Tempo Restaurant: What Happened There?

Did Hannah have a iPhone 5S? If so, getting the battery out is not that easy. You need a non-standard screwdriver to get to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQqPm3LmwV4

I don't know when signals from her phone stopped, but would think it easier to smash the phone up than try and remove the battery.

Can't you stop tracking on iPhones just by turning off Location Services / Frequent Locations or turning on Airplane mode? I've never heard of taking the battery out.

Maybe he sped away from racist white guys in a unmarked car thinking he was going to get a butt kicking for killing a young white girl...Then again he didn't need to drive all the way to Texas...LOL

Since when is simply doing your job considered racist? According to LE they had been covertly watching JLM for some time (perhaps hoping he'd lead them to Hannah). There is nothing racist about that at all.

But if WG was concerned for Hannah's safety, seems like he would notice what the guy who she met up with (but we know JM came from behind WG) looked like. Shaved head is total opposite of dreads imo

That's what I was thinking too. When WG said he thought she was "distressed" and wanted to keep an eye on her, what was he afraid would happen to her and what did he think he would do to protect her? I assume he thought some creepy guy might come by and try to take advantage of her. Well.....he did, and all WG did was walk away.

JL, after he rounds the corner on the Mall and is following behind a group of people, is walking at a relatively slow and casual pace. At some point he must have zoomed up to pass the group, pass WG, and catch up with HG. That didn't arouse any suspicion in WG? Did JL say something to HG that made it seem like he knew her and that's why WG backed off? Where did WG go?

Also, WG said he saw them stop and talk and that's when he walked away, thinking they were friends. If you believe the time stamps on the two Mall security cameras, and the time stamp on the "two house drinks" receipt at Tempo, then when was there enough time for JL and HG to stop and have a conversation?

For awhile I believed the police deliberately misled the public with the bald, black pants, etc. description as a way to buy some time and keep their real suspect (JL) from panicking. But then I thought about it, and I realized there was really no reason to do that. They didn't have to give any description of anyone. They didn't have to tell the public they spoke with WG. Instead they could've just released the footage with no commentary, and asked anyone with info to come forward.
It's all very strange.

Could very well be she was looking for someone there...the same one who wasn't at McGrady's Pub. Wonder why LE requested McGrady's not make any statements, but seemingly had no problem with the details put out by Tempo?

MIght not have been useful for McGrady's to say anything since she was seen later in other places, of note, Tempo's last. It gets confusing. Plus what could they say, other than to reiterate that she was drunk, maybe she did try to get in there and was rebuffed being underage, and maybe not having fake id. I dont think I'd want to be an establishment connected with what happened, and McG might just have no interest in saying anything as they have nothing useful to say

I'd feel upset if I'd denied entry to someone who ended up disappearing and it looked like a predator got her. Would wish I'd reached out and offered to call someone, or have just called security to report her. Not something I'd want to emphasize,

Forget what the cops job was, look at it from JM POV ( or what might be presumed POV). LE were not in uniform in an unmarked car. JM is now the main suspect in the disappearance and possible murder of this young white girl, I don't think it's too much of stretch for him to be paranoid.

It was the owner who gave the statements, so he would know. Yes that's pricey but isn't it a upscale place or one that's trying to be?

Okay, if he said the drinks were beers, I believe he knows that. Sorry, I thought I heard before there were two drink paid for at 1:10 am but it didn't say what kind of drinks but could be beer. Just thinking, JM could have downed 2 shots while Hannah went to bathroom and they left after that- but sounds like it was 2 beers, easy to smuggle those out in waistband of shorts imo

What I can't get over is the idea that WG thought everything was okay since JM put his arm around HG. I don't know about you, but if saw a guy that looked like that approach someone like HG, I would be very worried about her.

Maybe WG was looking for a date, himself... didn't want to admit that so called it "concerned"...

This is obviously pure co-incidence, but it is sad how both Morgan Harrington and Hannah Graham were both abducted in Charlottesville after being denied entrance into an establishment. The Help Save the Next Girl message needs to be taken to heart. If you see a woman who is alone and who seems impaired, you need to make sure you do something to help her. If it comes down to it call the police... do whatever you have to to make sure she is safe.

Sorry for the rant...

How did they know that? I wonder if they have more video? Did people see them get into the car?

My thoughts exactly! How does LE know where the car was? There actually may have been mention of a video at some point of the car, but they didn't see HG in it. Because of some of the "faulty" info put out by LE, I wonder if the location came from cell phone pings instead? They probably have the pings and texts / calls JM made at the car. It seems like that might be some of the evidence used to obtain the original search warrants, and as a basis for the charges.

Yes. There is that possibiity. As I've noted before black guys in the south involved in the disappearances of white females have not fared well. Also, we don't know what the exact sequence of events were with LE and JM. If the first JM had any contact with LE was when they knocked on his door with a search warrent for his car and phone at the time in the AM that was so reported, without someone from LE also well trained in interviewing to talk to him, I can see why he'd be upset and not want to cooperate. Think about that. A bunch of police swarming over your car and apt with little interest and info in you. I say this because LE didn't even keep an eye on JM and his roommates as they were left alone and disappeared by the time LE went back to the apartment. That was poorly done, unless LE is keeping all of that to themselves and there was a lot more to it than that. Not the way to approach someone who might have info on a missing person, IMO. The concern and emphasis should have been on getting info from JM, and the car, and someone very, very good should have been there to do that and keep an eye on those guys. They just let them go and didn't notice when and how they left from what LE has said about that.

It's possible there is a lot more to it than this, but from the lack of info, it is possible that JM wasn't even paying attention to the news and had no idea that Hannah was missing. He could have made moves on her and she jumped out of the car and he went on, or let her off somewhere. Now scared, he doesn't want to say squat especially after the attorney probably told him that it's not in his best interest to talk. Yeah, stupid he raced away like he did, and ran away to Texas. Looks really bad, as does his behavior with Hannah that we can put together. But he could just be a coward and a fool. Precedence in such cases, however, is against him being innocent, something that the attorney also could have told him, fueling the fear even more.

So, yes, ti's possible he's innocent as well as guilty, the way he reacted.

There is no way, in a million years I will EVER look at something from JLMs POV. Nor would I want to.

He doesnt deserve my sympathy, that is reserved for Hannah as shes the only victim I see here.

It was probably crowded and dark. I've got no problem with him being able to smuggle out two beers and slip something into one of them.

I think the fact that she allowed JM to put his arm around her and didn't try to shrug it off or confront him about it (it seems from the brief security cam view that she was accepting of his presence) would indicate to WG that she probably knew him and was comfortable with him. Therefore, he probably thought all was well. JMO

WG just doesn't seem that focused on Hannah until she's right in front of him and in that split second he processes she is distressed and he decided that soon to follow her? It looks like he's either looking ahead or at his phone then suddenly moves to follow her- so weird...- here is a larger version of the Sal's video.

You're right; LE hasn't explained how they think he was parked around 4th St. If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say a witness placed his car parked in a particular spot, but not while JLM or HG were anywhere near it. I also wonder if the bloodhound search last Tuesday that confirmed Hannah's presence on the Downtown Mall lost her scent around that location. I seem to remember the mention of Water St., but not a specific location of where the dogs lost the scent.

Am I confused or didn't LE say they were just watching him at a house (Gramma's?) and it was when he got in the car and sped off that they began pursuit?
