Kavanaugh still has time to withdraw his nomination, right?

i would think so

he sought to do it for his family

all sorts of stuff is coming

he should just imo go away and hope for the best for his kids

can you imagine your kids learnings all kinds of stuff about your parent??

Will this FBI investigation reveal which one of the two is lying, and if so, will the one who is, be prosecuted in any way?

We don't want our justices to throw juvenile tantrums. Worse he told many lies during Thursday's testimony. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying under oath (and I was hard on Clinton at the time for doing so) Kavanaugh should be impeached from current position, not promoted.

I think perjury is the easiest way out now for reps

they all know all the stuff in 100 000 documents they hid

they should just leave this alone

Christine Blasey-Ford took a polygraph. Should Brett Kavanaugh take a polygraph?
Just starting reading up thread but wanted to mention polygraphs. Kavanaugh said he hadn't taken one; "not reliable" he told Sen Kamala Harris. But in 2016 he issued a ruling stating that polygraphs were reliable, important tool in law enforcement "? What is he afraid of?

Inside the newsroom: What the Kavanaugh hearings can teach journalists

News organizations, including the Deseret News, often include the following paragraph in stories of alleged sexual assault victims: "The Deseret News typically does not name the victims of sexual assault without their permission."

The hope is to protect victims from being revictimized. And the reaction to Blasey Ford, who first sought to give the Senate information anonymously, shows how people can be victimized when they are the center of the storm.
...

The Senate is open to justifiable criticism for how last week's hearings played out. Blasey Ford's allegations were to be private, but they were leaked and many are using her story as a weapon. The Senate also remains divided on partisan lines and has declared as much, regardless of what's yet to come from an FBI investigation of Judge Kavanaugh and the allegations by Dr. Blasey Ford. You'll find that detailed in a Saturday commentary by my colleague Boyd Matheson.

There is plenty here from both political sides to be called disgraceful.

But take a step back and watch what is occurring in the country. Real people are telling their stories and putting their names behind those stories and experiences.

In reference to Kavanaugh being emotional/mad/angry, I don’t blame him.

I like my father am a very emotional person, cry at the drop if a pin.

I don’t go to funerals, too much crying.

When he spoke about his children I too cried.

When he got angry and chided them about the way he had been treated, I thought finally someone to say what I have felt for so long.

I truly believe he will pass.

he should run

his kids are gonna learn all kinds of gross stuff about their daddy ( they already have )

for them he should just go

and maybe he can keep his current paycheck

Speaking of Soros, Blasey Ford’s attorney, Debra Katz, serves as vice chair of the Soros-funded Project on Government Oversight. Just saying.
Give me some evidence of a left wing conspiracy? It cracks me up that Soros is brought up as bogeyman. How do you explain Dr Ford told her husband it was Kavanaugh years ago? That she discussed in therapy years ago?

Trump says Kavanaugh 'suffered, the meanness, the anger' of the Democratic Party - CNNPolitics

The President obliquely referred to Kavanaugh's nomination while talking about the importance of Republican turnout in the midterm elections.

"All of what we've done is at stake in November. Five weeks away from one of the most important elections in our lifetimes. ... I'm not running, but I'm really running," he said. "That's why I'm all over the place fighting for great candidates."
...

The first key procedural vote on the Senate floor on Kavanaugh's nomination is expected to take place no later than Friday, a senior GOP leadership aide has told CNN.

I'm re-living my own trauma along with Christine Blasey Ford (Opinion) - CNN

The moment the camera turned on Christine Blasey Ford as she sat down to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding her sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, I started to cry. As soon as she began her opening statement, her voice at times wavering as she fought back tears while recounting what she alleges occurred during a high school party over three decades ago, my body began to shake and I struggled to breathe normally.

Kavanaugh's opening statement vigorously denying the allegations against him was also triggering, but in a very different way. His overt anger, his unapologetic willingness to yell and, at times, cut off sitting senators, provoked a palpable physical response I was powerless to control. The hair on the back of my neck stood up, my heart rate elevated, and I had a sudden urge to leave my place of work as soon as possible -- a place that on any other day makes me feel safe. According to WebMD, PTSD triggers can include sounds, and a trigger puts your body into a fight, flight, or freeze response.

In an earlier thread a poster took umbrage to my comment that Kavanaugh refused to take a lie detector.

That person told me I was pathetic.

Let's keep things balanced. Of course upper middle class males hate it when they have to give up one iota of their privilege.
I live in a family of white middle class males and they don't expect unfair advantage. They are solid. They care.

According to two female Yale classmates, Kavanaugh was lying Thursday about his drinking. Both came forward on MSNBC, CNN because they believe his lying under oath should be disqualifying, but we are learning today that FBI will not be given "free reign" to investigate this issue.
