By the time it's decided, it will be teatime and there'll be another adjournment.

Still adjourned.

I just found out it's a national holiday here and all the stores are shut and nobody told me. Am out of milk, so drinking lemon tea. Without any lemon either.

This helps explain the last minute rush, maybe. Sounds like defense deliberately rushed the hearing in the hope state couldn't make a case against bail, and so Panayiotou would get it?

He's been held at St. Albans prison since his last court appearance two weeks ago.

Panayiotou's legal counsel has succeeded in bringing forward his bail hearing.

Christopher's family are all in court, but I don't think Jayde's are.

I am guessing he is of Greek heritage? Am wondering how far removed he is from Greece and if so, if that could make him a real flight risk?

Sadly, I have to go out. I'll come back and update later, if nobody else can.

Popped back for a min.

C is saying, via his affidavit, that he's affable, never violent, earns R3000 a month and employs 60 people, won't survive solitary, is complaining about prison toilets and says his alleged mistress vehemently denies being so and has been threatened and had to leave her job.

Also mentions how 'Oscar Pistorius got bail' so he should too....

Oh no, hang on, I got that wrong. He didn't mention any denial by mistress - just that she was 'strenuously' questioned.

He is really criticising St Albans prison, where he's held. Bet authorities will respond to that later.
