So many different versions of how the boys are diving with their rescuers. Here is another.

Cave divers ready to rescue last five

The Thai authorities say the rescued boys are able to eat rice porridge, although their request for a favourite pork dish has been turned down until their digestive systems recover from 10 days without food.

Yes, there are so many different versions...but whatever they are doing, it's working!!

If the lead diver is carrying the boy's tank, those tanks are very heavy, especially when they are out of the water areas. I wonder if they drop them off then, then PU another when they get into water areas again. Maybe that's why the set up takes so long.

"COMMUNITY CHOOSES LOVE OVER BLAME" read one of the headlines in response to criticism of the coach.

Worth pondering. If we all thought more like the Thai's do the world might be a slightly nicer place, it's not called the Land of Smiles for nothing! In my opinion he's served his time already and the fact he kept those kids alive and never left them far outweighs the daft mistake he made.

Choose love.=====================================================================

Brought this ^^^ over from last thread. I am sorry. I am bracing myself for tomatoes....but I have to disagree somewhat.

I agree that the smiling, laid back, attitude is very lovely. But before we christen the country with sainthood, it can have it's drawbacks. One of the main things I have learned about Thailand, and neighboring countries, is that it is one of the top tourist destinations for Pedophiles. The sex industry that caters to foreigners, wanting to pay for sex with young victims, is very big here.

And I have to believe that the very attitude we described above, of being calm, laid back, forgiving and with big smiles, helps add to the problem.

I know this might offend some here. But I cant ignore it when I keep hearing how it is the land that chooses love over hate. Being forgiving and laid back is nice. But it can have it's drawbacks..JMO MOO

A valid point, but it’s mainly pervy westerners fuelling it.

I have spent months in all parts of Thailand and, apart from neighbouring Laos, dont think I’ve ever been anywhere as happy, tolerant, polite, relaxed and friendly. Their way of life and mindset is to be envied. My opinion only.

I have great admiration for these parents who are waiting at the cave for all the boys to be brought out.

Even if they have been restricted from seeing their sons due to the infectious diseases the boy may have, the caring for each other is something that is lost in the majority of the United States.

And add to that, how natural it seems to be for them to forgive the coach for his colossal mistake. Lots of heart there.

So flipping sick of politics. I can't believe the lack of live coverage on this situation.

Right? Me neither!

I only see two solid black hearts. I can only do smilies and frownies, lol. So lost with this new format.

Me too and me too. Haha :D

I think the soldiers who were joined by Thai soldiers in fighting the Vietnam war share your opinion.

John Volanthen, the lead diver at #ThaiCaveRescue - said: “I dive for passion and always wondered if it would have purpose. Last two weeks was what I prepared for my entire life.”

Oh man, that’s pretty deep (no pun intended). So brave and so worthwhile. His dad died just a few months ago and his mum has been saying how proud he’d have been knowing John had been called out there.

On Sunday, two cases of media malpractice, in particular, infuriated the public: the use of a drone which interfered with a rescue helicopter and the interception of officers' radio communications.

I would blame the government officials for that, not the media. If they hadn't pushed the media so far back, they wouldn't be needing to use a drone to get video. As for the police radio, that is public anyway. Anybody can listen to that, so why shouldn't reporters report what they hear? The media is just doing their job. The Thai Government is clearly interfering with the news media, not the other way around.

Thailand ranks about 138 on the Press Freedom Index. That puts it in the Difficult Situation category. That's the second worst category on the index.

Yeah 'deep' is the right word. You are always good with words Cagney :)

I'm sure the father knows ... watching from "the other side" ... :)
