I wonder if he called his brother right before he was arrested? At the police station, if the story is true, he was welcoming inmates in and asking them what they were in for, chatting, etc. This is right after the "but there was no malicious intent." I wonder if his brother told him that?

good point!!

Baygents said Harris told him about the insurance policies while the two of them were discussing burial arrangements for Cooper. He said Harris told him to use the money for the boy’s funeral.
Baygents also said Harris gave him control of the Harrises’ accounts when he came to Marietta after Cooper’s death, so he is fully acquainted with the couple’s finances. The family had $6,000 in savings, paid their bills on time and had excellent credit, Baygents said.
“To say they were in financial trouble is just crazy,” he said.

Soooo they had $6,000 in savings, but owed $4,000 on credit cards.

Good thing RH took over the finances recently

It doesn't sound "troubled" exactly but they weren't in position to pay for a cruise, new home, or any emergency or extra expense. And, I can't help but wonder if more will come out about the finances. JMO.

noticeable absence from big brother's assessment of JRH's financial health was the o/s amount of $4K in credit card debt JMHO

The ONLY way I see the brother actually watching the video is if he watched it with Kilgore IMO

I don't believe for a second that AJC has seen it.

Straight out of the Lin Wood-Ramsey playbook.
I also recall in the Ramsey case, the Ramseys sued CourtTV, and as a result of the settlement, they had to air more-than-one pro-Ramsey TV Specials. I don't know if LW would try the same thing here."

@@@@@

Now this is just my humble opinion, and could be just coincidence, but after news of a consultation with
Lin Wood, here comes this very favorable article in AJC.

would Kilgore have access to LE evidence at this point?? I thought this was going to Grand Jury

Exactly what I was thinking. The credibility of a cop, they are hoping, will give some spin on the story that plants doubts in people's minds about LE's presentation. I don't blame them one bit for trying this. I myself am now refraining from speculation on those HD videos until we can see them.

Edited to add: I also think the family doesn't know RH as well as they think they do.

Why didn't the defense mention any of the points brought up in this article r.e. the 30 second wait in the car (less than 15 seconds according to article) and the $6000 in savings?

Newone: I agree. Unless there is evidence of real planning for the cruise, than BS. JMO

Also, is the $6000 savings a real savings account or bonds or education savings for Cooper, etc?

The BEST thing that came from that AJC article IMO is this.

What a cutie patooty Cooper was :blowkiss:

Oh! And another thing! Regarding this statement:

Baygents said that reinforces his certainty that his brother made a terrible mistake, not a calculated choice. “I know Ross. Cooper was his buddy. To see him portrayed as a terrible parent is just not right,” he said

Even if RH hadn't baked his son to death in his car, the fact that was a sexual deviant and having sexual encounters with complete strangers, makes him a terrible parent in my book

even after the preliminary hearing his bro is still saying this?? (from your quoted quote which I didn't copy) -- hope his superior officer's are taking notes he's not credible as LE nor an objective professional JMHO

has a problem with evidence ((especially with the texting evidence & hooking up with a minor))

FWIW, I've been on several cruises, and on each one, there have been families with toddlers. Actually, IIRC, I think there was even an infant on one of my cruises! Personally, I wouldn't take a child that young on a cruise, but I have personally witnessed it. Just my :twocents:.

Last thing, I promise :blushing:

Baygents said that there are times when Leanna talks calmly and coherently about what happened. “But there have also been times when she’s on the floor in a fetal position calling out to God.”

"Oh God, please don't let me be arrested! I won't be able to meet with Lin Wood and try to sue for defamation!"

I know there are family cruise lines --- just not my cuppa tea ..... that's a whole lot of $$ from my point of view.
