If he thought he was going to be spending the night with his friends, he very well may have carried all his things. IMO

Was it confirmed by MR if he was spending the night with his friends ?

I believe I said in my earlier response, "so if he set out on foot to hitch a ride to his friend's house...."

Without contacting his friends when he had no idea at that stage where they was at ??

We now know that Dylan could use wifi if his phone stopped working and yet no word of Dylan even being alive after Sunday night :cow:

He also said he didn't know where to search. I imagine that it's overwhelming to have a child missing for any parent.

I absolutely agree that it would be overwhelming to have a child missing and I personally thank God that I don't.
I understand not knowing where to look, I don't understand looking in the very place that he has publicly stated he doesn't believe Dylan is. If MR doesn't think Dylan is in the county or in the lake, why continue to look there? Look somewhere, anywhere, else.

What's that quote about doing the same action over and over again but expecting a different result?

Out to Marc Klaas. Marc, weigh in.

MARC KLAAS, KLAAS KIDS FOUNDATION (via telephone): Well, first of all, Nancy, people are pointing a lot of fingers at the father because he was the last person to see Dylan alive, also because law enforcement is not treating this like a runaway, by any means, not if they`re taking cadaver dogs into lakes, not if they`re running multi-jurisdictional searches.

And also, the father is being very mean towards the mother and the brother. He`s not contacting them. He`s not providing any information to them. He`s a reluctant witness, as far as the media goes.

So I can understand why people would point fingers at this guy. And I think that he has to be a lot more forthcoming if we`re going to have a chance of finding Dylan.

I don`t believe this little boy ran away. His cell phone, apparently, was turned off immediately, which was out of character. So nothing is adding up in this case.
GRACE: Out to Marc Klaas, president and founder of KlaasKids.

Marc, when you mentioned that the dad was being, quote, "mean," and kind of hoarding information from the mom about this little boy`s disappearance, what did you mean?

KLAAS: Well, Nancy, she told ABC News that she was having a difficult time getting in touch with her ex-husband about their son. She said, he hasn`t had any contact with us. My older son tried to get ahold of him by texting him and he wouldn`t respond.

I just find it odd that at a time like this he would be so evasive. I think that`s -- I think that`s cruel. When your child is missing, I think that that`s absolutely cruel to withhold information from the child`s other parent.

I think that MR addressed both the bolded remarks. Based on the DP show, I find MR's perceptions of EH and CR supported. He did not eliminate communication; he did limit it to a format that allowed him to not be verbally accused. Also, MR's call in to the show begins to address the media reluctance.

I don't believe so, but again my response was:

"If he thought he was going to be spending the night with his friends..."

I just thought i would ask as i have seen it mentioned before and was not sure if i had missed something as the thread used to move so fast :)

That is the burning question.... A question that I don't have an answer to.

However, as stated by one of his friends, Dylan was known to show up unannounced, so who knows?

Sure would like to know what that last text message was.

I don't know how LE is making the determination where to search. Hopefully the FBI behavior specialists are helping or maybe they are thinking smoke & mirrors.

And is he not man enough to handle that?

At the end of the day the buck stops at his door because until proven otherwise he was the last person with Dylan and it was a messy bitter divorce and so of course Elaine was going to lash out.
A perfectly natural reaction to getting a text or phone call asking her if she had heard from her son. She put her son on a plane and entrusted her ex husband to look after her son and if his story is to be believed ' a grown mans nap time' was more important than concern for his son and his well being... :cow: :cow:

His son is MISSING and he won't talk to his ex wife? He only allows her to text him? What a cowardly response, imo.

I would like to believe that MK would help any parent of a missing child, as long as that parent is cooperative and helping themself as well.

Not if he thinks he might be guilty. JMO

It has been 6 months. Why is Mark contacting him now?

So you think Mark Klaas would go by his personal feelings and not help in Dylan's case because it was the father who reached out?

I don't know why it's taken that long. AFAIK no one has contacted a missing persons organization. Better late than never?

I believe I said in my earlier response, "so if he set out on foot to hitch a ride to his friend's house...."

Why would he do that without contacting any of his friends or replying to Ryans earlier text from that morning?

And now we know that he had wifi and computer access, so we cannot say he had NO WAY to communicate with anyone that morning. He had a cell, an iPod touch, a computer with wifi that he had the password to, and the landline. So why would he just walk out the door without trying to find a ride first or even finding out where his friends were going to be?

Mark's daughter was murdered.

Now, it's clear that blocking EH and CR came after some accusatory contact. What you call cowardly, I call sensible. I wouldn't open myself up for being yelled at either. The important aspect is that email was left a viable and utilized option for them to communicate. A door was left open. One that preserves the content of that communication as well. Good job, I say.

Marc Klaas would do whatever he and his team feels needs to be done to help find Dylan, I'm sure.

Here's a glimpse at the resources afforded by :heartbeat: Klaas Kids :heartbeat:
