Getting a big neck tattoo on the neck to cover old scratch mark scars seems very plausable. My gut instinct tells me this guy did not get violent overnight at age 48. He is afraid of real relationships of women he knows (hence why he was nice to the teenage he stayed with as reported). He likes the company of strangers where he can "be himself" and attack without 1) fear of being caught and 2) without having any emotional attachment to the victim. That's why he fits the mold of a serial killer so well.
 
I just wanted to say,some here were talking about his demeanor in the court video yesterday. I finally got to watch it and he looks like a hardened criminal to me. These are my observations and opinions only but I think he looked and acted like it was just another day. This man has NO conscious in my opinion.
 
He did have that deep but silent sigh when the judge used Alexis' name. Two times he looked irritated by the camera zooming in on him. Outwardly calm but a rage quietly brewing.

I'm not sure whether this is actually true, though. He's been married and there are mentions of steady girlfriends. That doesn't preclude difficult relationships with women, but it doesn't quite fit, either.

There's a lot about this guy that doesn't fit the standard mold. I'm not saying he's not a vicious SK, but maybe not the type we usually think of.

Cathy did not indicate that anyone was following her in the weeks leading up to her and Rebecca Dowski's deaths.

I just recently signed up here due to this case, though I have visited this site many times, as I've been paying attention to this area of Virginia for awhile. I just have what maybe an inconsequential observation. Based upon anecdotal information and also things I have found and verified, as well as what my wife knows since she is from that area of the state, I can say with confidence that there is a significant level of occult activity in that area. And knowing that there are many cases where SKs are involved in that I tend to explore that possibility.
So, in that context, looking at the tattoo, I will offer the possibility that it has meaning in that context. Not singularly because of the skull, but in combination with the numbers. 55 is a huge number in the occult, an example being here from a site I found
It gives you the power to create or destroy. It makes you overcome and vanquish your enemies.

Numerology for 55 is praised in all scriptures and literatures. It represents Will Power and Genius.

The ancient Greek warriors invoked success and painted Number 55 in their armors. This invoked powers to confer victory on them, when they fought battles with their enemies.

Also August third was one of many of what are considered significant ritual dates, reputed to be one which sacrifices are done upon.
I maybe way off base with this, but it is possible this could give insight into his motivations, and also explain why there may indeed be multiples involved.

Interesting you should post that about 55 because that is what I found when searching yesterday also. What is the reason for the backwards 5 though, do you know? Also, WELCOME to WS!!

Thanks and its good to know someone else is thinking the same, perhaps confirmation.
I have been pondering the reason for that also, it could merely be a stylistic thing or it could be that the true number expressed is simply 5, which says even more in that belief system. 5 is seen all over the place, a prime example you will find is the 5 pointed pentagram or hexagram. The reversed one could be meant to be mirroring the other, to fulfill the very often quoted adage "As above so below". This phrase is derived from Hermeticism, and is incorporated into many forms of occultism, the most famous example being Aleister Crowley an avowed Satanist who some SKs have been found to admire.
So, it could be that in this context the explanation could be a belief in empowering himself with that number, magnified by the mirroring. Of course, as I said before, there could be far more mundane of an explanation!
 
An extension of the mirror idea interprets the reversed number as not just the above/below or mystical reflection but as the evil half. Evil twin, evil genius.

I still don't think it's a number though. I think it's the clown's collar and probably there to help hide the scars.

That does make since too, for some reason it brings to mind the idea of multiple personalities...or living two lives.

It certainly could be just that, it does have that form. I pondered if it could be intended to be both.

I did save a color and BW version on my phone, i will post it in a few moments

So back to York County in 2009...need to check on when the women with her dog was found dead at the I-64 Rest Stop East bound, I think...it's the brand new multi-million dollar toilet facility on I-64. There have been at least two suspicious deaths there in the past couple or few years. The place is spooky even if is state of the art.

The other scary rest stop is on I-81 between either Skippers or Blackwell and Petersburg. Had a real creepy experience leaving from there one night a few years ago. Creepy guy hanging out in his suped up, engine running, Shiny Black and polished chrome Corvette. About five minutes after leaving the rest stop a car came up on our rear and tailgated us for miles. There was no one else on the road and the left lane was wide open. Finally, he sped off around us and was GONE GONE GONE. We half expected him to be somewhere ahead of us and to do it again. My passenger and I were certain he was some upscale serial killer. It was terrifying. There is Nothing out there on that stretch.
