A question for those who know the ins and outs of LE, why would 2 state troopers have been there with the FBI agent? (In BostonMoms article upthread)

If I had to guess I would say the FBI went last night knowing they were going to arrest him.
So they brought along the troopers.

But that's just a guess.

I'm not really familiar with the ins and outs.

Shouldn't the F.B.I. be trained well enough to detain someone even if attacked without killing them?
Does anyone know what kind of soldiers these could be? One of the friends on facebook also Chechen, also Boxer is involved with these somehow.

My point was that it has been "reported" that he confessed to a role, but we know how the reporting on this case has turned out. If he had confessed, why was he not already arrested, in cuffs. If he had just then confessed, why the attack? Usually people relax after a confession. I dont think the FBI has done anything improper here, I'm just saying there are big pieces missing from the story right now.

Sounds like he was the second man, in the Waltham apartment. I had thought that it was DT. So the 3 men were selling weed to DT, and it made TT angry, and he killed them. That sounds right to me, with the symbolism of the money and weed.

no,according to these friends TT was smoking lots of weed himself back then.

Curious what you think the FBI Special Agent should have done?

No idea who the masked & armed men are in your pic, but they look scary.

Are you sure those guys aren't just a SWAT team?

Well, I did a search on the photo and most of what I found that came up was in Russian and the site was discussing "Alpha". That's why I said "maybe" it was these guys.

It was hard for me to interpret.

I don't know which friend that is. IT does also have a 'friend' who has almost the same last name with a slightly different spelling (Todasjev/Todashev). They talk about sharing a car. In one post he calls him his brother, but maybe that's not his real brother. Anyway, IT's friend Todasjev has a friend who is from Dagestan and has his occupation as Chechen Mafia Weapons Specialist (I'm sure he might just think this is a cute joke?). The two of them live in Norway, but could be in High School?

I know we have to wait for the facts to come out but what I don't understand is why they had to shoot him dead. I understand he attacked an agent with a knife but if there were FBI, Mass State Police and local LE present as reported why couldn't they subdue him? Also, why was he signing a confession at his residence and not at the police station?
Ugh,sorry just so frustrated! It almost brings me back to the boat and the LE shooting it up like crazy!

Yeah, I'm interested in hearing the details. All I can think is that is was unexpected and the guy lunged with the knife. Maybe they couldn't just wound him or avert it. IDK.

"Law enforcement sources told Orr that the man, a Chechen identified as Ibragim Todashev, implicated himself and Tsarnaev to authorities in the 2011 killings in Waltham, Mass., under questioning Wednesday at Todashev's apartment in Orlando, Fla.

Authorities went to the apartment after having obtained what the sources described as strong evidence to suggest that Todashev, Tsarnaev and his brother Dzhokhar were involved in the killings on the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. The FBI had already interviewed Todashev more than once before Wednesday.

Sometime after midnight Wednesday morning in Orlando, an FBI special agent from the bureau's Boston field office was accompanied by at least two troopers from the Massachusetts State Police and a Joint Terrorism Task Force agent to question Todashev, the sources said. The questioning primarily focused on the 2011 killings.

While the FBI's investigation into Wednesday's shooting is ongoing, the preliminary details are that after Todashev implicated himself and Tamerlan Tsarnaev he became angered when authorities pressed him for a full confession, the sources said. Todashev brandished a knife, prompting the officials to feel that their lives were in danger."

"Todashev was arrested earlier this month after a fight in a parking lot at the Premium Outlet Mall, according to an Orange County Sheriff's Office arrest report. Todashev was charged with aggravated battery.
According to discovery in that case, deputies knew immediately that Todashev was either a cage or jui juitsu fighter and knew "how dangerous these men can be," a report said.

"I told this subject if he tried to fight us I would shoot him," one deputy wrote in a report.

The report said that Todashev told deputies he believed he was being followed by federal agents.

He told deputies that three vehicles with tinted windows that were behind him when he was stopped were FBI vehicles. All three cars left the scene before deputies could confirm that they the drivers were federal agents, according to the report.

"I noticed one vehicle was driven by a male, had a computer stand and appeared to be talking on a radio," the deputy said in the report."

"Dead Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev and another man — who was killed by the FBI on Wednesday — murdered three people in Massachusetts after a drug deal went wrong in 2011, law enforcement sources tell NBC News.

Sources say that what began as a drug ripoff ended in a triple homicide when Tsarnaev and friend Ibragim Todashev realized their victims would later be able to identify them."

So I guess this means case closed! These murders happened 5 min. down the street from me on the Waltham/Watertown line. Very rare to have murders here. All three victims grew up somewhere else and I hope the families now have some sense of closure!

WHAT???????????????????????????????? Now, he is dead and can't be independently questioned...that is not good.

Sounds like FBI was close to a solid connection and was pressuring this guy not to leave the country. They came back probably to get the confession and arrest but something went sour...resulting in Todashev getting shot and killed. UGH!!!

What else were they supposed to do when he attacked them? Todashev is the one to blame here
