming off as a pack professional whiners!

I trained in forensics (in Florida, but it doesn't matter) and anyone who is not absolute necessary personnel at a crime scene is against scientific principles to secure a scene. The defense would argue that they could contaminate the scene.
.

absolutely. I was amazed to see on TV the number of people on the crime scene, and the soil being gathered in great big buckets and poured out on tables to be sifted through. Well, that's definitely not like an "archaeological dig" (as it has been described), but presumably they had already done a lot of gridding, mapping, photographing, of all the finds layer by layer and taken undisturbed soil samples everywhere before that, I really hope they were able to get some shoeprints.
Were any of the prosecution allowed on the scene? I wouldn't think either would be allowed in at that stage, but then I wouldn't think they would have that many people on the scene at all. I don't get how people like NG keep harping on "now the defense is allowed on the crime scene but they've never bothered to go!" (Well, why would they? What's left? Obviously the idea was to be there to observe the remains and evidence as they were found, removal of the evidence, etc. Seems like it's only natural for the defense to make the request at least.) My opinion only

I have to disagree with you there, Anais. Imagine if anyone made comments like this about any member of LE or of the prosecution, they would probably be banned, it would be such taboo. I think there was actually a sticky recently about making derogatory characterizations like this about the defense, and using terms like "scheme team" etc, wasn't there? As if these highly respected scientists would be waffling, suspicious, etc., I don't think so.

Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, everyone. Wishing you all a great 2009! :)

Just a question to ponder; If you were on trial would you want your lawyer to know what the Prosecutor knows?? The man is doing his job. I have a cousin who is a defense lawyer. Your job is to save your client. It is our system, love it or not.

The only reason Baez asked to be at the crime scene is because he knew the judge would say no. He did to use it at trial. He never really wanted to be there.Which IMO is never gonna work.

I also saw this video and I believe it was just a guy wearing a jacket than can be purchased at Sports outlets or on the Internet from the NASCAR store, for example. A lot of people have those jackets! :) MOO

Personally, I think that anyone who can be "bought" deserves examination. I understand, though, it's all part of the "game", not that I like it, but it's par for the course IMO.

...oh, and the media event created when they ALL decided to take a walk to the crime site.
