Tempo Restaurant: What Happened There?

Umm. that is eerie. Could be JM got the idea from that. We'll see if there is a DNA connection soon with that case. Was MH's phone found without battery? That's really bad that Hannah's was. If found near Tempo's and the dead time can be traced, it's pretty clear that JM had something to do with that. Wonder if that was what led to the Abduction with intent to defile charge. I can't see any good reason for Hannah to remove the battery of her phone. Just dropped with battery intact, could have happened. Without battery in it right before going for a ride with JM, doesn't look good for JM, IMO.

WG just doesn't seem that focused on Hannah until she's right in front of him and in that split second he processes she is distressed and he decided that soon to follow her? It looks like he's either looking ahead or at his phone then suddenly moves to follow her- so weird...- here is a larger version of the Sal's video.

Looking a that yet again...there is absolutely something just not right about WG.

This is obviously pure co-incidence, but it is sad how both Morgan Harrington and Hannah Graham were both abducted in Charlottesville after being denied entrance into an establishment. The Help Save the Next Girl message needs to be taken to heart. If you see a woman who is alone and who seems impaired, you need to make sure you do something to help her. If it comes down to it call the police... do whatever you have to to make sure she is safe.

Sorry for the rant...

When I am driving around and see a woman walking alone, particularly if along a stretch of road with few or no homes or businesses or in a sketchy area of town, I always feel nervous for her. Especially if there are not many cars driving by, I will often try to make a mental note of the time, place and what she was wearing. But if I see a man walking along in those same circumstances, it doesn't even register. I'm not a paranoid person and I don't live in fear and I really don't follow missing cases like so many of you all do. It's just a sad fact of life for us women, that we can be randomly victimized so easily, even in broad daylight. Men can empathize, but they truly have no idea. Situations they wouldn't think twice about can be terrifying for us.

That's what I was thinking too. When WG said he thought she was "distressed" and wanted to keep an eye on her, what was he afraid would happen to her and what did he think he would do to protect her? I assume he thought some creepy guy might come by and try to take advantage of her. Well.....he did, and all WG did was walk away.

JL, after he rounds the corner on the Mall and is following behind a group of people, is walking at a relatively slow and casual pace. At some point he must have zoomed up to pass the group, pass WG, and catch up with HG. That didn't arouse any suspicion in WG? Did JL say something to HG that made it seem like he knew her and that's why WG backed off? Where did WG go?

Also, WG said he saw them stop and talk and that's when he walked away, thinking they were friends. If you believe the time stamps on the two Mall security cameras, and the time stamp on the "two house drinks" receipt at Tempo, then when was there enough time for JL and HG to stop and have a conversation?

For awhile I believed the police deliberately misled the public with the bald, black pants, etc. description as a way to buy some time and keep their real suspect (JL) from panicking. But then I thought about it, and I realized there was really no reason to do that. They didn't have to give any description of anyone. They didn't have to tell the public they spoke with WG. Instead they could've just released the footage with no commentary, and asked anyone with info to come forward.
It's all very strange.

Exactly! It doesn't make sense- JM must have nearly knocked that group over, bolted past WG to get to her when we see them next, 2 minutes later in the Huel's video with arm around her

The only thing is, they don't have Hannah's phone...isn't that one of the items on the list for the searchers to look for? If they don't have the phone, I don't know how LE knows the phone went dead. Possibly they already have the pings, and they stopped?

It was probably crowded and dark. I've got no problem with him being able to smuggle out two beers and slip something into one of them.

The cargo shorts I have seen have huge pockets. I definitely think if Hannah was not in the bar he could have easily hidden the drinks in his pockets.

BBM, Thanks:
Could you provide a link about when her phone was found? I missed that story,
thanks

Interesting! Also from that article:

"Although aluminum foil is easy to obtain, you can use any good conductor to block cell phone signals. Copper and zinc are both excellent conductors that make effective Faraday Cages. Iron and steel are also good conductors; steel-framed buildings often have many cell signal dead zones because the beams form unintended Faraday Cages, blocking radio waves.

This opens up the possibilities as to why the phone went dead.

I want to see where the smoking section is in relation to the rest of the restaurant at Tempos and to see if it was in view of the door person.

We see HG approach the smoking section/patio of McGradys and disappear off camera for a few seconds earlier in the night. Some have surmised it was to puke, Im wondering if she asked someone to give her a beer.

You're right; LE hasn't explained how they think he was parked around 4th St. If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say a witness placed his car parked in a particular spot, but not while JLM or HG were anywhere near it. I also wonder if the bloodhound search last Tuesday that confirmed Hannah's presence on the Downtown Mall lost her scent around that location. I seem to remember the mention of Water St., but not a specific location of where the dogs lost the scent.

There is no chance a tracking dog identified her scent three days after the fact, in an urban area, on concrete. Much less having started on a track and then "lost it". Sounds like more bloodhound mythmaking to me.

Her phone has not been found. It stopped pinging at 1:30am on Saturday.

Timing for that is rather odd isnt it?

1:30am places both HG and JLM at Tempo. According to receipts and the door persons statement they were both there from 1:10 to 1:45

Did JLM ask HG to use her phone, which she readily gave over in her drunken state, only to have him remove the battery and hand it back to her? That seems to be the most likely possibility at this point.

I wonder if LE has searched the trash from Tempo to see if he ditched the battery there. If not I think they should. He could have easily thrown it into the trash in the bathroom without anyone even looking at him funny.

Then again, maybe the battery is what was found in his car and what led to the search warrant and abduction with intent to defile charges?

According to YELP reviews there is no smoking area at Tempo. According to http://insidecville.com/blog/ljs-timeline/, smoking was out the front.

Reading the stream upwards, others are saying that Hannah' s phone just went dead around that time LE has not recovered her phone is what is being said. It's in that other case that the phone was found sans battery. Mixing those cases gets confusing, as I just got confused here when somone was discussing another case. Which is why until the cases are officially linked, mods didn't want the mix except on the specific board now discussing those cases.

So the official word for now is that LE has not found Hannah's cell phone. THey just know it went dead at a certain time and I guess tracking can't be done when the phone battery is dead. Why it's dead, we don't know. Could have run out of charge, could have been removed, could have been covered with alum foil or something like that.

With an iPhone though he would not have been able to quickly just remove the battery..especially not to give the phone back to her in the same shape as it was before..

I suppose I was making assumptions. Here, most students need a high school GPA of 80-90% to be admitted, so literacy is in place.
I thought he got a free pass through a sports scholarship.
