Tempo Restaurant: What Happened There?

RIght now, Longo said he spoke to one person who said s/he saw Hannah inside Tempo. Tempo's response is that the person is mistaken. ALL of the employees who worked there that night said she was not there. Yes, it is possible they or some are lying, or they missed her, or that she was not in the main area. But if push comes to shove and there is only one witness who so says, and many others who say she was not, and the description and place that person saw "Hannah" turns out to indeed be someone else dressed similarly, and that is brought out, it's not going to fly. Witnesses can be mistaken, and it is common to get some conflicting information. If it is important enough, it will go to court and be so decided, but for now I think LE and the authorities are going with Tempo's stance. If more witnesses step up and say they saw her inside, there could be an issue.

No one saw JM drinking in there, so my guess is that he found a place whether inside or outside of Tempo where she could wait for him while he got the drinks.

There is that matter too that she was drunk already before she even got to the mall, something her fellow partygoers are not denying in the least. No evidence that I can see that will hold up under the scrutiny of a court, that JM gave her anything to drink, or that she drank anything at Tempo's or was even in there. Unless LE has some evidence they are not sharing.

The factor that's not being considered here, is how bars in Cville (maybe all VA but I'm only familiar with Cville).....are terrified of the ABC! As in they will do almost anything to not go under scrutiny by the ABC. Because IF they can prove Hannah was inside, they can shut Tempo down. I would not be surprised AT all to know Tempo is silencing there employees.....or LE does have the inside scoop from them, its just we at webslueths that don't.

Also I think its possible that at first, when she was just missing....tempo hushed their employees. Then when the case got more serious...I wouldn't be surprised to learn they did come forward...its just that that part has not been disclosed to media.

Glad someone besides me didn't know. I looked it up and apparently it is a half-gallon refillable glass jug that craft beers are sometimes sold in. Apparently you take your growler in, and it is refilled. FWIW, it seems a growler would be next to impossible to conceal, and neither JLM nor Hannah is ever seen holding one at any point on video that we have seen. As an aside, apparently beer goes "skunk" very quickly when it is put in a growler, from what I read. JMO

I've seen smaller.

No they couldn't have because it is not a place that sells growlers.

Growlers are sold at breweries by breweries and occasionally in retail stores. Regular Bars do not have growlers that you can buy and and take home with you.....and no bar I have ever been to EVER sells growlers to be drunken at a bar/brewery itself.

Whether they do or not, I have no idea, but Tempos can, if properly licensed by the state.

Virginia

Title 4.1, Chapter 2, Article 2

Growlers permitted under manufacturer license: Yes
Growlers permitted under brewpub license: Yes
Growlers permitted under retailer license: Yes
Specific "growler" language in statute: Yes — "Container" means any barrel, bottle, carton, keg, vessel or other receptacle used for holding alcoholic beverages.

In Virginia, growler laws are somewhat better, but still a bit puzzling. Virginia retailers must hold a Beer On and Off Premise licenses to sell growlers, and must sell $2,000 a month in food in order to get that license. This basically limits growler sells to grocery stores and restaurants, leaving small business owners no options to open beer-only venues. http://www.dcbeer.com/news/growler-controversy-brewing#sthash.LEDRbEGM.dpuf

I love craft beer and have purchased growlers from most of the craft breweries in the area. I have NEVER EVER seen one for sale at a restaurant or bar. The whole point of a growler is to get beer fresh from the brewery. Not from a keg under the bar at some random restaurant.

Let's not let "what's a growler?" turn into the next "how do you pronounce Hannah Graham?"

Can someone please tell me where are Tempo's cameras? Inside or outside the well known establishment? Maybe I should just call them and ask if they have cameras? Argh!

Every corner has cameras. I would think they have some form of surveillance for security- yes?

Not getting into another Gray-um vs Gram discussion.

It was being discussed how he could have left the restaurant with drinks. That was my point.

Somewhere way back it was said Tempos didn't have cameras.

I just keep thinking how much she would've needed a bathroom at that point. Drinking and a lot of walking doesn't mix, IMO. She could've spent some time in the bathroom there...

He could have gotten two ordinary bottles of beer opened. No one saw him drinking--it was weekend bar crowd, so a lot probably going on. He could have just taken them off to a side area, side hall, off the main restaraunt bar area. I get the feeling that JM was the sort that could just glug down a whole drink in an instant, and then another. He was known at Tempo so I don't think anyone was paying him any mind as to what he did with the drinks. Bottles would be so easy just to take away from the bar area.

I don't know the layout of Tempo, but a lot of such places have the restroom off the floor with some half wall or something hiding the restroom doors. Hannah could well have been in the restroom., or immediately outside of it, not easily seen by anyone in the restaurant main area or bar.

Don't you find that odd? Thank you for your reply. If I was local I would get on my bike and just ride down there to check it out. Everyone has cameras. Especially a bar.

What seems even stranger to me is that there are (apparently) none outside from any other business along the way like we've seen with them walking along the mall.

I think it's likely LE has video of the Tempo area and just hasn't released or discussed it.

Yes, I think it was even mentioned at some point that in addition to the bouncer at another bar seeing JLM and Hannah after they left Tempo, they are also captured on some video footage (not Tempo's, but nearby).

Too tired to go back tonight to find that, though. Sorry!

That would make sense since that would directly be related to the actual abduction?

How busy would a bar be that close to closing? I realize it was probably packed on a Saturday night, but wouldn't most people have filtered out by the time JLM and Hannah arrived, which would make it more likely that she'd be noticed (by staff or patrons)?
