Can anyone pinpoint the time when Sgt. Pierce made his comments:

"Much has changed about the circumstances leading up to the death of this 22-month-old since it was first reported," Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce told CNN. He would not elaborate, citing an ongoing investigation, but his words made it clear this was not just another case of a young life left and lost to heat exposure in a hot car.

"I've been in law enforcement for 34 years. What I know about this case shocks my conscience as a police officer, a father and a grandfather," said Pierce.

Was it at the scene? Was it before the arrest that night? But, prior to warrants, right?

From the video, "That a lot of the details have changes since that tragedy on Wednesday." They tell me, "I have been in law enforcement 34 years..."

So that statement was given AFTER the day of Cooper's death, and AFTER the warrants which were served the same day.

Dr. Fisher can call me obsessed any day. He's easy on the eyes IYKWIM :winkkiss:

When I first saw Dr. Fisher in that video, I thought what the heck is Bill Rancic doing talking about this case?!?! The two look like they could be brothers, IMO.

And perhaps Dr. Fisher should come read here, he might learn a thing or two.

MOO

Just trying to see if his comments were solely based on the "scene" or if they had looked at other factors by then. For some reason, I thought he was on the scene. There was so much information being posted here, as well as the information that was in/on the local media the day of, that the timeline of such statements is all running together.

No, I totally thought he said that at the scene also. I didn't realize until going back just now, that it was after some evidence had come in.

I would totally volunteer for a case study on obsession :happydance:

Ross Harris, 33, of Marietta, told police he left work at a Home Depot office shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, and within minutes, realized he had never dropped off his son at daycare that morning, Sgt. Dana Pierce said at the scene. Harris pulled into a shopping center parking lot, where he and others tried unsuccessfully to revive the boy.

I believe it was questioning when this was said, ""I've been in law enforcement for 34 years. What I know about this case shocks my conscience as a police officer, a father and a grandfather," said Pierce."

That was said after the day Cooper died.

I could more easily understand RH forgetting Cooper in the car if he had driven directly to his workplace from home.

I just can't wrap my mind around forgetting in 2/10 of a mile. I live on a dead-end road, and it's 2/10 of a mile from our house to the next street. So often now when I drive it, I try to imagine forgetting where I'm going in that time and distance.

And, it seems like RH would have had to forget in even less time that that. IMO, after he kissed Cooper, he would have had to forget in the time it took him to drive from where he was parked to the exit onto the street where he would have had to make the decision to get into the right or left lanes.

Edwards, the following comments were made by Sgt Pierce to CNN I think on June 21. I remember watching and being surprised that CNN had gotten a statement from LE so soon into the case.

I'm not surprised. They got their warrants the night Cooper died. Can you imagine everything that would come rolling in off his phones and computers? I bet it only took them an hour or two to learn things that really, really concerned and shocked them.

I know he was at the scene, but I was looking for the specific timing of the "shocks my conscience" statement.

Cooper died Wed. June 18. The CNN video aired Sat June 21. The reporter said that he told him, "That a lot of the details have changes since that tragedy on Wednesday."

So he told the reporter that statement sometime between the 19-21. The video made it seem that the statement given was brand new, so I assume it was given closer to the 21. They got the warrants the night of Cooper's death, so all this evidence was new and shocking. It seems to me they kind of couldn't believe what they were seeing and learning.

All we can deduce is the time period of June 19-21 since the statement was given after Wednesday

the link I provided from CNN also has a video. In both the article and the video that is attached to it the commentator states that the statement about shock my conscious was made to CNN on or about June 21.

I'm seeing some articles popping up online about police "embellishing" things. Call me naive, but I doubt a detective would knowingly perjure himself on the stand. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Either way, it's still early days. We'll see if the evidence supports the charges in the coming days.

Well Baygents gave his info exclusively to the ACJ. I wonder why he didn't go to all the media with his info?

Baygents want to bury Stoddard IMO and his mother called the judge an SOB. Nice. RIP Cooper.

They probably told him they had seen the video (exclusively) and were of the opinion that the police was embellishing things. He probably would have liked to contribute to such a story.
