Judge says Leisser won't be able to prove Dewani conspired to have his wife killed. She wants to hear from a witness who will.

Mopp was under pressure to explain why he called Leisser now, instead of calling a witness who would prove a conspiracy.

Judge not convinced by state's argument regarding Leisser's evidence. Asks for written evidence.

LOL, this is ridiculously scary. I wrote the comment that she wants the state to prove he did it and then show motive, but we've been easy on the last SA judge, and it wasn't that way, so this could be the same all over again. Grrrr.

Leisser has so far testified he offered escort services - fetish & sadomasochistic role play - on gay dating website Gaydar.

(I don't know about anyone else but who cares what services this guy provides but it's court rules he must define what he does, seems like this disturbs the judge, phhffft. I don't care if he was a plumber, a baker, but he shared SD's bed, so he's relevant, imo. We want to know what SD was telling him. Grrrr)

I agree! I am concerned about the bias being shown about the nature of the relationship -- we are interested in what was said.

So it appears the State intends calling Zola Tongo next, but he is still on his way to the court. A postponement imminent.

I commented in the Pistorius thread on how sex hardly featured during the Pistorius trial as well, and speculated it was a cultural thing. I am now more convinced that this is the case. Being a Scandinavian myself, I fail to understand why the South Africans find the subject taboo.

I agree. I just might look into this over the next few days, what's been the precedence for similar trials where sex or infidelity plays a part, or is it not considered relevant? OMG! How do they proceed with rape cases?!
