I am a LE dispatcher. We only dispatch what is told to us. We sit in a little hole in the wall and cannot visually see what is going on. If we are given the wrong info to dispatch, then it is not our fault. We do the best we can in difficult situations.

As much as I am thankful when the media keeps me informed on these types of things...
I wish they would know when to step back. The last thing LE needs to worry about is a dumb reporter sneaking around... Back off!!!!!

I totally agree.
During a live cross earlier one reporter was standing in the middle of the street and had the GALL to be surprised when she was nearly hit by a police car rushing to the scene.
Reminds me of all the reporters who converged on our first Iraq attack.

LE do believe suspect may have been injured during shootout that killed his older brother (mentioned a 'trail of blood'--though they're not certain if that was the suspect's)
