Thank you for this- I truly thought I was the only one who felt verrrrrrrry icy toward the Hughes. I totally agree with you.
You are not alone.

So, watching Chris Hughes on DD tonight.
He said that being Mormon is no different than most other religions in that pre-marital sex is discouraged. He said he and Sky KNEW that TA and JA were having a sexual relationship but he didn't ask for details. And that hey, he was a young single guy, and that's totally normal. (With which I agree)
So then if it's an acceptable part of young, single life to have sexual relationships, why the whole facade of "thirty-year-old virgin"? Why did his friends say on camera in the 48 hrs show that they disapproved of the type of relationship Travis carried on with Jodi?
I'm gonna call BS here and say that TA was under a great deal of pressure to appear chaste. I know the Hughes' cared for Travis, but I honestly find them both a bit hinky. I do not believe that TA having a sexual relationship with Jodi was all cool and hunky dory in Travis' social circle.
I'm sorry, but I think Travis was under totally UNREALISTIC expectations from his friends and church. I think the Hugheses are being disingenuous NOW to say "oh yeah, the sex thing, no big deal, it's cool". I think they likely pressured Travis to CTR, and he felt obliged to hide from them the true nature of his ongoing relationship with JA.
Sorry, but the Hugheses really bug me. I think they were WAY too involved in TA's life.
Is there a copy of the motion anywhere or a description of it?
Nurmi must agree with you because he kept trying to get her to say the word "rape" and she just wouldn't do it.
May have been posted but new article by Kristen Randall:

Hi Frayed! Here's my take ..I think many in that circle were not chaste. I think the whole virgin thing was sort of like a misnomer in their community. I also think Jodi was socially inappropriate in her behavior and THAT was a problem. Discretion is everything in those types of situations and she was clearly incapable of being discreet. I hope this didn't offend anyone ... It's of course only my opinion.
ETA .. I find both the Hughes' dodgy.

KN and JW and their bag of tricks, the jury is gonna be sooooooooo burnt out on their witnesses. They must not realize that, or just don't care.
At this point every calculated, underhanded move by the DT solidifies my hope that she fries, and I wish I could mean that literally. The needle is too good for her at this point IMO.
I've always held a "quasi pro-death penalty mentality," meaning I feel an eye for an eye is fair, yet I never really knew if when push came to shove I could actually sit on a jury and say "yes this person deserves to die for their actions."
With JA and the way she has killed travis again by her lies and accusations, I have no such qualms.
Does anyone have a link to the the Hughes' on HLN tonight?
tia!

hno: Now I'm going to have bad dreams about the Defendant and DT wearing ugly green again.:hills:
She can't bring herself to acknowledge the knife attack. Really, it's just too vicious.

LOLs from me when the talking heads call her a professional photographer. Have they seen her myspace photography page? Also? Jodi Ann Arias has absolutely zero talent as a photographer. As erotica, those nudie pix she took suck.
I actually believe Chris when he says he knew they were having sex. They stayed in their home. I'm sure they knew they were staying in the same room and they weren't stupid.
I don't disgree that T felt pressure in most of his social circle to remain chaste but I'm sure not all.
Also IMO, T was a show off. He was arrogant. He's the type that would want everyone to think he was holy, like Christ, the perfect Mormon. I'm sure he enjoyed it.
ITA! To bring the degenerate and deviant and criminal pedophilia accusations upon Travis to save her skin should be a felony on its own. Not so unlike CA saying her father forced oral sex on her when she was a young girl. And the Menendez brothers saying their father did the same. None of these murderers has faced consequences for those particular acts of reputation slaughter. imo.
